One of the most beautiful things I've seen. It's amazing that even in slow motion, the wings still look like they're beating crazy fast.
One of these little guys flew into my room at dusk a while back. The joy of being able to have one perched on my finger even if for only a few moments....Priceless.
The hummingbirds in the fountain at the end are just breathtaking.

Oddly enough, it wasn't the wings holding my attention. I've never seen their tail feathers spread before and watching their feet as they land is amazing. I love sitting and watching humming birds zip around a feeder. Makes me wish I had a slowmo camera. Amazing vid!

it's cool how their head stay still and straight forward, while their wings flapping constantly
It's because they use their whole body to stabilize their heads, such that they can drink the nectar from the flowers. It's a bit like Olympic runners: You will see their whole body move, but their head always stays in the same position at the exact same height. This is especially true for hurdling.
I know it's a bad comparison, but it's the best one I can come up with.

At first, some of the hummingsbirds look plain, but then they´re shiny and colourful like a gem. This is awesome! And just because there´re small air bubbles in their feathers.

It's so fascinating how hummingbirds are far more aeronautically stable and precise than the most advanced fighter jets of today. There is still so much to be learned from what's right in front in front of us.

Thanks for sharing this video. It's wonderful to see these beautiful hummingbirds in slow motion. When I go outside, I see hummingbirds & they fly & flutter so fast. So, it's cool to see this in slow motion. I recently bought a swimsuit with hummingbirds & butterflies on it because hummingbirds & butterflies remind me of good things such as my Grandma's garden. I had an ex-boyfriend who loved hummingbirds so much that he had a hummingbird tattoo on his leg. Many people love hummingbirds. :-)

the first thing ive noticed is they can fly backwards instead. Unlikely other birds, they have to turn around flying. Captivating.

I've found they don't like to share at the feeder. Individual ones get aggressive with other hummers who approach. Surprising to see so many at the feeder.

Are their tails like little rudders? Every time they hover, or they come to a stop, their tails do a flicking motion. This is interesting. I like it!

My family and I had a wonderful trip to Yosemite in the end of this May. We saw some humming birds there and we were deeply touched by its beauty! We want to go visit those lovely birds again and hopefully we can get a close look of those birds. And I think the feeding set in this film is great! I would like to know,as a tourist,where can I buy those equipments?and is it fine to feed wild birds in the U,S,A!?

I just did the math. For a hummingbird that weighs exactly 2 grams to consume 10 calories a day, that would be the equivalent of a 150 pound adult consuming over 340,000 calories a day.
Только идиоты работают одними операциями умножения либо деления. Есть миллион других характеристик материалов типа упругости, жесткости, прочности и т.д. Если увеличить шмеля или колибри до размеров кита, то они бы вообще не могли взлететь никогда в жизни без изменения формы тела, крыльев и т.д.
