I think it should happen as the next game is pretty much guaranteed to explore every aspect about the lombaxes (finally) so revealing more information about Azimuth such as his bond with Kaden and the revelation of him having a daughter would only benefit the narrative. This also ties a lot of aspects together for characters we're already familiar with.
At first I had the same theory, but I now have a feeling that Rivet could be the daughter of Maggs, the Lombax who we hear in the Lorbs audio logs. Maggs' voice can be heard but we haven't physically seen him so this could be a huge possibility.
That's a cool idea but there's a slight problem in that Maggs never mentioned having a daughter that he lost when transitioning dimensions. The only way to bypass that would be if he wasn't aware that his partner gave birth which would be tricky to write around
@clauliz5502 Maybe in the Rift Apart sequel, Ratchet and Rivet meet Maggs and somehow over the course of that game it's discovered that Rivet is Maggs' daughter.
Ooohhh, I've never thought about that. I always like sticking with this popular theory of Rivet possibly being the daughter of Alister Azimuth, but her being related to Mags, that...sounds a lot interesting too!
You want "In the Feels"? Try them going to the Lombax Dimension, only to find out that Rivet was *DELIBERATELY* left behind, banished for Alister's crimes. ...and that banishment is still in effect. Given Ratchet's mixed feelings about Alister, and *DEFINITELY* positive feelings about Rivet, the drama would be thick enough to *BREAK* a knife, never mind being cut by one.
That’s the one theory about Rivet that has been on my mind a lot: her possibly being the daughter of Alister Azimuth. And you know, some of the other possible theories about the subject were quite interesting to me. And that heartbreaking scenario about how Ratchet might react to it? Well, I can understand why that would be difficult for anyone to discuss. Because since Ratchet felt a great deal of remorse over Azimuth’s death, even though it wasn’t really his fault, I can imagine him becoming greatly shocked and heartbroken upon finding out that Azimuth was Rivet’s father, and maybe even crying quietly to himself at one point. Uh, sorry if I upset anyone by saying all that.
Aww, I like this interesting thought of yours regarding Rivet possibly being the daughter of Azimuth like what everyone else was saying. It's very hurting saying and inferring that Ratchet will likely have an emotional breakdown upon realizing that Rivet is Azimuth's daughter all along and because she is his daughter she too was exiled by the Lombaxes in the similar fashion as her father, even though it's not about Ratchet himself but it would still be hurting with the extent of that realization. 😭😭
@@angiesploid7922 Not to mention Ratchet would probably side with Rivet over the rest of the Lombaxes as a way of redeeming himself from losing Alister
@@elharvey5032 Yeah, I'd think that. Ratchet may have been emotionally broken over the loss of Alister, but being the Lombax we know he is, he's stronger than that to just be...I don't know how to put this...submissive maybe when he encounters the other Lombaxes he had wished to find since.
The thought ocurred to me at times and I like the idea. Theres is a similarity between them, and it would add an emotional weight when Ratchet and Rivet do find the Lombaxes. Ratchet could be seen as a hero because of him being the son of Kaden, while Rivet would be shunned because of her connection to Alister.
@@VtnVivi First I want to say that I love your work! Thank you for this new video. Your video's are always well-made, informative and both fun to watch and listen to. As for Rivet, yeah, it would be harsh. :( Ratchet wouldn't be happy either because the Lombaxes would put their expectations on Ratchet for him being the son of Kaden; it would be exactly what he always feared. It could also lead to tension between them. Rivet would have liked the attention Ratchet receives, while Ratchet is upset because everyone keeps treating him like he's Kaden himself; but no one asks him what he wants.
I had the same thought! Like i had a whole what if scenario for that! Imagine: The game starts with the gang finally finding a way to reach the lombax dimension and are ready to go and meet their people. Ratchet is more nervous about the journey while Rivet (as we've seen in Rift Apart) is the opposite and is so excited about finally being able to go and be amongst others her people and (more importantly) finding her family as she has never known them being a different dimension and over the years became lonely and wanted to find and know more about them Alright so whenever they finally get their and find the lombaxes, the people immediately recognize who they are and praise Ratchet for his heroic deeds along with what his father has done for them, but once they see rivet they shun her, blaming her "father's" actions on her and treat her like a criminal. This would confuse and devastate her because its the total opposite of what she wanted and this causes her to go into a desperate need to prove herself as good or try and get them to accept her but its not easy. It'd be cool to do missions with Ratchet, Rivet, Clank, Kit, and possibly Talwyn can come too so they can tie up that loose end with her dad cause she gotta find that out as well. And maybe there's an emotional moment where rivet breaks down over everything thats happened and the team can confort her. Theres SO many ideas they can do with this kind of plot!
