Hey John,, Oh i wish Moto with their really nice screen phones would bring back the front facing stereo speakers. It's got plenty of bezel for them. For that price why do I have to spend and carry around a mod if i want the watch a movie or video. So disappointed that they would put so much into a beautiful screen and crappy mono speaker. I'm afraid motorola will screw like htc or like their parent company : Lenovo.. They seem have hard time to fulfill their promise to give update regularly. Their price seems drop fast, for example, here in Indonesia moto Z price is $273 and moto Z play is $276. Even the play version has more stable price. They should not remove the headphone jack on midrange phones with high price tag like z play series.
I've got Moto X4 for 260$ (new, unlocked, in February 2018) and in comparison it doesn't justify DOUBLE the price, but looks cool though, but it can't compete with OnePlus 6 and Samsung S8 for the same kinda money in the middle of 2018. Z3 Play should have been 300-400$ but with at least 64GB built in memory...
Last year, all UA-cam reviewers talked about how the z2 play doesn't stack up to the one plus 5/5t.....it outsold the one plus phones by a landslide. It's tiring to hear a narrative constantly painted that's so far from reality. If One Plus is the standard, keep the saaaaame energy with all midrange phones demanding they give you the FLAGSHIP-TOP-OF-THE-LINE processor instead of a "midrange" processor. This is crazy.
J Rhymes 500 is pretty high for mid range. With how good processors have been and the efficiency of the 600 series, it's a little overblown. Needs a 660 for the price.

I’ve the moto z... After having moto g moto g2 and moto x style(pure)... I think moto have lost there edge now. The peak was the moto x style (pure), even though it was older then the z ...it was actually more powerful and had better screen and camera... It needs to get back to the moto x /pure to be a contender

How did you not address the fact that you can't even use 1 plus if you are on Verizon or Sprint in the US? This is absurd. Even the Essential phone works with Verizon. It is just stupid that 1plus tries to be the hip, cool new phone, yet it won't work on the largest And the third largest carriers in America. They will never be the technology leader if they won't work on the phones with the best network
