My life certainly improved for the 90 mins or so I watched Esperanza and her band kick butt at the SF Jazz Center back in 2015. Whew, I still think about that gig from time to time.

She is a true genius and her music is transcendent. It’s an awe inspiring experience to get to see/hear her in concert.

The experiential data has been here a long time. Music saved my life as I lived through abuse in many areas of my life, beginning as a child. I ran to it and the more I sang or played or participated in groups of musicians, I could face another day or hour or "trauma". We know and I remember and experienced the beating of my father before I was born. I felt the pain, I felt the brutal words and I have always known that we can be affected even before birth. I was also touched by my grandmothers singing. HOPE - I gained HOPE through music. This is not NEW. We are only now speaking about it because we have been made to slow down and consider. Let's do it, but maybe not just for money, but for health and care of one another.

This video is soooo good that i just had to sub. I was not expecting it to be this good. I just clicked for some background noise at 10% percent while i studied. Lets just say that volume did not stay at 10%

@56.34 - I would have answered with, Stevie Wonder answered that question with his song Sir Duke "YOU CAN FEEL IT ALL OVER!" Hello This shit a new. Folks been out here using music to heal for centuries... Hello Native Americans, Aboriginee's AfriKA!!!! They actin brand new. Like if science doesn't answer the question we won't believe it. We still walking round here acting like its all new IT'S NOT NEW!!!!! HELLOOOOOOO!!!!

I don't think anyone denied that. It's still useful to learn about the HOW in order to harness it better. And they are precisely looking at music practitioners which is probably a whole other ball park compared to just listening.
