Reviews of clothing, boots, and accessories for men, along with style advice and life philosophy. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well, and allows you to buy less and buy better. - Навчання та стиль

My wife gave me her Berne insulated overalls and I’m thankful for them any day it turns below 30° here down in Texas
Every time I watch one of your videos, it costs me money! I watched your Mackinaw Cruiser video and asked myself how I went this long without one in my closet…..Why Carl, why?! Why do you torture my credit card?😎🤣
Hahahaha I’m sorry!
At this rate he’s done so much in the way of Carhartt you could just as well rebrand them as Carl-hartt
Maybe you have a spending problem,go seek financial help.
@@R.I.PXXX999 Its a joke you moron.
Same here in Marthasville MO! I love my Carhartts!
I’ve used those FR Quick Duck and I can add my anecdotal evidence to the empirical evidence. For the absolute coldest days in the oilfield, nothing beats those bibs. I was starting to sweat just sitting in my truck so most days I wouldn’t need them, but there’s always that one day where you know you won’t be warm without them.
Good stuff
Exactly how I feel about my whole Yukon series bib and jacket. Never cold enough, but if it is , I have them
As a commercial HVAC technician, I find myself on top of wind blown roofs, deep in the heart of Ohio winters..
My super dux bibs always do me right.
I was worried that they wouldn’t hold up to the daily torture of constantly climbing up and down ladders, and the occasional snag of cabinet screws, and other sharp edged components within the cabinets of rooftop units, but that fear has long dissipated.
I’ll never purchase any brand other than Carhartt for my daily work apparel needs.
I am from Erie Pennsylvania and they are called Carhartt’s here too, although you will hear some people refer to them as bibs. A few years ago carhart made an uninsulated bib called “double barrel”. I had a pair and somehow they got lost. They were some of my favorite bibs I have ever had and they don’t make them anymore. It’s a shame cause they were great.
here in the Midwest, we too refer to them as just "Carhartt's, wore them sense the 70's first as a Boiler Maker then switched trades to a Sheet Metal worker. with either trade Bibs really never lasted more than a year, and in the later years they seemed to have changed from what I wore early in my career. but still a good piece of cold weather gear
lookin to buy my first pair, these vids really a big help. thanks.
I just bought the Carhartt Buckfield Jacket and Break Up Camo Insulated Bib. Be Berry Berry Quiet. I'm Huntin Wabbit! Hahaha haha!
You should review some wrangler products my favorite is the wrangler 47 regular fit jeans
I got two denim pairs.i got duck tan yellow pair.and winter overalls so like them all..winter ones run little big in me but man keep u warm..ps. wool and fleece lining pants by Carhartt I love help keep me warm in winter
Can you make suggestions on the warmest pants? Thanks.
Thanks Carl
Quick question Carl.
I'm going into a new job where I'll be outside driving snowmobiles, cutting up fallen trees, and clearing brush in Northern Minnesota. It can get brutally cold down to -30 or -40 in parts of winter. I need a TOUGH and WARM jacket.
Any recommendations from options like Carhartt, Duluth, Patagonia, Etc that you can recommend?
He’s said he likes the Yukon series from carhartt in the past
I just bought the loose fit firm duck insulated bibs just waiting for some cold days to break them in
Carhartts in central KY generally refers to the bibs and a jacket.
Best thing about coveralls is that you don’t have any gaps around the waist. Wind can get blown up your back if you’re bent over but the coveralls prevent that
I asked this in another comment but I’m hoping you could do a woolrich review/ history before they went downhill and talk about the specs on their hunter jacket
Woolrich and LL Bean are importing wool....now more than ever. Sad
@@tjellis1479 yeah I bought a woolrich from the 50-60s so it’s actually quality still. Sad what they’ve become.
I noticed with the jackets too but... why no storm defender series?
Good question, I'm not entirely sure why they didnt test that series.
good point....hmmm
Are you wearing the n&f work flannel?
Damn, good eye! yes!
Lol yeah my family just says “it’s a cold day out grab your carhartts.”
I know we're talking Carhartt(which I love) here, but I work in a -20 degree warehouse and can't say enough good things about the Refrigiware brand.
Yes! Great stuff. I have one of their high vis coats from a few years back and it’s a TANK! Refrigerwear deals entirely in cold weather gear, so I’d expect them to dominate the segment.
I worked in a freezer also and Refrigiwear is great,I bought a hoodie from them and it’s unreal!
Can you do a video on the Dickies Eisenhower Jacket?
NJ calls them Carhartts also.
У меня есть Firm Duck Overalls. Я ходил в них в -52°С. Мне было нормально
This is going to sound strange, but can you post what clothes you're wearing in the video description of every video? I always wonder what you're wearing, I always have to ask but, instead I'd love to just look in the description to see.
Edit: Forgot to mention I wanna know what shirt that is.
Not strange at all man, I think that’s a great idea. This shirt is the vintage work shirt from Naked and Famous.
@@CarlMurawski Thanks so much!
What about the denim bibs?
They only tested their insulated bibs for this one.
A robot that sweats 😬 Thanks Carl. Some poor guy is going to have a nightmare over that.
Typically referred to as carhartt’s in upstate ny as well
& wv.
We definitely call bibs “carhartts” in Philadelphia
We call our overalls and coveralls "CARHARTTS" in redwood country just wanted ya to know and that's northern california dude 😀
Right on! Good to know it’s not just a New England thing.
At this point ...🤐 ... ,a video on alternatives to, 😤cahartt😤 ,would be much appreciated 🤗 !
Then you’ll love my most recent video!
@@CarlMurawski Groovy ! I'v lost 58 pounds in the last year and will need to buy new clothes of all kinds for the summer and then for next winter. I still have more weight to lose, and I don't plan on spending or buying more than absolutely necessary until I get to my goal weight, so some budget alternatives would be greatly appreciated !
Once I get to my goal weight, I plan to start buying the best quality clothing I can afford by supporting American small manufacturers. In the future I will base my buying decisions on how companies treat their employees, at the moment it doesn't look like carhartt will be on my buy list any longer unless they reverse their current employee requirements.
i am from nj and it is all most the same statement , carhartt,
Milwaukee makes a dank bib
I'm interested in the topic, but it went very quick with a lot of words that don't mean anything to me - "clo" "duck" so I found this hard to actually process to understand what coverall would be right for different situations.
CLO is just a rating on how much felt warmth the product gives you. The higher the number the warmer so you can use that and figure out how much protection you need. Duck is the cotton material, it has a distinct feel. He explains this more in the previous video on Carhart jackets
I'll never buy storm defender bibs again.. junk, as snowmaker/ maple sauger farmers not so good
Carhartt has gone woke
Carhartts work clothing quality and design has severely declined over just last few years.
The new yukon extreme bibs are junk, the r33 extremes were discontinued replaced with the loose fit line
Why does it sound like a poo is happening when you switch items
Carhart are junk
