Cleverness makes the best of a situation, wisdom makes the best of a life.
They operate on different systems.

In God’s Kingdom, you use God’s Name with Respect.
This Sunday is the Coronation of King Charles III, you do not talk to the king like he is just anybody.
To honour a person, honour the name.

The world would tell you only honour your Mum and Dad if you deem them worthy of respect.
In the Kingdom of God, you honour you Mother and Father.
You don’t need low resolution, shallow thinking of “it doesn’t make sense so I won’t do it,” think it through, pray, meditate, ask God.
If you find out nothing else, think about this, there is a natural order to the world.
There is consistency in nature because there are laws in nature, because there is a law giver.
If a generation honours the one before it in stead of rejecting it, you can have a fair, balanced view of what went before, what was good, what was bad, what went right, what went wrong, so you can strengthen and improve your generation and the generations to come after you.
But always think it through for yourself.

If you are ever discouraged by atheists about the Bible, remember this.
The Bible is explicitly simple.
Some things require grace, wisdom and revelation to grasp, but the point of the Gospel is that everyone can understand it.
A lot of the Bible is narrative, because it is easier to read, hear, understand and think about stories.
Throughout human history, the premier way of conveying enduring wisdom, messages and life lessons is through stories.
Jesus would shrink down massive truths about the Kingdom if God into parables - which are stories with a message.
God made many of these things simple because God does not talk to equal beings, He talks to beings with less capacity, ability and understanding.
In Psalm 139, David said such knowledge is too wonderful for him and he cannot attain it.
Never try to intellectualise God.
Being arrogant, high minded is like the smell of rotting to God. To unlock the secrets and the mysteries, humble yourself and let God teach you.
The hardcore intellectual atheists will never understand the things of God whilst thinking their own faculties as superior to God’s revelation, which is revealed to us as simple to grasp and understand, not so high that we have to climb to Heaven.

The kingdom of the world is survival of the fittest.
This is the view often taken by evolutionists, from Charles Darwin’s view of natural selection, those who adapt survive and thrive.
To put it another: Negan from the Walking Dead’s world view was only the strong survive.
The Kingdom of God is different.
Instead of the strong survive, God says find the most vulnerable person (examples are widows, orphans, sojourners/people from foreign countries) and help them survive.

Do not murder, do not betray.
These are linked.
These are wilful acts, not omissions of duty.
Doing harm through violence or betrayal has massive implications.
Imagine a person. That person is interlinked to every other person around them in their lives.
It is similar to a neural network.
Harming that one person will harm all those people the one person is connected to.
Before taking rash action, think it through.
You might see this one person who has done you wrong, what you don’t see is the massive network of people all around them who will be affected by your action
Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Their Children, their Friends, their teachers, their students, their colleagues, their teammates.
Imagine this.
There is a family at a dinner table, and the is an empty chair, where someone should be but isn’t. The effect of that person not being their in incalculable.
Where there is life, there is possibility.
If you have life, you have hope, because things get better.
In the Kingdom of God, Jesus gives life and as His subjects we are called to administer life.
This includes salvation, mercy, kindness, honesty, encouragement.
The power of life and death i in the tongue.
Speak life. Reject violence and betrayal.

This is an interesting take I’ve never heard before.
God gave the Sabbath as a command because the Israelites were slaves.
They still had a slave mentality. They would work Work work.
It’s a terrible thing to give your entire life to work - except in some specific circumstances.
The vast majority of people need balance.
If you prioritise God, you need to balance your family, friends, work, church to have a full life.
Jesus came to give life and give more abundantly - this involves prioritising and balance.
Without the command, The Israelites would just go back to working every day in anxious toil like when they were slaves.
In Mark 2:27, Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man (humans in general, not just the Israelites) , but it is not observed until Exodus 20, even though God rested at Genesis 2:2.
God knows that humans need rest, we should not work our whole lives away.
