the terminal building is still in the planning phase, Please consider having 2 levels, at the RSIA terminal building, the 1st level are for new arrivals to disembarked and go through immigration and to pick up their luggage and make their way to their waiting vehicle and taxis. The 2nd floor with it own upper level road way for vehicles and taxis dropping off passengers for checking and departure only. To minimize The obstruction of a vehicle flowing through the airport. A smaller model like the Terminal buildings at JFK international in New York. With a small footprint for the RSIA terminal building and a lot of space over head, utilizing the empty overhead space in the terminal building by making an upper floor and upper road way level.
If the major wind direction is from east/northeast in the eastern side of the island, it can become slightly tricky for pilots to land on that new runway positioned in north-south direction.
The only downside I foresee is a full length parallel taxiway and will it have 2 runways because from what I see it only seems to be departing and arriving from one direction
My question is what will b the length of the runway, how wide the strip to accomodate what size international aircraft, n how much land designated for terminals and runway strip?
Stop being navative as long an airport is in operation and you have Airlines with good connections things will get through and Dominica is coming the spot for tourist

This idea has been ever since Dame Eugene Charles, Dominicans are tried of waiting and having huge flight fees and transfers from Antigua and Barbados and other Caribbean islands, I for one welcome an International airport but will hold my breath until the first landing at DOMINICA 🇩🇲 INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
dominica need to advance if we ever going to get anywhere as a nation. the lack of development and reliance on our neighbours is killing our economy so this is a step in the right direction. we can still be the nature isle but we need to modernise. we stagnant for too long
