The constellation class might be an older vessel, but for some reason it’s one of my favorite starship classes just from an exterior lay out. In STO, I have one called the USS Gunnison. I applied some engineering “lessons learned“ from the stargazer being under powered and overworked. Despite her age, I dramatically compensated for these weaknesses and now she is about as capable as any of the brand new “young ladies“ amongst the starships. Not exactly ready to be a museum ship at memory alpha quite yet. 🚀👍😁

    Excellent !!!
As an old fart that watched the entire original series, bopth first run and rerun, I am absolutely tickled to see all this interest in Star Trek and by relationship, the Stars.
Commercial space flight is what will extend humanity and the expected lifespan of the species.
If we can get people to quit the friggin' navel gazing and walking around all butthurt about something that doesn't add up to nothing we stand a chance to begin the exploration of our Solar System and our Galaxial neighbors !!!

"Display passion for "Canon and Tradition"? This is a Sci-fi series that has not been wholly consistent in Canon or Tradition over its entire "lifetime". That is unless you mean slavishly rehashing everything over again. It is Star Trek not a WW2 recreation.

The deep dish design.. The kit bash of all starships,.the CONSTELLATION. class, with 4. warp engines( probably equals 2 , and 4 impulse engines probably also equals 2) Look at those two main.engine pylons, actually the necks of two constitution refits, also the saucer sections ( UPPER HALF) were used as well. Star fleet on a budget. How not to keep up with the Klingons.

Agreed. Excelsior class is my favorite ship design. The Constellation class is in my top five. Sadly it was written as being an old obsolete design that was mostly out of service by the mid 2360's, which always seemed strange to me, since it couldn't be much older than the Excelsior class which had been in active service since at least three years before the incident at Khitomar, not counting the earlier, failed, Transwarp experiments. It always looked like it was probably designed in the early 2270's, since it clearly shares most of it's design elements with the Constitution and Miranda class refits.

@@calvinhandley2373 Agreed, my favorite is the Miranda Class... Yet... I'd be on a 'salvage' yard, with a good crew, and with Geordi LaForge or a top Engineer, to put some Ambassador Class Nacelles, as a weekend project doing some impressive modifications, better warp engines, finding some kit-bashing kits to put together a nice upgrade-modified-hot-rod type Miranda Class, with Adaptive Shields, Ablative Armor, holodeck emitters, a post Dominion War upgrade.. My other favorite is the Prometheus Class, and Ambassador Class. Yet this Constellation Class does the trick.. I wonder, put 4 Excelsior Class warp nacelles on her, or Ambassador Class Nacelle's.... lol She'd be a sexy hot rod ship... Just a fantasy... :)

What a beautiful ship! I have always been and always will be a Star Trek fan. I remember when I served aboard the USS Constellation CV-64, Carrier, Kitty Hawk class during the Iran Iraq war. I would go up on the flight deck at night and look at the stars imagining us being on the Enterprise A. Just like Scotty said on TNG, "I could tell the speed of the ship just by the vibration of the deck plates". that's actually true. Most sailors know how fast the ship is going by the vibration of the deck on their feet. So much good memories Star Trek gave me and so much helped me while I was alone on that ship during the holidays while we were in hostile waters. Great video. Thank you and please keep them coming. How about a launching of a K'Tinga Battle Cruiser or a Romulan Warbird? Loved the alien ships too! Great work!

You realise with the advent of the SS-N-22 Sunburn Carriers became obsolete. Now, with Kinzhal even more so. Hypersonic death. 15 second warning, and NOTHING can stop them. Just enough time for a quick prayer. Like our Admiral testified a few years ago.....Carrier life expectancy: few hours at sea, 3 days in port.

Also. a bonus congratulations on the design of space itself. Most video games and graphics designers put entirely too much space around the environment in terms of white dots that represent stars and planets. Your graphics, space graphics have very little. And that is the correct way to design the environment of space.
So in the words of Captain Picard.

