Great video demonstrating the difference and the gains in between each other of the mark 545. I would have never known that making an exhaust mod with open up the cylinder and creating more flow and increase power. Thank goodness I have a great teacher that I can rely on and give me some really great informative information. Keep those videos dropping.
Yes! If you are still running the stock muffler, you definitely need to modify it or build something for it. Get that heat out & let it breathe. They run like a different saw with a muffler mod! My ported & muffler modded 545 runs a 24” 3/8 drive full comp all the time. It will pull a 28”, but I like the balance better with the 24”.
@Kirks_Custom_Chainsaws my lil 355t has an Egans straight shot and it really woke it up. Some people complain about the noise but never customers and the difference is night and day in the cut
Congratulations on your saw! Unfortunately, I’m not fabricating for production/sale. I’m just a hobbyist making things for my saws. Sorry man! Look up Matt house on FB or Houseworksaws on YT. He’s a buddy of mine, he should be able to build you what you want. Cory Corp is another excellent builder who does a lot of muffler mods, check him out on FB, he will also help you out. 👍🏻👍🏻
I made both of them. The one on the black saw is a modified stock muffler, and the other one is a made from emt conduit. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions, & Saw Safe!
@@Tree.destroyer I've thought about it, but right now, I'm not really set up for "internet sales" for lack of a better term. definitely something I'm looking into though.👍🏻
There are definitely gains to be had with a modded muffler. On top of that it may reduce temps, but that is speculation and unknown. Would make sense, but it may only be a minimal amount of degrees once you get to operating temp. Should try it and take temps after a bunch of cuts in a row. Curious to see actual results.
That is a great idea! I might just have to do that in the near future. Would make a great video! I know on some of the other saws I've done, I could literally feel the difference in temperature on my hands. But, they were ported and muffler modded. Will be interesting to see! 👍 Saw Safe
In the long run. You will be better off with the pipe. Heat kills saws. Pipe will keep the heat out of the saw. Stock muffler design on the "5" series saws is absolutely horrendous. For some reason Husqvarna has a wide open can on the 592xp 😮. I wonder 🤔 😏 😉 why.
Man I couldn’t agree with you more! Every saw I own is muffler modded or has a pipe of sorts. As far as the 5-series, the 545 & 572 mufflers weren’t that bad (if my memory serves me correctly) but the 562 was absolutely horrendous! I don’t understand why some & not others. Something worth looking into though… Thanks for the comment!👍🏼 saw safe!

Thank you Brother! I appreciate the kind words!👍 Saw Safe!
Excellent video! I muffler mod every saw that passes through my hands. It’s totally worth it and gets heat out of the cylinder.
Absolutely! I do the same! some of them I may get just a little carried away with though🤣🤣 But it's all in good fun & fabrication!👍🏻
That was a good gain with the modded muffler. Thanks for showing!
Thank you and Thanks for watching!👍 Saw Safe!
Great video! Let's get this channel to a 1000 subscribers... he deserves our support!!

Dude, wife got me a 545 for Christmas. Can I please order a muffler from you??

Thanks for sharing the names of people who can potentially help people like me who can’t do their own fabrication! And thanks for the videos!
Looking for a new muffler for my 550 mark 2 where did you get this one?
