Excellent job, probably one of the safest splitters on UA-cam, with one suggestion. Please install a guard on the upper pulley on the operators side since it's spoked a hand could get caught in it.
Your dog is hilarious! He wanted to herd you first, the got very excited when you started the Lister! Ha ha Later on you could tell hebwanted to herd your splits! Bred into thst breed for sure!
really cool machine, but did you notice at 2:47 when you took the log from the kid and his blue glove got caught between you hand and the log? Now imagine what would happen if that same glove got wrapped around the splitter cone. You're crazy to wear gloves when you operate equipment like this.
Hello again, building mine next month, could I please ask at what revs you run the lister or what revs the cone is turning, many thanks great machine, some folk are cowards, others lack the imagination to see the fun in the danger ! Keep it up !
Hi Jackster. I am very impressed with your log splitter. It is the neatest most compact diesel splitter i have seen.It looks very well designed and fabricated.I have made my own electric screw-type log splitte last year and am very happy with its performance.I went for electric so as to not offend my neighbour with noise. However, after seeing how much more effective your machine operates i am thinking of going to diesel power.Could you please tell me what horsepower your Lister LT1 produces, what r.p.m you have at the screw and what size are your engine and screw pulleys are ? I have recently bought a 1956 petter AV1 from ebay to strip and recondition. It is 5 h.p @1500 r.p.m so would like to use this for a new splitter.Do you think these figures would be suitable ? I would be very grateful for any imformation you could give me regarding your build.Once again that is a vey nice splitter you have.congratulations on a fantastic construction.
I think its a great setup Listers use very little fuel and the diesel ones are better I would need 3 one like this a generator and one water pump 4 50 gal barrels of fuel and id be set on a 5 acre farm with live stock . I could hold out for a long time if the grid went down.
Nice Machine I have an LD which I can put to work out here on Vancouver Island. A couple of questions, did you make a screen to stop the little chips going through the flywheel fan and where did you by the screw part. Thanks Spider
This looks in some ways safer to use than a traditional piston style splitter. And faster. But how would it do on less seasoned wood? my fear would be it would brag a log and spin it like a drill.
Lister LT1, Ive tried searching but to no avail, I was wondering if you know the torque of that gorgeous engine/screw end... Now that is a thing of beauty...well done
nice its really fast and if you look at 4:13 you went threw a noot and it didn't bog down why pay $1.000 for a china motor when you can find one like this that last a life time.
Thats a India knock off of a REAL Lister engine that is very questionable for durability. Then, after you factor in the hearing aid you will soon need, the cost of that machine and fuel, the repairs and cost for the chainsaw, and the future medical bills for lifting that wood up so high, and the cost of having your arm twisted off when that glove gets into the screw: I say that with new cost of natural gas, buy a 900$ furnace, and use your strength and ambition in better ways. Sell it and live!

Hands down this is the best screw log splitter I have seen yet.
you made my comment for me
nice setup and even nicer to see the boy helping, work safe and work close.
Absolutely brilliant; must be the best home built log splitter on UA-cam. Great bit of engineering and a great use for an lt1 ! Thanks for posting.

Widać że to wspaniała i niezwykle użyteczna maszyna :)
Also nice to see the mandatory farm dog!
Excellent job

Thats the sexiest splitter I have ever seen and fast too. Looks like English Oak. Lister makes a great engine eh ?

Really nice splitter!
Never seen anything like this for sale in the UK! Or? Anywhere else come to think of it.

Very nice!
very nice engine

Lovely use for a LT, what speed is the screw turning ? the LT sounds at about 2,000 rpm would I be about right ?
Can you please tell me how many horsepower your Lister is and how many r.p.m the screw turns at ? Excellent video & a fantastc Log-Splitter.
Hi, Well built machine, has the dogs tail or any one else got into the belts yet? fit some covers!
Works well!!!
@cdimmm Thanks, And yes it from Poland.

Love it, I seen these screw splitters powered by electric. Need to find plans for one better, faster and seems safer then hyd power..
from the size of the wood, looks like he's making tooth picks and matches
what is the shaft size that screw is mounted on?
Quickest one Ive seen, still cant help but think there dangerous....
nice! What's the RPM of the screw?
how long does that cone last?
Is this a reverse rotation engine?
Yes , loads of them on ebay.
It's clockwise rotation, So no it is not reverse rotation.
*grab... wow.. stroked off there for a second.

needs a table on the infeed side
No, its seasoned for 2+ years....
dog saying oi oi oi leave my engine alone !
hi jack
Hi dan
@cdimmm I will ! , and about £75 to the United Kingdom