@@VtnVivi It was the first thing *I* thought of when you mentioned Alister. Ratchet was left behind because they ran out of time. What if Rivet was left behind intentionally? The sins of the Father, passed down to the Daughter.
Honestly it could be that Rivet is the daughter of alister or Mags the lombax who speaks in the lorbs and if that is the case it would not only confirm that she is not an alternative Ratchet as others believe but also takes an important step to generate a relationship among them and I know that many will say "ah is that Talwyn..." and here I have an answer based on what I have seen from rift apart and what happened with IG on previous occasions. In rift apart, nervous feelings are shown between them, feelings that normally show an interest in each other and that is quite clear when Rivet gets nervous when she meets Ratchet or how Ratchet hopes to have fulfilled her expectations so much and that they worry about each other having met in a short time (that for me is a spark of romance that can grow with the time that Ratchet spends with Rivet) also many of the current devs are very fond and appreciate her, so seeing what happened in rift apart and the affection that the devs have towards the character and some support that I have seen from the devs towards the couple on social media, it may be that the Ratchet and Rivet relationship goes further, and another thing that complements this are the ratchet"s love antecedents on every saga, in the first saga created by lead writer Brian Hastings he put sasha Phoenix as Ratchet's love interest (so much so that he has been the only girl who has kissed him in a game) this goes from ratchet and clank 2002 to deadlocked, after there Brian Hastings leaves IG and enters to take his place TJ fixman in the future saga leaving aside to Sasha and putting talwyn to take her place, continuing this from TOD to nexus (where btw their relationship is not very well done as they did sasha's), and now it continues with the begginning of a new saga where TJ Fixman is retired and the person who now takes her place is the lead writer Lauren Mee and is a coincidence that they introduce a new girl who is a lombax and who from the beginning gets along very well with the main character showing feelings that leave many thinking that there is a smell to romance (including me) and leaving talwyn aside as it happened with sasha. so in conclusion, if it turns out that in the end Rivet is another lombax different from Ratchet (which is most likely) accompanied by the aforementioned, it can be seen that in the future there could be a relationship between the two of them, however that already depends on the plans of the lead writer Lauren Mee and the other IG devs. By the way, excuse so much text 😅
What would make for one hell of a twist would be if Azimuth was Kaden's dimensional counterpart. I just love the idea of history repeating itself (albeit in reverse); Azimuth travels to another dimension and meets Kaden and Kaden's son travels to another dimension and meets Rivet. I still think Rivet is Ratchet's counterpart even though my only evidence for the claim is the way Insomniac designed and wrote her character. That and the fact that a Ratchet and a Rivet are both names given to things used in mechanical construction (a Rivet is a type of mechanical fastener and a Ratchet is a type of gear).
One thing that has struck me is the fact that Dr. Nefarious used to be an organic being before being defeated by Qwark. I wonder if something similar happened to Emperor Nefarious, or if he either always was robotic or if he voluntarily chose to become a robot.
It's an interesting idea that I think could work as a small subplot for Rivet in the next game if there aren't any AU Lombaxes in the R&C omniverse. I'm still hoping there are AU Lombaxes, but luckily I could still see us getting a "Ratchet dealing with the lost of Azimuth" storyline by having him run into Azimuth's partner/wife in the Lombax Dimension.
@@VtnVivi Yeah. I also have a brighter subplot idea where Ratchet also meets his grandfather in the Lombax Dimension. I could see him having made peace with the idea of never seeing his son Kaden again, but seeing his grown up grandson again would make him very happy and as a bonus Ratchet could learn about his parents through him.
