honest not biased review... awesome dude... can you do a review on why honda and suzuki are falling behind in the super sport bikes and not updating their products?
It's true Honda and Suzuki are lagging behind in the Supersport stakes. But, honestly, the entire segment is in danger of becoming obsolete. There have been no new 600s for years and with Honda winding down development of the CBR600RR the signs for the category are not good.
Great video loved it excellent quality picture good dialogue easy to understand and appreciate I have a 959 and love it pity about our roads in the uk or the weather at the moment, love the way it hooks up out of the corners just right for the road and the track keep up the nice quality vids and keep safe
I did about 25 miles on one once. It's a pretty extreme position, and it cooks your nuts a bit, but I figured if I were being chased on the road, there would be few bikes I'd rather be on. It did win the bike I'd most want to stare at competition though.
Got a test ride on one in couple of weeks (as well as a diavel) wohooooo cant wait but think my mind has already been set on the Panigale and can see my getting one regardless if it doesn't fit or not as so so sexy!.
He hit the nail on the head “if you want to learn to ride fast first learn to ride one of these”. It makes perfect sense, after all this is Ducati’s entry level super bike. Why pay more for the v4 unless you want to race. Also I think the v4 would be pretty frightening for your average rider, don’t get me wrong this bike has plenty of poke believe me I own one. Not that I’m prejudice, but it goes good, stops good, handles good, sounds good, and oils damn sexy. What more do you want in a bike?
Diavel is too heavy for my purpose mine purpose is daily riding making short videos, going in tight places, as traffic in my city is so tight, riding a heavy bike like diavel no way lol I was looking forward to get few feed back about the hypermotard and some has lots of complaint about it
Kawi z800 or Triumph street triple 675 if you want a sporty commuter. I commute on my supersport but it's purely out of spite and I ride any chance I can get. I can't afford two bikes so I bought the type I wanted the most
I know this is a awesome bike, but how is the fit and finish, will the paint and the clear coat hold up,I know it sounds like a dumb question, but when I am spending that kind of money, well I need to know
world superbike standing totals.( ducati is rank 1. seasons 1988-2015 race wins 314 . manufacture titles 17) honda 118 wins. yamaha 74 wins. kawasaki 69 wins. aprilia 50 wins. suzuki 32 wins. bmw 12 wins. these are the totals from 1988-2015 of world supper bike. who is on top? DUCATI. i will gladly pay more for a Ducati.
Blimey, the displacement wars are just getting stupid. Used to make sense with the 996 and 748 being middle weights/super bikes. Now the middle weight is 959 while the super bike grew to the same as the first Hayabusa 1299? Sheesh, just make the 959 into a 999 already. When I buy my Ducati middle weight, I want a liter bike!
I never was a fan of Ducati until I saw a stock 959 Panigale smoke a stock S1000RR in a drag race. That thing has some torque! I bet it is amazing on the track too from the looks of it.
It wasn't. Went through 2 motors, 4 sprags, 3 sets of LED taillights, one set of fork seals, and various visits for fuel mapping, etc. All in 18 months and only 10,000 miles.
Too bad the down quickshift doesn't work, you would think they would have gotten it by now. Another thing I don't like is the round muffler under the seat, it's just ugly as hell. Some positive notes though, I LOVE the headlights! Most sport bikes only ride with one when you ride unless you turn on the high beams, with Ducati, you get to ride with both on which looks awesome! The body styling although it's been around a while now looks amazing. The color schemes in my opinion are lame though. If Ducati made some like Suzuki was doing years ago, they had some of the best paint schemes if you ask me. I'm VERY excited about the new GSX-R that is coming out and what it'll offer. It's gonna get very interesting with the new GSX-R, Ninja and CBR which is due for a refresh as well.
Had a 969, have a Multi 1200s. Thought about trading in the Multi for this - but after a test drive, I left thinking what the hell just happened. The 959 Panigale is SLOWER than my 969, it does not want to turn in, it does not want to lean, it has no torque and the ergonomics are just horrid beyond horrid. The Multi will clean it's clock in EVERY respect, and that's saying a lot for a bike that is twice as tall and 100lb heavier. At 15K, this is one horrid little bike. Given that fact that it does not even have a single swing arm, I regret the day I sold my 969.
Night Rider damn. You are the first person to say this out of like 10 videos and hundreds of comments and article reviews I have read. Maybe you were just in wet mode?
I call bullshit. The 959 is the most flickable bike I’ve ever owned and/ridden. So if “it doesn’t want to turn” for you, you might want to start going to the gym. On a very twisty canyon, maybe the Multi can take on the 959 with a very experienced rider. But on track? LMFAO! I’d love to see your Multi or 969 keep up. If you think the 959 is slow and has no torque, you’ve either never ridden one or you were on WET mode. Lol.
i think they should make the 959 with more relaxed ergos that can be easily adjusted for aggressivness , but im not being payed to make decisions at ducati either
+theGREEK7887 Sort of... It's the closest thing you'll get to a Ducati supersport bike and it's not much faster than an R6, so you could call it a middle class machine, yes.
I'd like to see the rebirth of the 750 class and bring the Japanese competition up to the 959 - how cool would it be if Yamaha bought out a new YZF-750!
Rennie Scaysbrook it would be pretty cool to see an 700 or 800 class cbr or ninja. I think triumph should put a bigger camin their 1050 and make a liter bike so they would have two sportbikes
+Erik J www.sportrider.com/ducati-848-vs-suzuki-gsx-r750-expect-unexpected seeing as how professional riders are a second per lap quicker, I highly doubt that. If you would have said "I'm faster on an 848", I would have likely concurred, and said something to the effect of "it's all up to the rider and what they're best on." But you didn't, and made a blanket statement, which is demonstrably incorrect. It's clear you're a fanboy, and nothing will change your view, but know that for the price (and displacement) Ducati has been behind the Japanese for a long, long time.
Thank you for the straight forwardness of this review.
Great video on this bike, first one I've seen. Rider looked really comfortable and smooth.
+Andrew Van Vossen Thanks Andrew. It's a great bike, really is.
Literally just bought one. Can’t wait to take it on the highway this weekend
Congrats and enjoy
how was it? trying to see if going from yamaha r1 to this let me know what your honest opinion is about this bike ty!!

