That washout SUCKED!!!! I wonder if it would have been worth looking into dumping the hopper once you were out of the mud with the accelerator? That stuff was cooked!!! Would have been handy to have one of them 18" long chisel bits for chipping out this one.
Great video Caleb. That is a looooooong day of shotcrete!

I need to get me one of those 18” bits for sure. I thought about dumping/washing out after a few trucks but was like F it. I was out of town and had nothing better to do to extended my billable hours lol.

Can't help but think it would be worthwhile doing a full clean out of the pump every say 2 hours or 2-3 truck loads, before any concrete sets. If it ain't set it would be quick only requiring the pressure washer.
The very first bit of concrete in sits in the bottom for the entire job. Setting hard.

That’s not fun but it made for an interesting video! Thanks for taking the time to film, I know it slows you down sometimes.

There’s lots of stuff I forget to film because I’m more worried about what I’m doing! I try my best to capture what I can.

Starting an engine with a wire as a routine is a sign of how much priority a company gives to maintenance, as a worker if company does not care why should I be careful using the equipment. If it was my company this would get fixed ASAP as the attitude minor issues not getting fixed/addressed creates an attitude among employees and those who deal with company the principals need to advoid. Nice job this is a large pool 80 yards WOW!! Ever consider gunite? Ray Stormont

I’ve been chasing that ignition problem since we bought the machine. I’ve installed a new key switch, starter, and put new connectors on (over $650). It doesn’t happen as much anymore but it still does it. My only two options left are to either rewire the whole thing or I may install a push-to-start button on the panel.

@@ConcretePumpingService Great to see you are not ignoring or putting off solving the problem. Sometimes it's just simpler to install a start button as you mentioned and put this issue in the rear view mirror. Thanks for responding. Ray Stormont

lol - made the mistake of saying it'll come out easy. I've done that to many times to count. I should know better.

It’s nice to show what a mixer driver has to go through sometimes to get that mud delivered.

@@ConcretePumpingService had a huge shotcrete job a few years ago replacing canal walls. 3000 yards across 3 months straight monday-saturday. I felt this comment every day after the first week.
