Hi Anna. I tried this recipe today. It is DELICIOUS! I was always hesitant to make a poppy seed filling, as I didn’t have a proper seed grinder…or so I thought. Running the seeds twice through a fine blade on my meat grinder worked so well! I am so grateful to you! And the taste for the filling beats any canned filling that I used to buy.
Keep the recipes coming! (Flaki?) Love from 🇨🇦!

    2. Drain the vegetables (do not rinse) and return to the bowl. Combine the remaining balsamic vinegar with the monk fruit in the raw stirring to partially dissolve the monk fruit in the raw. Add to the vegetables along with the garlic, chilies, apple cider vinegar with the mother and 1 cup of water. Toss and transfer to a quart jar or similar container, submerge by weighing with a heavy glass jar or plate and let stand for 48 hours.

    • @PolishYourKitchen
      @PolishYourKitchen  3 роки тому +2

Greka what I meant to say was that the canned poppyseed we have here in Poland is different, as it's already processed. If you buy raw poppyseeds in the States and follow the recipe it should be the same as we have here in Europe. I've made this cake many times when we lived in America with great results. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

Yep, that is a fact. You probably will come up positive. I've known people that have & it was a headache trying to prove it. Luckily, the supervisors of these people ate poppy seeds pastries & took the same test. Yes, they tested positive! You won't get high if you eat poppy seed but there is a real good chance you'll come back positive if taking a drug test.

Ever heard of a pastry cutter? Faster than knife kneading for butter.
Don't add music to a cooking video. Amateurs do this, not professionals. Hurts the ears.
Person behind the camera should not be commenting from the peanut gallery. Stick to filming please.
Speed up the video - 30 mins is way too long, shows a lack of editing and a lack of respect for viewer's time.
Wear an apron and put on a hair net - this is not hygienic.
You have to rest the dough for 30 mins at least before rolling it out. Keep it chilled. Don't reinvent classic dough techniques.
You don't know how to roll dough, or lay it in a pan without rat nibbles around it? You don't know how to trim pan? Use a knife.
You don't need a KitchenAid meat grinder to grind poppy seeds. Use a Shardor wet grinder cup (Amazon $40 and the best mini dry and wet grinder), or a small Cuisinart chopper, or a mortar and pestle, or a molcajete Mexican stone grinder. All work fine.
The egg whites are not stiff and half done. You are using the wrong tool. This is a MIXER, and you need a BALLOON WHISK for whipping egg whites or cream. Mixing is different from whipping. This mixer tool is for mixing ingredients but not beating air into them.
Very poor final finish and presentation. The dough is lumpy, top looks like a kindergartener made it. Good grief.
Good concept but needs to be redone properly, both cake and video. Take out the music!!!
    WARNING:
    www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_chem_info/unwashed_poppy_seed.pdf
Always wash your poppy seeds thoroughly whether white or black type. Unwashed seeds may be contaminated with the latex from poppy plant which has drug effects on you. Discard water they are boiled in, as this is also a mild drug.
Note that if you take a drug test within 3 weeks of consuming a large amount of poppy seed, you may fail it. Be sure to mention you ate poppy seed cake or bagels in your drug test.
All poppy seed comes from the Papaver Somniferum, the large Oriental poppy which produces opium.
The poppy seeds are 100% safe for adults or kids, but be sure to wash them off so all contamination is removed.
The tea from boiling is not safe to drink as it may have other contaminants.
