After my went over Afghanistan as an Navy MA and worked at the Parwan Detenion for a year in the Army, as a volunteer IA. He came back with injuries from Outside the wire Missions. The Master Chief pulled him over to the MESRON Unit 11, aka Coastal Riverine Squadron Unit. He deployed to the United Emerates. 1st deployment and Djubuti 2tnd Deployment. He just retired at 20 years in the Navy. He loved the CRS the most..... Proud of all that serve our country....
My little brother is about to graduate to squadron 3 and I just found out today and he told me to look it up so here I am! I had no idea this existed either but it's very interesting and comforting knowing he stateside
Oo nga! They need it especially down southern coast of the country in Tawix2 and Sulu area. Kahit mga sampo muna. That would be great if the US NAVY can help the Philippine Navy to tackle the extremist groups in the southern Philippines 🇵🇭. Having this patrol boat squadron for the Philippine Navy or Philippine coast guard would definitely boost their ability and morale.
If anyone can please tell me how to become one of them like what rates most likely get into that etc etc I can’t find any info I really wanna know pls lmk
Anyone can get orders to this unit. It’s a 3 yr billet I believe. If you want to do real cool guy shit on boats. Go to SWCC school. You will graduate as an SB
These small US Navy Parole boats can be transported around the world (on the decks of much larger US Navy Warships) into hot spots that the Coast Guard would not encounter.
It is not swcc, this is a MSRON or more commonly known as a coastal riverine squadron but it’s all different “mos” or as the navy calls it rates, this is just an assignment one can get im in one rn
comparing the se patrol boats with US patrol boats used in the vietnam war to patrol vietnam rivers, the US patrol boat in vietnam were formidable. the PT boats use in this video will not last or not effective during the vietnam war.
Not only are their COMMS horrible, but broken glass windows in the pilot house, and zip ties galore being used to lash & secure items together. Does not speak well to Big Navy's attention to safety while at sea, and/or it's ability to keep vessels in a good state of maintenance readiness. Makes one kinda wonder where this Squadrons CO priorities lie.
I was just going to say "too much broken glass". When I was in the NAVY my chief would have had us replace it, ESPECIALLY if it was going to be video'd...
Wonder if they ever trained to secure, say, the Savannah river or one of our other small ocean-dumping rivers. With just a couple hundred Marines alongside and the navy bringing the bullets, beans and bandages upriver behind these wonderful craft. Ahhh, armchair amphibious assault.
What a waste of taxpayer defense spending. This is a job for the coast guard, which easily has the weapons, training, equipment and personnel to conduct domestic river patrols. Could be a very limited overseas role for navy in this arena, but even that would probably be best left to coast guard.
USA outperforms & always has the most ready forces ONLY do to not stopped training. If something broke out it is very training you see would make the difference. Plus only after years of training do you make a good instructor yourself. So it's not wasted funds and it's not for the Coast Guard. Armchair quarterbacking😡

My son just got attached to one of these squadrons in VA. Very proud of him. Never knew this existed

Been there done that. Inshore Boat Unit. (IBU)-24. Naval Weapon Station Earle. NJ. Hooyah!
The Coast Guard Should have a few of those Armed Speedboats.
Deployed with ibu21 in 07 and we were just getting the 6 series jet drives these boats are old and outdated

Does this boat have bow thruster?
Boat very good
Does this boat have a day head?
What kind of boat is that?
Do they come up for sale as surplus?
They are 34 foot SeaArks and no they do not come up for surplus sale. Brand new they're about 2.5 million.
Would e nice if the riverine boat has a 20mm gun and a couple of M-60's/ and 60mm mortars, of course a fewstingrays in the poopdek
Nice fishing trip... A good job of keeping those fishing poles off camera.
That sub was like: yo.
Need these units on the rio grand at the boarder
That be a nice fishing boat
Riviera BEACH, Palm Beach County too.
Idea! place two riverine patrol boats on the river area's where the southern border is by the river!
These boats are protecting a Naval submarine harbour.
When I was in I would love this duty
Rear gunner no protection at all.
isnt this Coast Guard job? can someone explain why navy still operate small patrol boat?
These small US Navy Parole boats can be transported around the world (on the decks of much larger US Navy Warships) into hot spots that the Coast Guard would not encounter.
@@1kevingilbride How long are the boats on Parole?
Because the Navy shows and trains the Coasties how to do it. The Navy has always been the small patrol and river boat force not the Coast Guard.

The usage of zip-ties is actually pretty intelligent, they're strong and cheap. Not sure what your smoking.
too much glass on that boat...
A lot of cracked glass too

Anyone know what rates serve in that unit?
bm, gm, qm, ma, et, it, is, yn, ls, ps, mm, en
I was a Marine, but I think I know what those rates are. Looks like an interesting unit,
@@tomdavison9107 it was fun. I was the one driving the boat number 606 in the footage. I enjoyed it a lot.

Because coast guard is not trained to do what SWCC operators can do. Nor can they go where these boats can go.
@@williamhager7136 those aren’t swcc operators. These are normal sailors it’s just a cool billet most rated can pick up.
You must not know much about the coat guard, or geography.
