I'm super inspired by the fact that this shoot was done in a back yard!! Like literally!!! I keep beating myself up thinking I need a super dope location but I don't. Thanks Jessica!!! THis is dope!
Hahah thank you! When I saw the table and chair I knew we could get something nice out of it. I guess it's all about taking something conventional and making it look special.
i just did a photo shoot in our backyard before I saw this video. The backyard looks run down and as if nobody would want to go out there, but it honestly gave us some of the best photos in a while.
Me too, it's a great feeling :) A lot of models I work with don't always give me that reaction, but hey, not everyone is the same :P But whenever we shoot Amelia always hypes me up! She really encourages me and I can be "myself" when I shoot...because of that I think I shoot much better.
Won't lie, it does make it easier to work with more experienced models! But I've shot with couples, seniors in High School, babies, new models etc. so you gotta make it work :P !!
I like this softer posing. It was really elegant. I'm a dance photographer so it's definitely more my wheelhouse in comparison to you work. Your grungy stuff is definitely some of my favorite stuff and it NEVER gets old, but I love how you changed it up in this one ♥️
As always you've taken some great shots. Your model was excellent however, I'm not crazy about this particular lens. Your captures with your 85mm or 50mm have such wonderful Bokeh that isn't present in these shots. Your direction and instructions about the use of this particular lens in dampened (cloudy) lighting as opposed to direct sunlight was very helpful. Thank you for sharing this. I really enjoy your work.
Thanks Jessica, I really enjoyed the feel of this video, the birds chirping, the soft blowing wind, the picket fence with that old hometown feel, the sexy sultry model. Conveying these same elements into photos is the real magic.
For school I had to choose a person that inspires me ♥️ I wrote your name as your channel is amazing and you are an amazing photographer ♥️♥️♥️ I hope to be like you
Hey Jessica!!!I absolutely love your videos and of course your photography!! I've had my Canon DSLR for just over a year now and moving into my senior years at school I can now explore photography in my art classes, as it is a passion of mine, especially fashion photography as fashion is something I love! I was just wondering what camera settings you use, I typically use AV or P and I just adjust the ISO and that depending on where I'm shooting. In future, I would love to see a video about it as there are so many different variations out there and at the moment I am just playing around with so many different variations and settings until I find something that is perfect for each photo! Thank you so much, your are actually amazing, like you are now literally one of my idols, I seriously cannot fault anything you do! You've taught me so so much about ways in which to take photos and helped me to extend my self-taught photoshop skills! When I finish school I now hope to go to university to study a degree in photography, which will be a dream come true! So I can definitely say that you have played a big part in who I hope to become in the future, so I literally cannot thank you enough! Please keep doing what your doing it is truly incredible!! xxx
She more than likely shoots in RAW format, so she used the Camera RAW editor along with Adobe Lightroom (I'm guessing). I use Photoshop more for the type of work that I do, but my guess is she uses Lightroom for her editing. Those edits looked like just basic color-correction to me.
Love this shoot so much! The lighting is definitely on point! What a lovely location too, reminds me that I can shoot basically anywhere! Love it Jess!
You're such an amazing photographer!! And what an amazing model! Both of you really know what you're doing! It makes me want to get a camera and take a stab at it :)
I loooooooove this!! I love al these videos of you. But where does the good light come from when you're shooting in shadow? How do you notice? Where is the sun? In front of her or? So many questions haha
She should make a video on using different cameras like iPhone or a Galaxy. For people to get motivated and start off Photography with everyday cameras like cellphones
the energy that JK creates with her models and other photographers makes these videos super fun to watch, it's like unch of friends having super fun moments, while subtly JK applies all the tricks of the trade of professional photography that's why she ends up with stunning photos ! i just have a question how do you manage to include music without being copywrited ?
Hi Jessica, are you shooting automatic? Av? Fully manual? Thanks. I tried making portrait shoots of my Mum in Venice in fully manual. But I always needes to check my settings to get the right exposure so it was kind of tricky. What do you recommend for portrait photography? Thanks.
Hey Jessica, I took a photo with the same settings (and natural lighting) as in these photos, and only the AF point was in focus, not the whole model like in your photos? Ive tried experimenting, but cant get it right unless the f-stop is around 22?
A true photographer in her element! You can see the joy in both of them! Thanks for uploading!!! Makes me want to go out and shoot!
thank you for watching :) !!
Me too, but I don't have anyone to shoot :D
I'm super inspired by the fact that this shoot was done in a back yard!! Like literally!!! I keep beating myself up thinking I need a super dope location but I don't. Thanks Jessica!!! THis is dope!
Destiny Johnson So tru I'm learning you jus need a small part of the loca to be bomb and you're good !!
I thought i was the only one. Thinking about locations sucks.
Hahah thank you! When I saw the table and chair I knew we could get something nice out of it. I guess it's all about taking something conventional and making it look special.

I love it when you show the model your photos mid-shoot and they love them - best feeling :')

This is my favourite thing too! 😍
Man I wish I had models that know what theyre doing, make taking photos so much easier
Also, need to see how you edited those, very beautiful!
Won't lie, it does make it easier to work with more experienced models! But I've shot with couples, seniors in High School, babies, new models etc. so you gotta make it work :P !!
Ugh I need model friends! I miss taking portraits!
co-ordinate with amateur models on modelmayhem.com to coordinate a free shoot
I have arrived! haha
@thehayleysofar You and i have the same Problem! lol!
the best thing I did was start approaching random people for their portrait.
I don’t own a camera yet but I too need model friends...
I like this softer posing. It was really elegant. I'm a dance photographer so it's definitely more my wheelhouse in comparison to you work. Your grungy stuff is definitely some of my favorite stuff and it NEVER gets old, but I love how you changed it up in this one ♥️
Like you can do some of the coolest stuff, and your work looks good no matter what you do. You really know your stuff, and I love it.
Thank you so so much
You are an inspiration. I am just learning to make photos (not take photos!) and your videos make me excited to learn more ! :)

Calvin Hicks I love bokeh however Jessica's not crazy about bokeh.
Yeah I don't really like bokeh to be honest...so the 24-70 lens is really more my style. Thank you for your comment :)
yep - bokeh at weddings - everyone is invisible except the bride - lol
Thanks Jessica, I really enjoyed the feel of this video, the birds chirping, the soft blowing wind, the picket fence with that old hometown feel, the sexy sultry model. Conveying these same elements into photos is the real magic.

May I suggest that you include focal length when you post exif data? There's a huge difference between 24mm and 70mm.

Loveee youuu Jessica ❤️❤️❤️
How are you hitting shots continuously.. I don't hear a focusing sound.. How do you choose focus points? 😯
Love ur photos
OMG .. I really like your video so much
I love how your model will be in one position and you tell her to do something and she just gracefully falls into the pose
Hey Jessica, I took a photo with the same settings (and natural lighting) as in these photos, and only the AF point was in focus, not the whole model like in your photos? Ive tried experimenting, but cant get it right unless the f-stop is around 22?
Do you only edit them in Lightroom or in photoshop?
