The City on a Hill

Since the Massachusetts Bay Colony was established, Boston has been described as a “city on a hill” or a city to be looked to as an example for others. President Kennedy drew from the same material when he left for Washington D.C. In this episode, we look back at some of Boston's notable mayors who left their mark on the original “city on a hill” including President Kennedy's grandfather, John Fitzgerald. We also look ahead to Boston’s future under new mayor Michelle Wu.

Thank you for this wonderful channel; if you would PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - find the debate between JFK and lbj where JFK schools lbj so bad - you can see that evil texas-stare as if from that point on he plotted to sniff him out. you can't find this video but that confrontation is embedded in my mind. I literally met JFK on 11/22/63 at Parkland. I was 6 months old dying of dehydration- I was rejecting my mother's milk and would not hold down the new baby formula. Parkland had frozen mother milk and one of them I tolerated & later helped me accept my own mother's milk.
