The benefit of pre-built units is the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses do not suffer with long-term construction in the area. It’s eye opening to see the Swiss are able to build 34 units with a modular design in a time crunch.
We are doing the same here in the UK for housebuilding. I work for the UK's largest housebuilder. We have our own Timber Frame factories (2 of them). Where walls and rooms are fully fabricated in the factory. All electrical works, plumbing, doors, window fittings etc. All done to very high quality in a factory and then wrapped for delivery to the job site. We are also aiming for a 2 month onsite construction time untll handover. So very quick. The end product is a house that far exceeds the quality of a house that is constructed in situ.
By law all electric wiring has to be protected inside conduit! Remember we are dealing with 220V not 110V, that explains why it is illegal to do electrical work by yourself, all electric work needs to be performed by a certified electrician!
The natural wood and green is a look that McDonald’s is doing very broadly internationally. I’ve seen it throughout Europe, initially in Salzburg which has very stringent requirements for shops to fit into the existing feel of the city, but even as far as Australia modifying existing McDonald’s to the wood and green look from the legacy gold/yellow and red.
Great Video! What will the connection from foundation to modular look like? Recessed into the earth for level ADA access? Waterproofing around foundation?
CLT is an engineered wood product consisting of layers of kiln-dried dimension lumber (usually three, five, seven or nine) oriented at right angles to one another and then glued to form structural panels. By gluing layers of wood at right angles, the panel delivers excellent structural rigidity in both directions (copied from google)
I had to turn off after he referred to conduit as Smurf tube. Why do Americans have to make up stupid names or needlessly use acronyms for almost everything?

The level of precision is amazing. Swiss made is awesome even in construction.
That’s impressive, the finish quality both inside and out appears to be better than most commercial spaces here in the US when they’re complete.
Very good and interesting vid on a hybrid system: steel columns + wood beams. Only thing unmentioned is does the fastening together of units is done.
Interesting and informative. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you
You are a brilliant teacher. Thank you for EDUCATING! Basic knowledge for the layperson is so NEEDED. Again thank you

The structure of the plant itself at 04:15 + & - is interesting.

The black Pipe is PE = Polyethylen
Will you be able to get coverage of it being assembled
You’ll find smurf tube 😂 in literally every building in Switzerland
Recently they knocked down a gas station at my local mall & replaced it with a mcdonalds, so now i'm wondering if this is that one...
it seems so, in the beginning of the video i think you can see the former building (Migrolino Tankstelle) on the plans: 0:13
Can you tell me what CLT stands for? I'm an architect and I've never heard of the acronym before.

I think it means "Cross Laminated Timber".

In the industry, we pronounce it H-vack, not H V A C.
侧向支撑太少,造成整体刚度差,运输和吊装过程中容易开裂有微裂缝。
To absorb earthquake energy.
Also tastes way better, and of higher quality.
I don't know. I usually don't put my tongue on buildings. ;)
I'm not sure if you've noticed, but you've misspelled McDonalds in the title
🤣больше американских корпораций

Everyone does that. You just don’t realize the ones you’ve grown up with. It’s not an American thing at all.