Cycle News wow.. thats some very bad news.... anyhow, i still enjoy you guys honest reviews and keep up the good work. thanks guys
some people say the seats get really freaking hot.
They can, but not as bad as the underseat 848 models.

great review man... I definitely want this bike!
US version will have exhaust under the engine or no?
+mdlman00 Yes - we will have the nice looking one. Europe gets the big double barrel exhaust muffler.
+Rennie Scaysbrook thanks for the info, Ill be getting one once they are released here =)

yeah but not having the single sided swing arm. cost savings?
+Hao Lee The 899 didn't have one either. It would look good with one!
Is this good for daily commute and for long distance riding ? and does it have the riding modes and power modes ?
Hi I was told by many that you use the sports bike for daily commute and is hypermotard also not good for daily commute?
Diavel is too heavy for my purpose mine purpose is daily riding making short videos, going in tight places, as traffic in my city is so tight, riding a heavy bike like diavel no way lol I was looking forward to get few feed back about the hypermotard and some has lots of complaint about it
Try a naked bike. The BMW S1000R (single R) is a great bike for the road. And the Ducati monster 1200 is great too. Just my 2 cents
Kawi z800 or Triumph street triple 675 if you want a sporty commuter. I commute on my supersport but it's purely out of spite and I ride any chance I can get. I can't afford two bikes so I bought the type I wanted the most

Dont buy this bike
Night Rider hey hows ur butt
GAMING dog like mine it feels like kfc
Pryonto Sarker LOL right
Night Rider I rode on my cousins XD I want one for my first bike lol
1:02 does the rear tyre looked a bit flat?
hard exploration will flex the tire like that. same when/if the tire touches down again after getting some air

You forget they were racing 750 4 cylinder bikes. Once that changed so did the results
im not sure 899 or 959? What should i buy?
+Mali Morali If you want an 899 you better hurry! not many left
+Mali Morali if theyre the same price 959 for the gearing and revised chasis
+leighsa49 i ordered 2 weeks ago my 899.. i saw the new one 959. I don't like it very much and i spend 2500 euro with new 899.
+leighsa49 lol my dealership down here in fl still have 2014 899's
only thing my 899 is missing is a slipper clutch.. 959 has one standard

i own a 2015 899... n a 959 isnt touching a double R bmw on speed..
Went from a 1098S to an RSV4 to an MV Agusta triple...and now the 959. Hate all you want, I am enjoying the piss out of this thing.
TheX-666 how realiable was the MV?
It wasn't. Went through 2 motors, 4 sprags, 3 sets of LED taillights, one set of fork seals, and various visits for fuel mapping, etc. All in 18 months and only 10,000 miles.
I know this is a bit late, but how would you compare the 959 and the RSV4?
Somebody is selling this near me for 7500 usd is that a good price or to much and its mint condition
If it's good condition, it sounds like a decent deal. You'll have to do a thorough inspection, though.

+Rene G. Solis This is all personal taste though. I dislike the the busy graffiti style paint jobs. I much prefer Ducati's sleek mono-color look.
848 has cans under the seat.. 899 n 959 have them under the engine
@@Tuloth same
love it

Best honest comment here this bike sucks
No torque with almost 80 lbf⋅ft? Right...

"steering dampener"
my dream bike I don't need more power
you had me at hello!
this thing is close to 1000cc !!! its time for a v4 or L-4 as they call it !!
V4 now, 2018 baby
Lmao you called it. They literally call it V4 too lmao
i think they should make the 959 with more relaxed ergos that can be easily adjusted for aggressivness , but im not being payed to make decisions at ducati either
Maybe they should pay you, you just described the super sport basically lol.
@@mrglock568 lmao fr. This comment section is just killing it. I saw another dude from 5 years ago suggesting they make a V4 and look at it now lmao
So.. they went down to an 899 because the 1299 was too much, then went back up to a 959 because the 899 was too little? Wtf??
If it doesn't bite I don't want it
Is this suppose to be a middle class bike now?

its something between the gsxr 750 and the cbr 1000rr
so i guess this is not a begginers bike right ? lol
Can't understand a word he's saying. What language is it?
Englewisher
Australian. It's similar to English.
2018: Ducati makes 999cc motorcycle to compete with a Japanese 750.
It would be excellent if that were a coherent sentence. Maybe you could try again.
+Vaperators my Evo will destroy a 750. how's that? lmfao

I feel like Ducati needs to make an entry level sportbike. This 16,000 dollar bike is hardly entry level
What do you mean, if you have good credit and a few thousand saved up your good to go, youll pay like 200 a month maybe less
The Supersport is the entry level sport bike.
2030 ducati will present 1299 for 600cc category and 1546345645cc for 1000cc,fucking v-twin garbage!
