  • President Kennedy’s trip to Texas was meant to rally support for his programs and policies and lay groundwork for the 1964 election. But instead, something happened that changed the course of history: the president was assassinated. The world seemed to stop as John F. Kennedy’s state funeral was arranged. This episode brings you into the White House in the aftermath of the assassination and historian Fredrik Logevall looks at the trip to Texas and how the country - and the world - mourned the president.

I was almost 5 year's old at this time, when it came on the TV I watched my parents who I had never seen cry start to cry, my mom Bless her soul for the rest of my life talked about the love she had for the Kennedy family, I am 64 today and remember the long conversations with my mom, love to hear him speak. God Bless all 🙏 I remember this like I do 9/11. 🙏

I was seven years old. When President Kennedy was assassinated, even that young, his passing had a significant effect on my life. I can guarantee you that. President Kennedy is my favorite president. I assume y’all get tired of hearing that though.

LBJ is the one that pushed him to Texas.

dunwundering835 Wrong. It was JFK's plan to tour Texas with LBJ as a show of North/South Democratic party unity.

I watched the series called Kennedy last night on tv. Although I wasn’t born when he passed, I consider him my favorite president of all time.

    The " conspiracy" was REAL.
The speaker was cowardly in offering a silly analysis of those who see the truth

@oscarrobert4725 The "conspiracy" is a paranoid fantasy with no credible evidence of it, much less proof, after 60+ years.
