We had these sirens at first in Canada, but there was a problem with a bunch and they didn't meet Canadian standards. The Canadian government cancelled B&N's contract and had CLM make a range of warning sirens instead, or so I've heard. Most of those sirens were basically variations of Britain's sirens and probably much better built than the B&N units. Looking at this Mobil Directo, it seems really well-built regardless. What's even rarer than these is the Wisconsin engine-powered units. Probably rarer than even Chrysler's air raid siren. Of course, B&N had changed and the Mobil Directo was modified into the more common Allertor. A few changes were made like the rotator mechanism was simplified and chain-driven, I think. I have never been a fan of using V-Belts in heavy equipment and think they can be a bane in the power equipment industry. I wouldn't have thought that American made sirens were sold in Germany, but this is an interesting one. If you think that siren's big, imagine having one of those positive displacement blown behemoth towers sitting in your back yard. I am trying to remember the brand of those German designed sirens.

@@utahsirens The VFD I am getting now is a Schneider ATV610. They are very stable in that respect. You have to change the drive function to fan function. That means high starting current.

@@sitech9261 I had that same issue with VFDs too sadly, I found that you have to go double the size of the motor. Heavy load
