- Here is my flight review of my recent flight from London Gatwick Airport to Gibraltar. I flew with easyJet on an Airbus A319 aircraft in Economy class (woohoo).
I parked at the South Terminal so was able to see the deserted terminal on my way to the North Terminal, where all flights are currently departing, including the handful of long-haul flights restarted by British Airways. I look at how easyJet has adapted its service to reflect the current situation, and look at the precautions in place at Gibraltar's airport. Plus some relaxing footage of clouds...

Flying out to Gibraltar tomorrow as my auntie lives 30 minutes away in Spain. Love flying to Gibraltar as the views on landing and take off are stunning

@@MattsPlanet Absolutely! We want more. Due to cancellations our flights here have slowed down to what feels like to me "winter levels." I'm hoping it picks up again soon.

Strikes me that it might be a bit claustrophic to live there? Especially if Spain is off limits?
@@MattsPlanet Agreed! However it’s extremely safe and unique, most people have holiday homes in Spain where they spend their weekends. It’s not for everyone and personally I think it offers a great quality of life, however I don’t intend on living here forever!

We worked in England for 6.5 years from 2013 until 2019 and flew EJ many times mainly from Luton, we found speedy boarding was cheap at the start but nearer the end of our time there it got so expensive so much so we gave up on it.
EJ as a rule were good mostly and prefer them to the cheap Irish equivalent.
Thanks Craig... I might make a video about it one day but there's a debate as to whether EJ is still a LCC - they're rarely Low Cost these days and have so many frills its not easy to compare them to the Irish...

The list of quarantine free places (in and out) is dwindling so Gibraltar may be a great / only choice!

I personally love an early start for flights, but getting up at god knows what time can be annoying. Fortunately ive never been hit by diversions for these flights, but as a failsafe, i tend to stay at the premier inn at gatwick for really early flights, only costs around £20
I live around an hour from Gatwick so I always think that just getting up an hour earlier makes sense versus a night in a hotel... I might have to start reviewing the hotels around Gatwick so I have a better excuse to spend an extra hour in bed!

Surprising they use a319s I’ve only had one in my 8 flights to and from there usually get the a320neo
This was last year between lockdowns... Nothing was normal!
@@MattsPlanet yeah I’ve got a flight booked in 4 weeks to Gibraltar on EasyJet but my last 3 have been cancelled
Are BA back at north terminal now then ? I went to GIB about two weeks before all of this nonsense kicked off, lovely weather and no restrictions on anything. What's the restrictions like on the ground mate ?
A few long hauls are back at North - Bermuda for example. In Gib few restrictions really - masks inside required (but often ignored) but as you eat and drink outside it's not a big impact

My advice to avoid those "inferior" rates: get a Revolut card/bank account if your country offers it.
I've used curve in the past but they're actually trying to make profits (crazy, I know!!!) but I feel a market review is in my future.... Perhaps a video will flow!
