    3:56 OMG! I remember speaking about my back/SIJ in terms of “injury”. 😂. And to be fair to myself, the pain was severe enough that my mind could only perceive that an injury must have occurred, despite the evidence. This is why it is SO important to change how you speak-to others and yourself. I had to practice rephrasing the way I spoke about pain. I stopped saying injury and I was rigorous about ceasing alllllll talk that was centered around diagnosis. In order to capture your own belief, you really must reject medical terminology. Stop taking ownership of your symptoms! When you say “I have X pain or symptom”, your brain is listening and it will keep giving you symptoms.

      I like the word “capture” in “capture your own belief.”

    I am a huge fan of Lorimer’s. What I find freeing about both his message and yours is that freedom from chronic pain/symptoms does not necessarily require a specific set of actions. Rather it is a shift in how we THINK. In my situation, freedom from chronic pain came BEFORE taking any deep dives into specific actions such as journaling, intentional mindfulness, etc. I’ve been free from chronic pain since last year, but have only recently taken up things like journaling and mindfulness hobbies. So, I hope people understand that the essential change is really in how you think and perceive yourself and your life; moment-by-moment. That new way of thinking becomes THE way and the symptoms will ease … then leave.

    I feel like the fact that there’s nothing wrong with me, and it’s all generated by the brain and nervous system, Makes me even more scared. Because now I know that no treatment will fix it and it’s a part of my neural pathways now, which are hard to forget. It also makes me think, if this is generated by the brain because it perceives danger, what can be next ? I think this concept just created a new level of fear for me. How do I deal with that and move on to the idea of safety ?

      If the brain can create symptoms from perceived danger, it will turn them off with safety. The brain and nervous system is working perfectly. It's just operating on misinformation and fear. Correct the misinformation with accurate knowledge, dial down the fear and you can and will get better. Your job? Know that you ARE okay. You are not broken emotionally, physically or mentally. I teach daily how to do this. You ARE in the right place. Try not to create any secondary fear of your brain or fear of fear.

    Although I believe this to be true for body pain, it's very hard to me to accept this is true for food intolerances, especially delayed reaction ones where candida comes out and causes the inflammation. So many people are able to cure this by taking supplements, detoxing, infrafred saunas, diets etc, where brain retraining fails. I never used to believe in leaky gut, always went for "it's the brain" but I have tried and tried and tried, becoming so brave with reintroducing foods etc, and yet I STILL get the symptoms, no matter what I try with my brain, and believe me I have tried for a few years now, I can't get any reduction in symptoms at all, they just won't stop coming. So now I've had a rethink about all of this where food is concerned and I've had a change of heart, it must be something physical thing that's going on in us all, especially given the amount of people who are unwell where food is concerned, and there must be some kind of gut issue going on that needs directly looking at and healing, not just scared brain.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Рік тому +1

      Simply put, stress suppresses the digestion and immune systems. Perhaps being in the stress response about our gut issues and other life events is what causes digestion to be sub-optimal which allows these things like candida to develop. Trying to resolve with supplements or a perfect diet may not work well if you do not address the cause. Perceived danger in the brain. Hope that helps and makes sense.

      With consistent messages of safety, you will obsess less and less. It is perfectly normal for anyone with chronic pain or symptoms to be hyper-focused on it. Question please - I didn’t have an accident but I think I have irritated nerves in my lower glutes/sit bone area. No idea why I have it, maybe i sit too much because of day job etc! When I first noticed the sensations it did freak me out and I was worried sick it was something serious! Could this be classed as TMS? I think it is possible but also possible that due to inactivity I’ve caused this myself! I scored very highly on your TMS test! Having physio doing lots exercises and noticed some improvements but it’s been going on for 6/7 months. Would love your thoughts please x

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Рік тому

      Scoring high on the pain test means your brain is creating the symptoms. That means you can teach your brain your body is fine and the pain can go away. Try not to look for how you "hurt yourself". You didn't sit too much. Our bodies are not that frail or easily broken that sitting caused 6-7 months of pain.

      What if you are actually perfectly fine and it's fear and the brain perceiving danger that is causing all the symptoms? We cannot run for testing every three weeks to be sure. The best way to know is to do the assessments to see how your symptoms are behaving. Both assessments are on my getting started page:
      www.PainFreeYou.com/start
      If you score 30 or more on the pain test, it's TMS, not some illness/injury.
      If you even check off one or more of the items in the FIT assessment on the getting started page, your brain is creating the pain, not some damage or illness.
      You are in the right place. Recovery from fear is the name of the game.

      I still believe that perceived danger in the brain is what causes pain. CRPS is a medical label for long term pain where the pain is out of proportion to the severity of the initial injury. However, if there is fear and the brain perceives danger, the pain can be high. The intensity of the fear dictates the intensity of the pain. These videos will help explain more. See how that fits for you.

    And even if the damage is there ....ie small fibre neuropathy post vax - do you feel dr Sarno work is so powerful here ? Would love to hear your thoughts on the structural issue. Xx from Australia

      If I recall correctly, I heard Dr Schubiner speak to the idea that this type of neuropathy is TMS. So, the answer to your question may be yes. Which is great news and worth the assumption.

      @@Hinz2005 yes I heard him mention it for a second- but I thought it was regards to an unknown cause - my cause was the covid vax - and since then it has progressed which is distressing of course .... and the nerve damage is visible .... but I'd like to think I can flip it and heal

      @@monnmar1 hi! I am sorry you are experiencing this. I remain convinced that symptoms like yours can also be resolved with a MindBody approach. Our bodies are regenerative by default. That’s great news. Your symptoms can resolve and I suspect would resolve faster and with greater ease if you assume a MindBody approach.

      @@Hinz2005 thank you. Working on a mind body approach at the moment ..... so hopefully I can come back and say....I did it !!! It's just hard as the vax injuries have been so scary for a lot of us ...as we don't know what it's done to manh

      @@monnmar1 I understand. There’s an extraordinary amount of fear in all that happened the past 3 years. The pain I experienced began during this time as well. I’m certain the pandemic was one of several factors. If you can, try to let go of what you feel is the cause. Give yourself wholly to this solution instead. Channeling your thoughts into safety and the absolute joy that this approach can bring--that’s the secret sauce! I was telling my husband last night that nowadays it cracks me up when my mind will hit the default setting of “cause & effect”. We humans are wired to search for patterns. For meaning. For this, you have zero’d in a cause. But even that assumption doesn’t help. Ruminating on the past doesn’t serve you or your human right to experience health and vigor.
      I would challenge and encourage you to throw your assumption out the window of a very tall building. No more injury groups. No more googling. Stop looking at anything to do with what you think happened. Lean into the amazing capacity we have to heal emotionally and physically. Nurture your mind with safety. Let go of any guilt that you made a decision or were even coerced. Change your mind and your body will come along with you.
      I am so glad you are here! Watch Dan’s videos every day and enjoy your newfound freedom!

    Hahaha that made me laugh about the reflux comment. I only meant irritation or damage in the sense of like...if a baby has diaper rash and nobody is ever wiping its butt, it will keep stinging. If acid is refluxing over and over again into the esophagus, wouldn't it keep that location irritated in the same sort of way?
    Even so, the solution is still not to change diet, but to show indifference regardless, right?

      Yes, but stressing about it ensures it will continue.

    I saw a webinar recently, Dr. Eleanor Stein at University of Calgary. She referred to Mosely and Butler and quoted them saying that ANY type of chronic pain can be resolved, using your ideas and approach. Once pain is chronic, it proves that frightened brain is stuck in overdrive.
    Thx for every day cheerleading us into pain-free existence 🤍
