My mom always kept her empty compacts and old brushes, washed them, and created a little play makeup kit for me to play with while she got ready. I actually love those memories. And I have found little compact/brush kits in pretty much every bag from my childhood since unboxing saved items from growing up. 🤣 That and lip smackers!

I do the same for my kids. Also have fake toy makeup. Also a “clean” makeup palette for her to play. She loves it.
I do way too much screen time I have to admit. Can you do a video of toddler activities. We go for walks, grocery store, target (for fun), back yard, she goes to swimming and gymnastics class. But at home I need ideas! 😩
Just do what you do, laundry, cleaning, cooking. It’ll take longer but it’s worth it
Oh girl i gotcha. Spa day or night,yogurt mixed with food coloring in the tub(tub paint),indoor planting, u can make homemade fruit pops, its super easy to also make chocolate and then decorate it with different things like nuts and fruits etc. amazon has instruments i can include the link of the ones i have if you want have a band day they can do this alone. U can do mess free painting or coloring they sell the stuff at walmart. And so so so much more
You can make edible play doh and edible makeup too if you have a girl. I have done it with food coloring coconut oil and fruit of my choice it come out like a lip stain and it works for me and my baby is 6 months so she can eat it lml
I don't know if you already do it but...i kinda force my son to play by himself. I'm in the room with him but i will sit and read a book and tell him i can't play right now. Not for a super long time. Just to get him used to the idea that i don't ALWAYS have to entertain him.
I’m in the same boat but it’s because I work from home so I need to break up the day with better activities

You’re such a loving and patient mama🌼 what I do with my 2 yr old is screen time and like you, safe products to distract her. I like to include brushes I don’t use as much. Snacks are great too. And I just hurry TF up lol 😂 you’re doing great 😊🤍 she looks happy and healthy! Coloring books help, she’s in a coloring phase. I also keep my everyday makeup in a bag and categorize my looks. 5 min or 10 min hair and makeup. When I’m up for it I wake up before her. If I look bummish I treat it like a “work from home” day so that’s the day I do house chores and involve my baby in it too.
It’s so cute how Arrow puts the makeup on herself and wants to a part of the getting ready process 🤍 we can never have enough blush!

My son also likes getting involved lol. He loves 'helping' me put on my make up and on himself. My brushes always seem to get licked haha.

I have a daughter who is 16 months old and she loves playing with my makeup! So what I did was make her a basket of her own makeup! 🤣 it's freaking genius; I could do my makeup while she is busy playing with her own haha. I put makeup and brushes that I don't use anymore in there. That way she can play with makeup and I don't have to worry about her breaking anything aaand she keeps herself busy 🤣🙌

My favorite video yet! This is exactly what I do with my one year old while getting ready, except he’s a boy and my husband doesn’t think he should touch my make up. Any thoughts on how I can do my make up and still make my 1 year old feel involved? 😭 I don’t see anything wrong with it but I can be wrong
Boys can wear makeup too but if your husband has a huge problem give him some clear lipgloss or something that matches his skin tone to put on or keep empty compacts clean them and build him his own ‘makeup’ with Vaseline

I have an almost two years old son. He's all BOY except he LOVES lip glosses, make up, and purses.. it's totally fine and innocent. Children want to immatate those they love and that's all my son is doing. So to answer your question. 1 you aren't wrong bc it's totally fine. 2. Give him some chap stick and old make up brushes. 3. Tell your husband that it's innocent and there's absolutely nothing wrong with a child wanting to be like his or her favorite person

Okay, these are the tips I need. I've been wanting to get ready more, both for myself and cause I'm taking sign language. Facial expression is super important and I have transparent eye brows and lashes. Lol it helps with the videos.

I have a one year old and getting ready every morning is definitely challenging. What I do personally is I have a makeup vanity in her bedroom. I sit at the vanity and I shut her bedroom door and I make sure she has snacks some water and some toys around her and I just make the best of it. Everyday is different but I but I Usually get about a solid 20 minutes to be able to do my makeup before she gets bored and starts tugging on my shirt lol

Would you be ok doing an update on Arrow's speech? My 19 month old has says stuff but some days go by when she doesn't say anything at all.
My 2 year old for about a year now likes to sit on the toilet lid beside my vanity while I do my makeup in the bathroom. She knows the items she’s allowed to touch; brush, comb, tweezers, mirror compact, scrunchies, etc. She knows she has to ask before grabbing any item. Or you could have a little basket of her own items nearby that she only gets to use during your makeup time, for example, those crayola markers “color wonder” with paper so she can color away and you don’t have to worry about a mess. Doing great, Mama!

hahaa Arrow you're a champ! I can def resonate, this looks a lot like me getting ready with my one year old. She wants to get involved in literally every thing I do ha,.. Just like you I have some "safe" things mixed in with my make up that I know she will find facinating and buys me 30 seconds here and there :D It is what it is, but I def agree, a bit of selfcare and layer of lipstick makes all the difference - even if you're not going anywhere important. Honestly yeah, most days I can literally just put sunscreen, tinted moisturizer and mascara and brows lol. If I'm getting ready for something nice, screens coming on for my two kids lol.

I don't wear makeup, I don't wear accessories, I dress the same every day (just have multiple black pants and black nursing tank tops) so for me to get ready in the morning and get that feeling of being put together is just to brush my hair 😅 life hack I guess 🙃

I do my makeup in my son's room. It is baby proofed and i let him do his own thing while I'm doing my face. Sometimes he's interested in what I'm doing and we'll talk about it. Otherwise he's just playing about my feet.
