I played bass one time to a song and was sounding like a groove cat right off the sound track tAke me to henKloot Man oh man I thought I was sur Henry Thomas maclamore the 3rd four times removed.
He's not supporting the song he just uses it to showcase his own blazing chops. He is overplaying like crazy and competing with Chaka instead of supporting her. That's probably why she let him go.
That's exactly what he played live and from what I've heard Chaka let her whole band go at one point. My guess is that she didn't want her songs just to be a vehicle for some musicians to show off their chops. Who's the bozo now?