Very nice! I've felt for a long time that Star Trek producers missed a great opportunity, in not exploring the capabilities of this class of ship. I believe the Constellation was used for deep space exploration, so perhaps four warp nacelles allow higher efficiency... Those large cargo bays could hold all manner of specialized equipment, depending on the mission profile. Just sayin. :-)

I like this design because it closely resembles an idea I had for a borg-busting Admiral class ship. It would have an 8km saucer section with two large detachable secondary hulls. Each secondary hull would have a pair of warp nacelles. At this size it would be able to carry Defiant class ships in its docking bays along with a great number of shuttles and fighters. During combat the ship would separate into three sections. The saucer section would be a rear area command, control and support base. The two heavily armed secondary hulls and defiant class ships would be the main combat ships. The entire ship would have the advanced armor and weapons developed from voyager and could generate its own transwarp conduits. I could give you more details if you would be interested in designing this ship.

In my head canon the Constellation was a kitbash of older components in the heyday of the Excelsiors, or even the dawn of the Ambassadors. Their massive cargo holds (by the standards of its day) and being powered by 4 nacelles made them the courier of choice for delivering supplies between starbases. In a pinch they could be used as a light fighter carrier.

First I am in no way bad mouthing your work because it was great, I just think they made the Valkyrie a flying pig I mean six hangars wow.
Something like Valkyrie you would expect it to be sleek and elegant and they made her the Constellation class wow. 😬

This is why I miss the era of people posting videos to Sci-fi Meshes or whatever instead of UA-cam.
I realise it's so much easier but I hate the change YT does to videos.
You ever see that video the guy that uploaded and downloaded from YT about 10,000 times, by the end the video was unwatchable due to the YT changes.
Still, this was amazing, if you ever do post it anywhere let me know. :-)

Engineers: “How many shuttle bays do you want on the Constellation class? “
    Starfleet: “Yes”

I think it's referred to as a sensor array on the ship schematics. Most fan made MSDs show a vertical warp core, although there is less space for it.

Very nice!!! Well done.. Sure wish I had that kind of talent. I need a small time scoutship to come through a rift, circle the (TOS) Yorktown (NCC 1717) and then have it circle to the hanger bay and land while the Yorktown tries to evade... Then later I need a larger Wells class timeship to come through a larger rift and stop head to head with the Yorktown (with shields up)... I plan on creating a teaser reel and later raise some funding for the rest of the film and the special effects...

A fine ship. In the 23rd century. I’m in the 24th century with the USS Ironsides.

Glad to see a Constellation class get some love
Beefy, manly design, four on the floor for deep space and extra warp oomph, extra thicc saucer
Would be awesome to see a Picard series set ~2340-2360 during Picard's 20 YEARS as captain on the Stargazer.
Could easily fit in a period where they try Warp Fighter squadrons given the large hangar space on the Constellations, Starfleet's natural Aircraft Carrier

No, there is no main deflector dish for this class of starship. However, it should be relatively easy to incorporate a deflector dish and its related systems into the bow shuttlebay area (shuttlebay #1) if such a variant was ever created.

The Lunar Eclipse shot was a nice touch. ;D Can you do one of the alternate future Enterprise D with the third nacelle and massive Phaser cannon under the saucer section?
    Effing LOVE that ship!!!!

constellation class ships had 2 sub types based on refit upgrades, stargazer was the 2nd refit changing the constellation class to stargazer class. one other class refitted far later but cant remember the class name....

307blackhorse I believe in that same vane some of the Star Trek blueprint sets that were made after the movies came out showed some of the Constitution refits as being and "Enterprise Class" presumably because NCC-1701 was the first of the Constitution Class refits. Probably a gray area when discussing canon or non-canon.

I never understood why this class of ship needed 4 warp nacelles and 4 impulse engines, where 2 of each would have been sufficient. Double the engines, double the things that could go wrong.

HELL NO! the picture quality came out great on my 40 inch screen, and it was very smooth , great job guy keep them rolling, why dont you be the first one to make the first carrier ship with with single seat fighters for the for star fleet . they are badly need of one, if they was going against someone like bsg or b5 or starwars they be toast. go to the next level you have to talent to created it , just a thought

Hmm, could do. It doesn't seem to matter what bit rate the video is encoded in, it looks the same on here and I was hoping the quality on this video would be top notch quality. I did some test videos and it seems the added film grain makes it worse too. Thing is I'm fairly sure people will re-upload the video file without my knowledge which would be annoying.
