    I’m 5 years late but great tips, cleared up a lot of questions, love when creators go in depth and give real life advice

    Hey, thank you man, I've been hovering around the the design part of things for a few years and have realized how crap of a customer i am when sending files in and how good the supplier has been in dealing with it lol

    Also I'm a moron and accidentally clipped the part where I mentioned to keep your colours on different layers in Photoshop. My baaaad!

    Hey, thanks for the information. Does overlapping colours on separate layers create an issue while screen printing? (designed in illustrator)

    Mark, I am wanting to get a digital file off etsy and print it on my shirts. Can I just use windows or silhouette to print it? What is a digital software?

    this video is great! I spent hours looking through other trash videos that were a bunch of rambling. This was super helpful! I'm curious though-- how do you go about figuring out the right materials for your printing needs? Do you rely heavily on the expertise of the printer? Do you have to specify exacts?

    Just watched your video. Trying to figure out printing file formats for t-shirt printing. I understand that it needs to be made in CYMK, but why is my printer then asking me to send a .png file which is of course RGB, which is more for screen/digital?

    Hey there I'm a beginner and learn something new everyday I've been trying to learn Illustrator and I have made some designs with a Wacom tablet but the problem I'm having is having the artwork in a thousand pieces for each stroke I take is another subgroup in the layer how do I get them all together? And when they are together do they stay together when you start separating colors for screen printing?! Thanks in advance...I know I got a long way to go but my husband bought everything I need to print but I have no clue what I'm doing my goal is to print him a shirt by Father's day! 🤞

    Thanks for you Vid! I'm new at just starting out on print on demand POD. Working with Illustrator. I do not have Photoshop. Designing t-shirts with words and photos on them. I start with New, and Cmyk. I convert them to .png in cmyk for printing. When I bring the photos in the New art board. They keep turning back to RGB color. Is there any way to deal with this issue in illustrator, and not have to get Photoshop?

    I dont know if it’s a new feature but illustrator allows you to scale strokes now. You just have to check a box

    Hola, bro, hello
    I want to ask you something, how to change my artwork in illustrator which initially my color mode is RGB then I want to declare my artwork in the form of a poster then I change my color mode to CMYK in Adobe Illustrator for print, so that the color of my artwork the color remains like RGB how to do bro?

    Thanks! overlaying images on top of another is this possible in illustrator.

    • @p46709394
      @p46709394 5 років тому

      Yes they both have layers... Think of it this way:
      Photoshop is more like layers of transparent papers where you paint and nudge;
      Illustrator is more like pieces of strings and papers where you change the curves and the distance between dots.

    It's crazy, the amount of people that ive encountered working in this field that don't understand vectors is insane. You wouldn't believe the amount of people that I have send me .ai files with a 2pxl res jpg placed inside illustrator and then saved as an ai or pdf so they can send it to the printer as one of the recommended file types.

    What do you need to know about printing on fabric for a banner vs a t-shirt? Is there any difference?

    • @MarkRichardson90
      @MarkRichardson90  5 років тому

      It's more about the printing METHOD rather than the item/fabric you're printing on. If the printers are screen printing onto the banner, it's exactly the same setup as you'd use for a t-shirt for example. A lot of banners these days are printed digitally (using a giant printer basically), so the setup is straightforward. Generally your printer will take care of it anyway, just go with vector CMYK format if possible and you're good to go
