Hat's off to Geoff, he cut his teeth in the late '80's with John Martin and Jeff Smith on Can-Am, riding out of Duluth, MN, he still has the speed and control after all these years!
I've got a 2019 WR 450F. I haven't got the competition ECU in it yet because their on backorder though Yamaha. I actually moved the stock bars ahead to 1.5+ with a 1 1/8" bar riser because I ride standing most of the time. The 2019 WR 450s weight and softer suspension isn't the best on MX tracks, but the bike is a great all-around dirt bike.
I was really thinking about putting my bars up in the forward holes till I watched this awesome video. How tall are you? I’m 6’2 and I feel like these bars are further back than I like them. Maybe it’s an illusion? Wanted to get your feedback. Thanks.
Hey mate, are the bars already set in that forward position or have they previously been adjusted from stock positioning? You could do some testing to see if you feel more comfortable with them slightly further forward due to your height, we would recommend you don't stray too far from that original setting as it will impact the bikes handling.
@@MxstoreAustralia they are in the factory position. Now that I’ve been on a couple rides the factory bar position feels really good to me. I think I’ll keep them there. Thanks !!
I just bought a 2019 YZ450fx and could feel something was not right instantly. My 2017 450FX was much more comfortable but just like you said, it's because the seat is too low. I don't know what the yamaha guys were thinking on that, I love the bike otherwise.
Why did they take the kick starters off because whenever I’m in the hills an doing enduro if I fuk up an stall the slopes an stuff I’m on the Electric start hardly ever works you just get backfires an stuff an ye I do let it sit abit before trying it an rolling the bike abit so it’s not on top dead but I fuking hate the no kick start
Great information from a bloke who knows his stuff 👌
Just traded into one of these. I’m used to an rmz 250. Wow the power this thing makes.
You won't look back, the WR is a beast 💪🏼
@@MxstoreAustralia dude traded me a 2019 WR 450F straight up , for a 2009 DRZ 400. Deal of a lifetime.

That’s right team YAMAHA 😍
A few clicks here n there its an amazing bike at the least
Absolutely!
When he talks about sticking to standard he had flash backs of the XR days haha
I found my 18 yz250 felt goofy due to lower seat to pegs height. Now I'm used to it.

Great info
I see the light !
so this bike is a definitely win over ktm 250tpi ??
How does Geoff setup his KTM ?? would be a good vid
Keep it stock but changed 10 things lol
Keeps close to stock, yet made it comfy for himself ! If you ever rode a bike you would understand !
i have purchased a ballads pivot assist clutch lever - what do you do with the switch to allow starting in gear?
MXstore what is Geoff doing on the rear brake with an 8mm bolt? I couldnt quite pick up what he was saying??
Replaced stock socket head head brake pad pins with aftermarket ones that have an external hex. The factory ones strip out really easy.
Which KTM 350 are you comparing it to ? EXCF or XCF ?
He's in Australia so it would most likely be the exc-f

Yes I agree no Kickstart seems just wrong and can definitely leave you stranded if your battery Is low
Do you know if you can register those in Qld? recreation rego maybe?
Yep 100% road legal
awesome vid thanks heaps for the info :)
How heavy is Geoff Ballard?
He's about 80kgs
I don’t get how to use the maps
