We visited Cafe Rider Custom in Dubai earlier this week; a biker hangout, work shop, cafe and restaurant.
A Paul Smart Ducati, Norton Commandos, Harleys and a Himalayan, as well as some very interesting cars!
And I view some of the vehicles in the local industrial area.

It's certainly interesting to see places like Dubai, but yeah it's not something I'd ever have interest in going to. The disgraceful human rights not-withstanding, it seems very.. artificial? Both in an obvious sense of "this city exists in spite of the natural hostility of the region", but also things like this cafe. It looks fine, in a admittedly generic way, but also no-one there is wearing bike gear, and no-one seems to be paying any attention to the bikes, sat often with their backs to them. No-one's stood over by the bikes with a coffee discussing them. It's like they saw a biker cafe elsewhere in the world and went "that looks cool, let's copy it" without having that original passion for why they exist.

I’ve been in Dubai and Abu Dabi for work and I sincerely don’t understand why people now go there for hols. It’s expensive, there are no real unique spots to visit because the country is barely 80 years old, their human values are crap (against women, gays, immigrants)…I mean there are many better places to go for beaches and culture with better prices and human values. Sure there are nice cars, luxury items and big skyscrapers (everything is big there) but for me it’s not worth it…it’s kind of a bling-bling place.
    Anyway enjoy !

Couldn't wait to get home from work to watch this. The motorcycle culture in different countries is so interesting.
The MidnightStar by the way is a Yamaha, I think in the UK they did a 1300cc and a 1900cc. A very interesting alternative to a Harley?

    Freddie on a Harley?
    That's a challenge to imagine.
Kind of like James Bond driving a Trans Am.
Or Paddington eating a Big Mac.
    Wearing a baseball cap. Backwards.

I was in Dubai for a few months back in 2001 and it was so much smaller and quieter then. Politics aside, I must say that everyone I met then, locals and expats, were both generous and welcoming to a fault.
My uncle had a few Harley's so on a few occasions we'd take off out of the city with him and his mates and go out to the various other states in the Emirates. Great riding experience but I could see it getting old fast compared to the riding you'd get in Europe.

You are showing us a city most will never either want to visit, or be able to afford to. Very much a celebrity playground! (But I can see the appeal for young men). I watch Wild Lens, who bikes through the Middle East, for the same reason I watch you and Monika, to see places I will never go to, through the eyes of a traveller with integrity.

48k kilometers is nothing on that bike. Friend of mine has one from the same year with over 220k kilometers on the clock and it still runs like a champ. the clue is to follow up the services with the correct intervals and to keep on top of the routine maintenance.

Freddy, I'm glad you went and shared your experience in Dubai. It appears to be Las Vegas on steroids. I had some friends that worked there for three years. They shared pictures, but your vlog is much more revealing of what it's like. I get why Dubai is controversial, but traveling and experiencing does not require an endorsement of the places we go. Ironically you don't hear as much controversy about visiting Isreal from Europeans, and Americans but in many ways, the issues are the same. I appreciate that you went and shared your experiences. Looking forward to your next adventure.

    Hi there,
Firstly I’d like to stress that I’m a proper fan and have been watching your videos for ever.
Secondly, I hope you don’t mind, but I would like to ask something regarding a technical aspect of your videos. Since I appreciate the production value you put in these videos.
What are the settings of your Rose Go2? I use the same setup connected to my iPhone 13 Pro Max but I feel the sound is so squashed. On your videos it sounds awesome even with the mic close to Freddie’s face.
Also do you use the audio the IPhone records or the internal recording?
I continue to be a fan and thank you if you feel you can answer my question.
Peace and love from Holland 🕺🏻

C'mon Freddie stop feeding us yet another bike you would like own; let's face it, until some manufacturer/dealer wants in exchange for a freebie a year or two of promo it's doubtful you'll be sitting on anything but the Bonnie.
