Just stumbled across this, thank you for sharing. I enjoyed sometimes working Guest Control for the Main Street Hop during that time, loved the music. "Middle-aged" me really appreciates the incredible cardiovascular fitness the entertainment cast members had to have in order to perform at such a high and sustained energy level. Really impressive. 😎👍
There was no line for it, too. Because nobody went on it. Now the Rocket Rods. That had a long long line, but Peoplemover fans wanna tell you how terrible it was. No line vs. long lines. The people have already spoken.
Between 1988-1994, I was the Disneyland characters version of Norm from the TV show "Cheers". I usually serenade them mostly singing Beatles songs, telling jokes, doing my Elvis imitation, etc. I can still recall when I visited the park on my birthday and while saying hi to Snow White, she noticed that I was wearing a blue button which read "Today's my birthday" she led the other guests into singing Happy Birthday to me. It's been the most memorable moment I have ever gotten by a dear sweet princess like Snow White.
Snow white adorable but wow she's wearing a watch and ring, totally not show appropriate when I was working in the 2000s nor was it allowed to talk about the outside real world lol. Omg the things disneyland characters could get away with back in the days while still maintaining character.
That was a great theme! I remember being there as a kid on school trips and family trips. DL just had a different vibe back then.
It sure did.

Thanks for posting this, I remember this as a kid, glad you captured your day on tape! Keep them coming!
Glad you enjoyed it
Cool seeing the peoplemover in action, what a great ride

Yeah, but Rocket Rods trashed the track and now we have nothing.
Snow White is a VERY close and personal friend of mine. 😘
I'm very pleased to be able to share my visit with the fairest in the land. And a passable twister too.
Was she your friend in this video?? 👀
@@VivlingLeighI think she is the Snow White in the video!!

Wow splash mountain was just about to open. Amazon footage
Yeah, and now trashed by the Disney PC police because of perceived racism in a charming movie no one had seen since the 80's.
*When Disneyland Was Disneyland.*
Wished they kept this. Didn’t really cared about circus fantasy or state fair
I so agree. The Fair was OK but the 50's just fits Disneyland.
Loved blast to the past. Disneyland should bring it back but this time focus on the 70s and 80s.
Great idea.
The gap from 1989 to present is longer than the gap from 1959 to 1989.
Something to think about for sure.
very HD for 1989
AI processing keeps getting better.

What year was this filmed, in 2022?
Says right in the title....1989.

I was just joking. Lol.
