IMPORTANT:
The Hannibal Rail is currently offered for 2008 and later Mini-14® or Mini Thirty®, or 2007 and earlier Mini-14® (in both black and natural gray). Refer to the Ruger® serial number lookup on their website if you are unsure what year your rifle was manufactured. It is very important that the correct combination of Hannibal Rail and barrel type is used. If during installation there are any fitment concerns, immediately stop and contact our customer service.
Choose 2008 and Later Mini-14® or Mini Thirty® (Black or Natural Gray) if your rifle has a factory flange barrel and a series number beginning with 580 and higher.
Choose 2007 and Earlier Mini-14® ONLY (Black or Natural Gray) if your rifle has a factory straight pencil barrel and a series number beginning with 180 and higher, but not including 580 and higher.
Directly mount a micro red dot forward of the action without the need for a Picatinny rail clamp adapter. The integrated Picatinny rail on top of the Hannibal Rail is perfect for mounting any accessory your heart desires, and gives your rifle a more tactical look.
The included 2" Picatinny rail and QD swivel mount can be attached to the side of the Hannibal Rail for even more accessory mounting options.
The Hannibal Rail accepts red dot optics compatible with the following footprints:

Thanks for the video. I just installed the rail on my Mini 14 #187-xxxx. Took me about 90 min but was in no hurry. Your instructions are very clean and easy to follow. I installed a Holosun HE507K-GR on the rail is fits very well. Now off to the range in a week or so to sight in. I'll laser bore sight it in the back yard before I go.
Installed on my 580 series Mini 30 and I love it. Installation was so easy and transformation was so gratifying.
Just a quick note for anyone who's thinking of upgrading their mini-14 to a Shilen heavy barrel - this mount will not fit right out of the box. You will have to do slight amount of grinding on the barrel for the Hannibal rail to fit. Otherwise, I love the rail - it's a God-send.
Thank you for this. Cracked my factory heat shield trying to remove it. It was stubborn to come off, but other than that, it went together perfectly.

Can a Halosun 510C Red dot be effectively installed on this rail?
How hot does it get under heavy shooting? Some of these handguard rails seem to really heat up.
It's clamped to the barrel, so it naturally absorbs some of that heat. However, even in the summer, when we did consecutive mag-dumps, it doesn't get hot enough to be a factor. Hope that helps!

Maybe only my gun but mine (580) required some drilling to the left side (slide touched the handguard).
I specify I ordered the 580 version.

Can you get a lower 1/3rd Co witness with the iron sights with the red dot when using one of these rails?
I have a 580 series mini with the light barrel profile. No BS. So I’m guessing the new 08 and later version will not fit. Mine seems to have been manufactured in 06 but still has old style barrel.

It is a possibility; the Hannibal Rail is already selling very well and if enough demand for the older version materializes it could be offered.

Ryan, Merry Christmas. Help! got it all together the Hannibal rail but one of the last steps cycle bolt and cycle safety unable. Cannot remove trigger guard now. Are you around between Christmas and New Year's Eve? Hopefully, Larry BLAHUT DOVER ,NH.
Can this be used with the accuracy systems harmonic barrel stabilizer?
I don't see why it wouldn't work with that. This rail probably also helps stabilize the barrel as much as accuracy systems add-on.

Ryan this is Larry again. On my 4 trips to the shooting range with the ATM installed and the Hannibal rail the trigger assembly has fallen out all four times I've replaced it twice and the gunsmith has replaced it twice. Do you have any ideas? My rifle is a mini 30 only using US made brass ammunition.

The red dot will sit low, but not low enough to co-witness. The video shows it.
My ALL WOOD 180 series, including top hand guard,.. according to Ruger,.. I cannot add anything to it. No sights, no muzzle flash hiders no rails, NOTHING. I hate the sights on mine but love the all wood old school look & feel if the rifle. So if Ruger is wrong, please let me know.

@@BezmenovDisciple took a while to decide. Rmr mount and rail are sweet, really brings the Mini-14/30 to modern standards. If I had more than one rifle, I'd have skipped this, but my Mini-14 is my one and only.
Does your stock come with the metal inserts or do you have to move them from the original stock be it polymer or wood
Oh and will this rail work with any of the barrel struts or is there any it won’t work with such as ones from accuracy solutions ( I think that’s it , in Colorado)

Can this be set up for a lefty? And how will this work with an Accuracy Systems AGB? Any issues there?? Does it actually touch the barrel? Couldn't really tell, and this should do well as a heat sink too....I wonder if it adds to barrel stability any also.....
William, the rail isn't set up for a "rightie" or "leftie." It's ambi. It's not going to work with the Accuracy Systems gas block because the Hannibal uses the bottom part of the gas block to attach to the rifle. If you watch the entire video above you will see where and how the Hannibal "touches" the barrel. I don't believe that "stability of the barrel" has been tested/reviewed by anyone at Samson.
Will the Burris fast fire micro red dot fit this rail?
It will work with the Burris Fast Fire III

Yes, it is included and installed.
Can you get an adapter plate to munt a holosun?
3:40 holosun uses the same footprint as a RMR so no adapter is needed.
Is holasun red dot use trigacon mounting pins and holes
Holasun uses a variety of hole mounting patters; we'd need to know your specific model.

Yes - it's the same footprint as the Vortex Venom.

Can the Hannibal Rail Gen 2 be mounted on a Mini-14 with the original stock? Or does it require the Samson Stock?

if the red dot is very hard to line up with the front sight as in the video, im at a loss as to why you would even need this unless you like the look of this cover over the stock one

The red dot doesn't need to line up with the front sight. This isn't how you use a red dot.
Because the regular iron sights are very low. I have a hard time smashing my face down to get a good sight picture.
Wander if this will work with the arch angle stock ....?