At this point; I’m kinda glad Rivet isn’t exactly Alister’s daughter, despite the coloring and concept art. If she was however; Alister could’ve mentioned to Ratchet in ACIT about he once had a wife or family before everything happened. Plus I don’t think there’s any other similarities between the two. I still do have that one theory about Ratchet and Rivet still being related though, since there’s a reason why she became a new playable character👀🤞🏻 Also keep up the great work on this game Vivi!👌🏻
I actually thought about that and if so it would make sense why alister was so bitter despite the 'exile' thing. Like Kaden maybe he had to let his daughter go with a close friend or maybe his mate knowing he would never see her again

No way i finished A Crack in Time on Hard mode for 20 minutes ago. And now a Video. 😮❤ nice bro. I hope we see the Lombaxes in the next Ratchet and Clank
I have an awesome idea for a twist, but from a writing standpoint it's kinda sloppy; what if Azimuth secretly cared more about seeing his daughter again than saving the Lombaxes? It would make that moment where (Crack in Time spoiler alert (I know its an old game now but, whatever)) he kills Ratchet feel more justified (in a dark and messed up kind of way) and emotionally more investing. The reason I'm saying it's sloppy is because Azimuth never mentions his daughter, and there's nothing in Crack in Time that hints towards him trying to save his daughter which means you kinda have to shoehorn her into the plot. Sure, he could've been extra tight lipped about her and Insomniac could still throw this twist in, but the cost will be that it'll look rather sloppy (not unlike when Naughty Dog suddenly decided to give Nathan Drake a brother).
I think the fandom kinda forgets that Alister viewed the Great Clock as a time machine. He probably viewed Ratchets murder as collateral to rewind time and that Ratchet would be alive anyway, so it didn't matter
Definitely possible. Alister was one of the highest ranked Lombax warriors, & seeing how most of these generals or leaders function outside duty - I'd have to imagine them leaving a family behind. When you have that much power & charisma, it's hard not to at least have had some intimate relationships with some other Lombaxes. Plus, it gives Rivet more to work with as a character like you said in terms of how Ratchet would explain everything. That would most likely be the hurdle mid-story when someone tries to instigate or spill the beans to Rivet- whether it be Tachyon, the elder statesmen of the Lombax society who were responsible for imposing the exile on Alister, etc. Everything is gonna come to light when they go to the Lombax dimension. On the otherhand, I could imagine them writing in a new character that's Alister's son. The 3rd variation of the Ratchet (the hero who won) & Rivet (the hero who lost) triangle of fate, narrative-wise at the very least to avoid the dimensional counterpart conversations. Except he grew up with hatred, & finally found a way to overthrow the Lombax rule that exiled Alister. That resentment Alister's partner might've seeped into their son's psyche, & corrupted his vision of what his father really wanted. Alister realized his actions towards the very end & took accountability, but his son could be a different case to where he is irredeemable & stands on his principles. The build-up would be insane though for the final battle taking place in the Lombax dimension all by themselves using only their omni-weapons in traditional Lombax battle as symbolism to how competitive their fathers were; the son of Kaden versus the son of Alister.
Originally there is a great resemblance if the area goes to strong sunlight the color of the rivet because white and it also has the same behavior as alister azimuth
It is unknown that the Great Clock did get destroyed after the events of ACIT. But there's no way Alister did have a daughter or not. If she did she would know or not that her father is dead. Ratchet would tell her the truth about Alister and his true ambition about getting the lombaxes back to the current timeline by using the great Clock. But he did what he have to do in order for the universe to be saved. The Trauma does hurt a lot but u got to do what is best for the people u care about in the universe. Meaning that if u don't have a choice to kill one of your own kind to stop them from destroying the universe. For Ratchet nothing is worth it for risking the universe. So if Rivet is Azmith daughter, Ratchet will have been seeing her differently and having flashbacks about what happened since what he did. And he wouldn't not tell Rivet about her father ever. It's best to try to keep things a secret.
But if that's the case, then Ratchet and Rivet are not Dimensional Counters Parts, because that wouldn't fit within the game's storyline imo. Seeing as their supposed to be, but both grew up in far different circumstances. Rivet being left behind makes sense, but everything else...... Ugh, my BRAIN!!! I think anymore lol.
while i would like for rivet to be The general’s daughter, given how we can infer lombax genetics based on the color of their fur, it’s unlikely, i assume that lombaxes much line cats in real life and certain big cat species like tigers have different breeds, and the genes of those breeds effect the color of the fur, it’s just not possible, azimuth’s fur was always white with red stripes even in his younger years if the pocket watch is to be believed, so for rivet’s fur to be that color than there had to have been a female lombax with a darker more blueish tint, which it’s up to debate if such a rare color could exist… Not likely but its a hopeful theory at least!
