#bingers please watch Oliver and company. This movie was a big part of my childhood with the bangers of songs the great message and all around good story ( ps even got a death in it for u)
Fun fact about this movie: the way the camera moves was done by the crew inventing a special VR camera that they'd carry around, and puppet the feel of a real documentary movie. Also it's so amazing that this movie came out in 2007 and it still looks AMAZING! Sony Animation really knew how to knock it out of the park even back then.

I used to play the special features on the DVD of this movie ALL the time.... X3 The surfboard maker and the commentary that Cody's character gave if you chose pink for its color, the Chicken Joe whale hopping game, and the glow worm cave/volcano sliding game were the BEST (and infuriating, haha)!!! I was literally a month and a day before turning 4 when this came out, but I remember my mom buying the dvd for me that Christmas because I was so obsessed.

During the summer, I put this movie on just as background noise when I was doing chores and ended up actually sitting down, watching it, & even rewinding it at certain points 😂😂 I liked this movie as a kid but I definitely like it even more as an adult! It is legitimately so funny and the soundtrack is so fire!!!

Oh okay this is absolute underrated film when it shouldnt be. The way the filming is done and its for an animated movie is so unique and makes it stand out. The humor is still hilarious today and the animation still clean. Also the music hits!!! The nostalgia❤❤❤. When this came out i was in 7th grade so between 13-14 years old. I think the music in this would be considered alternative/pop/teenage angst genres.

Yeah, it bears repeating that this movie does more that's new than Frozen ever did. Making me wonder why that movie gets the attention and awards over THIS ONE!! It can't be because it's a Disney movie with princesses, because that doesn't, if you'll forgive the pun, hold any water!

OMG YESS!!! i'm BEYOND happy you're doing Surf's Up! you'll definitely love this for sure, it's one of my fav animated movies. Chicken Joe is my fav character in this and also Tank with his trophies is iconic to me lol 💓

I was one of the people who recommended it. I grew up being shuttled to the beach by older siblings and cousins who surfed, and most vacations were a trip to a contest, so this movie was just a chef's kiss.
My sister is pretty convinced that the boneyards are based on the Dungeons Beach in Cape Town, which has massive waves but also a lot of rocks sticking out.
Fun fact: they actually filmed it with real cameras. They played the movie in a dark room and let the camera men film the movie itself so it looks real
Idk why or how, but my childhood involved a lot of water and/or bird themed movies: Surf’s Up, Happy Feet, Mr.Popper’s Penguins, Penguins of Madagascar, Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Gathoole, Rio and Rio 2.
That’s not including Finding Nemo, Sharktale (yes yes get over it), The Little Mermaid movies and shows, Tinkerbell franchise, Sailor Moon, Winx, W.I.T.C.H.E.S., Aquamarine, H20, Point Break, Johnny Tsunami, Teen Beach Movie, Lilo and Stitch, Blue Lagoon, Hannah Montana had a lot of surfing mentions, etc.
Surfing and water seemed to be a big thing in the Y2Ks - even if you didn’t live near any - and it kinda seemed to die out now that there’s no such thing as a “teen space” anymore.

I love that the chicken wins. Like the whole theme of how its about having fun more than anything, and this side character is the embodiment of it. Dide wasnt even aware he was winning, spends all his prep time looking for hus friend, and his only response to making finals is "cool, we get to surf some more?"
It'd be easy to give the protagonist the victiry but the chicken winning is so much more on-theme
My dad and I quote this movie at such random times. Always makes us smile. Also, it was squid on a stick that he was saying tastes like chicken.

i was around 7 and cody and i related hard i grew up in cali so surf culture was all around me (all repects to the natives on the islands who invented surfing) it taught me alot about patience and found family. this is a classic me and chicken joe related more later in life 🤫💨

Hey there! I don't know if you'll read this, but I'm hoping you do. I've been recommending this movie to all of my favorite reaction channels and I hope some of them will react to it. I don't know if you take any recommendations, if you don't then I apologize. The movie is called "Society of the snow" and it is based on true events that happened to people of my home country. I believe the movie does an amazing job portraying what happened in real life. If you do end up watching the movie I recommend you do it in it's original language with english subtitles instead of the dubbed version, that way you can really appreciate the actors amazing performances. Thank you for taking your time to read this :)

I was born in 2003, which roughly means that I would have been 4 years old when this movie came out. Holy moly I was but a little tiny tater tot.
