Very cool find! I'm curious if you have to obtain permission to excavate a creek like that? I ask because I once got in trouble with Sacramento county in California for digging up the creek behind my house.
I forgot to tell you about something my Mom and I used to do. We took old fishing poles and stripped them to nothing but pole. We would use them by stick them carefully into the ground and listen for a soft "tink" which was glass. We found lots of good stuff like that. I just wanted to share :)
I have to say it is no bones about it you are just horsing around in the creek some fantastic finds Kyle absolutely fantastic I know I’m just trying to be funny love you kid hang in there keep finding the good stuff

All I could think about was how heavy those horse fossils must be, but I kept screaming for you to find more!! I've never seen those colours on olive shells, they were totally awesome. Glad you had such a breath-taking day!
Surprisingly they weren't super heavy luckily! I hope we can keep uncovering more as we go back! It seemed to have really slowed down at the end of the day 😭
The horse bones are very cool, and I love the shells! I can't believe the preservation of those jewel boxes and murexes! Awesome great white teeth! I wanna play in that creek!😄💖

So maybe I can tell you my opinion about your wonderful fossils with this comment 😃 Great video Kyle, love also the huge shells Many greetings from Germany ✌🏼🇩🇪

You have found absolutely gorgeous olive shells. The colour variations ate stunning. I would love to see a layout of all the neat and colourful shells you have found at that location. I personally would be thrilled with some of your cast off shells and micro shells. You find neat stuff. If I lived closer I would be begging to tag along sometime. Darn kyle i just cant get my mind off them olive shells. Olive shells are pretty commend in florida nomatter if ur on a dirt road around picnic tables at parks or at the beach but them are so beautiful, ive got some pretty blue/grayish colored 1's but nothing compared too the color of those. Too bad u couldnt find some welk conch and other shells out there colored like that! Nature Just truly amazes me! Always a joy!
I have been experimenting with these fossil shells and aquatic invertebrate tanks and so far things have been going good. They each were thoroughly cleaned without chemicals, soaked for a day each, and placed in low flow, and so far, they haven’t had any ill effects. Take what I say with a grain of salt, of course, and definitely don’t use them with vertebrates. I just wanted to share this in case anyone has tried this or wanted to hear about it. I will update this if anything goes wrong. 🙂
Amazing! Have you contacted any museums or universities to ID the horse? You might be able to reassemble some of the pieces and glue them. A mixture of 1/2 Elmer's glue and 1/2 water is a good inexpensive field consolidant.
Reminds me a lot of Leisey shell pit. There was a layer called the bone bed just above the Bermont formation that contained many vertebrate fossils. Might be something the museum may like to look at. I would highly recommend getting one of every shell so you can attempt to get some index taxa to get identification for the formation (though, it may be a bit mixed from the creek). It’s a shame there isn’t much info around on these shells, but I’ve been trying to help out Wikipedia.
Another great video Kyle! at 4:06 I believe that is a crown conch (melongena); fighting conchs typically don't get that large or have as defined knob. Happy hunting
