Instructor Extraordinaire Is your Title today. For small stream summer run steelhead, my favorite store bought spinner is the 3/8th oz Panther Martin with a gold blade and black body with yellow dots. It comes with a small but sticky sharp treble hook that lasts for one steelhead before you replace the mangled remains, and i use a siwash when i do.
Your color combos are spot-on, and you save lots of money with the end result of a better spinner by ordering components from Pen-Tac. Ive done really well with tarnished brass blades on brighter days. Thanks!

Thanks William! That Panther Martin, Gold blade with black body, is a good one. I had good luck with it on Wilderness lakes.

I have also caught Bass with the silver blade and black body spinner. Oregon has black/silver dragonfly’s in the summer, they must resemble the spinner to Bass. I believe you have caught Kokanee with these spinners too. 😊

Genuine Silver blades with a black body have been a good color for me, especially for steelhead. I’m not surprised bass hammer them too!

Do you know the overall weight of the completed spinner? Also, do you know if they make those small spinner bodies in tungsten for more weight while keeping the smaller profile? I always have trouble getting smaller spinners down in deeper moving water. Have never built my own but it looks fun and rewarding, I'm gonna look at getting some supplies ordered to try it out. Thanks for the video.

I just weighted one, it came in at .123 oz., so about an 1/8 oz. They only make them in brass, I’m not sure if other manufacturers make tungsten, but these lures are dense and get down in the water well. The larger sizes, like 3-5 have 2 body sizes, a standard and a heavy one. I do use the heavier ones for some of my steelhead spinners.
Thanks for the feedback, it’s appreciated.