As far as I surmise, Rivet & Ratchet's respective dimensions had their own races of Lombaxes, and they both all disappeared. Maybe Rivet is Alister's daughter...but it's the Alister of HER dimension, not Ratchet's. Also, did both Lombax races escape to their own separate Lombax dimensions or perhaps the same one?
The Lorbs to me sounds like the Lombaxes could be ONE species. Ask yourself this, why would alternate Lombaxes try and run away from Tachyon who's in another dimension?
Okay hear me out I have an theory at Ratchet is actually Rivet older brother (same parents) and it simply due to Ratchet being older that his universe is less 'messed up' as he was just old enough to something about it when the blarrg instance kicked off.
I have 2 questions #1. Is where is Rivet’s mother? #2 so assuming Rivet is Alister’s daughter, and Alister’s fur is red and white, while Rivet’s fur is gray and purple; then what color was her mother’s fur? I am think her strips were blue and the rest of her fur was black, because red and blue make purple, and black and white make gray. Not quite sure though if genetics would work that way or if fur colors mix on a genetic level. If anyone knows more about genetics or is a geneticist please feel free to tell if I am wrong or not, or if I am close to the right idea. 🧬💙🖤
It's an interesting question. But I have one question that was unanswered in rift apart. So we all know how Dr nefarious got turned into robot. But how about emperor nefarious. It was never confirmed. Could it be something to do with quantum. Maybe that's why emperor nefarious hates pirates. Hopefully we find out later in the future?
@@hassanghanim3966 Same but I think Rivet's Lombaxes (AKA AU Lombaxes) built him to aid them somehow but of course he went rouge on them. This would explain a lot like this led to Rivet's Lombaxes forming the resistance with other races (explaining why the resistance logo is of a Lombax head) but when Emperor Nefarious was winning and easily destroying planets, the Lombaxes tried retreating to another dimension like Ratchet's did but something happened that led to them being scattered all across the Omniverse and Rivet ending up somewhere in Polaris instead of another galaxy.
I always thought Azimuth and Lorna Cross were parents to Angela Cross. Either Azimuth's dimensional counterpart got with Ratchet's mom's dimensional counterpart to produce Rivet or more than likely is Ratchet's parents' dimensional counterparts are Rivet's. Jokes on all of us if Insomniac threw some shit outta left field like Lombaxes reproduce asexually. LOL IMAGINE XD
I don’t know that could be more of a time paradox since his dad would be there with him, therefore, preventing his birth through existence, but yeah, strain theory I guess
If you're talking about Qwark from R&C 2002, I could still see him wanting to take out Ratchet and Clank. He did say he was trying to make a comeback in the game and I bet he wouldn't want Ratchet and Clank to get in his way especially since they have dealt more damage to Drek than he ever could, and probably feared that they could become more popular than him if they succeed.
@@shanecrean6579 If you are asking about their origins, I got a few ideas. I headcanon that Quantum tried being a hero but after failing to save the day, maybe in which resulted in the death of AU Scrunch, quit trying to be one which led to him to becoming a robot pirate for some reason and eventually their captain. He still wanted to help though, so he made the pirates allies of the resistance. As for Drek (specifically the 2002 version) since there was no Ratchet and Clank to stop him, he was able to make unique planets for the Blarg in Solana, but eventually ran out of habitable planets for anyone to live on so he aimed to make some in Polaris which is canonically close to the Solana galaxy. Of course he never met anyone as powerful as the Emperor before and this resulted in his army being destroyed. However instead of killing him, the Emperor decided to punish Drek by turning him into a sheep as the Emperor thinks it is the lamest lifeform in the universe while still being a neat reference to the R&C 2016 game and movie.
Naughty dog has revealed that they wont be doing the last of us part 3 just yet but working on something else. will this be jak and daxter 4? I think over the years cartoon animation in games have gotten easier than real life animation like the last of us. Insomniac has done a wonderful job on ratchet and clank so chances are they might go back to the jak games. They have left a cliff hanger for Jak and daxter where Jak is Mar so might have to deal with time travel themselves. but chances are youve made a video about this havent you?
