These interviews are fascinating, Lisa, but I particularly enjoyed this one with Deborah! I've heard her speak and have taken a class with her in the past. I would recommend her to anyone. I love her work and she is SEW delightful!!
So enjoy following her process. Lots of good ideas--writing "illegibly" as a design element, the use of freezer paper to make a hand stitching guide, the foam stamp to mark with dilute paint!
Thank you so much for sharing, Deborah and Lisa! I learned some new hints for this technique and hope to be able to incorporate them as I learn and grow in my own art quilt collaging. Also want to say I was amused by calling your friend's fabric collection a "healthy stash"....that takes the guilt out of it!!!
Thanks to you both, so much, for this lovely video of Deborah's work! I am really enjoying watching your interviews, Lisa! You are both wonderful artists!
i just discovered your channel. i like to listen/watch while i sew. your quilt stories are excellent. i enjoy learning the techniques, about the artists life, about the artist's process, i'm inspired by the quilts and people.

This quilt art piece reminds me of the art of Grandma Moses.

@@DeborahBoschert Got your book since, now just need to find time to get to work!
How do you cut out such intricate shapes. After it is fused?
very sharp scissors i assume
@@LisaWaltonArtist and patience!
Yes, I cut everything after the fusible has already been applied to the back of the fabric using sharp scissors and just taking my time.