Based on the info in the game, this is not a good theory. Stop trying to associate every female character with an already existing male character. Rivet is already directly connected to ratchet. Now ppl went her to be alister's daughter too? Didnt ppl already do this to angela? Let female characters be their own stand alone character. This is a big issue when it comes to writing female characters, theres some industry mandate that female characters must be some guys wife, sister, girlfriend, mother, daughter, etc.

@@TinaTissue28 I remember how he viewed the great clock but didn't consider that he never felt he was truly killing Ratchet.
Lombax vs Lombax, I could imagine another like that! Especially if the Lombax dimension ain't what Ratchet was expecting.
A Lombax villain would be an awesome way to go, especially if the next game is centered around the Lombax dimension
Originally there is a great resemblance if the area goes to strong sunlight the color of the rivet because white and it also has the same behavior as alister azimuth
Of course rivet’s mother escape her
Yeah like an alternate where azimuth was her father instead of kaden.
I really want to say they are related. Theorizing is so much fun, but maybe it isn’t a theory
I mean the story potential of the theory being true sounds amazing and compelling i hope it is true
That does make me wonder what the Alister of Rivet's dimension would be like, now.
I strongly believe and agree that rivet maybe alastor's daughter it could be a strong possibility only time will tell with the next game
She probably was left behind same as ratchet was
But if that's the case, then Ratchet and Rivet are not Dimensional Counters Parts, because that wouldn't fit within the game's storyline imo.
@@VtnVivi Good question.
Okay hear me out
I have an theory at Ratchet is actually Rivet older brother (same parents) and it simply due to Ratchet being older that his universe is less 'messed up' as he was just old enough to something about it when the blarrg instance kicked off.
It’s a very good question she could be the daughter of Alister or something Ratchet Long lost sister the version of Ratchet
Happy st patty day
Silver Quill
It's an interesting question. But I have one question that was unanswered in rift apart. So we all know how Dr nefarious got turned into robot. But how about emperor nefarious. It was never confirmed. Could it be something to do with quantum. Maybe that's why emperor nefarious hates pirates. Hopefully we find out later in the future?
I feel that emperor nefarious was a robot from the start, but has similar origin story.
Drek as well!!! How did he lose in Rivet's dimension? Is it a similar case to the re-imagining? And isn't the Sheepinator temporary?
@@VtnVivi There is a chance that this version of Drek is a good guy.
Here’s another kicker,
What if allistor is literally Ratchet’s future self
I don’t know that could be more of a time paradox since his dad would be there with him, therefore, preventing his birth through existence, but yeah, strain theory I guess
Interesting, but they’re both different colours
Mmmm no just no
@@PixelaGames2000lol, yeah, that's just Multiverse theory, going crazy.
All Hell will break loose!🔥🔥🔥
How about this one
What if Qwark never worked with Chairman Drek ?
If you're talking about Qwark from R&C 2002, I could still see him wanting to take out Ratchet and Clank. He did say he was trying to make a comeback in the game and I bet he wouldn't want Ratchet and Clank to get in his way especially since they have dealt more damage to Drek than he ever could, and probably feared that they could become more popular than him if they succeed.
@@CommentingCommenter what with Quantum and Sheep Drek in Emperor Nefarious's dimension?
I think the next game is ratchet and rivet
Well I can’t watch this until I play drift apart 😅
Naughty dog has revealed that they wont be doing the last of us part 3 just yet but working on something else. will this be jak and daxter 4? I think over the years cartoon animation in games have gotten easier than real life animation like the last of us. Insomniac has done a wonderful job on ratchet and clank so chances are they might go back to the jak games. They have left a cliff hanger for Jak and daxter where Jak is Mar so might have to deal with time travel themselves. but chances are youve made a video about this havent you?
The Mar thing? To an extent :)
@@VtnVivi where jak is mar , so he must go back in time and help build haven city
Either that or they're making a new game
Based on the info in the game, this is not a good theory. Stop trying to associate every female character with an already existing male character. Rivet is already directly connected to ratchet. Now ppl went her to be alister's daughter too? Didnt ppl already do this to angela? Let female characters be their own stand alone character. This is a big issue when it comes to writing female characters, theres some industry mandate that female characters must be some guys wife, sister, girlfriend, mother, daughter, etc.
