+Anton Petrov (WhatDaMath) Can you do a video on how to install it? I've downloaded it but it doesn't have as much planets as it has on your videos :(.
the future. mom when can we go back to Earth? son it got destroyed by a red giant. but I hate kepler-186e it's like 110f out here. Jimmy nathon Anderson you live here and like it now play outside. ok mom. that is our future.
Please post a link for people to be able to download the complete version of Universe Sandbox 2. I want the complete version of Universe Sandbox 2 software.
Same with me, I have windows 10 and SpaceEngine works really bad. My pc can barley even load in surface of planets without bugging out. I can almost tell it will work pretty darn well on my mac
Ok liquid water belt and ecosphere. I turned up the volume haha. Excellent! I was actually getting tired of Goldilocks zone and habitable zone and circumstellar habitable zone & CHZ.
Chester Harde Space Engine procedurally generates planeta and stars, and lots of those will be more earth-like than the ones shown here. The ones in this video are actual planets and stars that we know about, though even then SE has to randomize various conditions, such as atmosphere thickness/composition, albedo, etc.
I LOVE THE IDEAS OF PROXIMA B,ALPHA CENTAURI,TITAN, THE KEPLER PLANETS,AND POSSIBLY MARS(even though it also makes me a little nervous too,but I get why they chose MARS,because it's closer to EARTH,and because of lots of WATER AND MINERALS).
When I try to go into "Surface Mode" in Space Engine, the terrain always seems glitchy and has many holes in it. Is their a certain patch I need to download, or does my computer just suck?
actually 40 billion. they say there are 200 to 500 billion stars in our galaxy. Nasa says, "one in five stars in the milky way are earth like and similar size and mass to Earth." which they calculated 40 billion Earth-like planets in our MilkyWay and likely even more.
I just have 1 question, could animals like cats and dogs survive and possibly live on planets like Mars or Titan or in outer space with humans or could that not be possible for them?
Callie, if its possible for us, its possible for them :) they breath the exact same as us here. And that goes for all living creatures , not only dogs and cats.
I'M A HUGE FAN OF TITAN(I love all planets with rings around them,SATURN BEING MY #1 FAVE,LOL.) AND WHAT I HEAR ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES OF PROXIMA B AND THE PHOTOS WERE AWESOME AND I ALSO ADORE "WOLF 1061 C), I LOVE THE NAME AND THE CREATURE "WOLF".
Our planet is such a SWEET planet, that astronomers are just not finding planets like ours. we got a molten iron/nickel core, because 3.5 billion years ago two planets became one, and the molten metal went to the center and the lighter crap became the moon (very little metals). Mars is very "undense" as well. without a magnetic pole, most of the planet's atmosphere would blow AWY. SO FINDING goldy locks zone leaves out a "double planet" like ours and the moon, IN the goldy locks zone. Not likely out there, close enough to communicate with, as far as I'm concerned
I think we need to be more open-minded when searching for life on exoplanets. We can't assume that because water is essential for life on earth, that it is the same everywhere in the universe. In fact, to some life forms throughout the universe, water might even be toxic. Now if we are only looking for a suitable future home for earthlings, then that is a different story of course, but I don't think that is what drives our curiosity.
I've actually studied 186-f, and I've come to the conclusion that if this planet does not have life, then I'm a giraffe. It has to have life. It's 1 degree colder than Earth, only 25% bigger, and only slightly less density.
It's not 100% certain. For example, the cloud top temperature on Venus is only a few degrees warmer than Earth's (we can't see the surface through the clouds, so there would be no way to determine the surface temperature from far away). Venus is only about 20% smaller than Earth (by mass) and has slightly less density. But Venus has too much atmosphere, making the surface far too hot to support life as we know it. 186-f could be the same way. We won't know until its atmospheric composition can be measured.
Top 3 Scary Things to Do in SpaceEngine 1. Try landing on a Gas Giant, once you've entered the atmosphere, it'll usually flip your camera around and it's hard to escape, leading to a panic attack. 2. Go into a Black Hole, I've tried it, but even I never was able to, it's too scary... 3. Fly WAY out of the Milky Way and put the galaxy light emission really low, you'll have an extreme panic attack as you desperately try to go back to Earth while being in complete darkness. If you have a system powerful enough, I suggest you download the game (it's free) and try these things. This engine is the scariest game I've played, because it doesn't try to be horror, you just attack yourself psychologically.
I feel the same. Only a little part of the universe is scary to me. I believe I find it sometimes terrifying because it's much too unknown, and you can get trapped. I'll elaborate on my "Top 3 Scary Things to Do in SpaceEngine" reply (look above). 1: Gas Giants. They have no definite surface, it's just a sphere of gas that has an insane amount of gravity and pressure. Even with the ability to fly anywhere, you can easily get lost in Gas. That camera flip usually happens, and it does NOT help the situation. 2: The problem with Blacks Holes are very similar with the Gas Giants that was mentioned. Except, it has an entirely new elements: Darkness, Loneliness and the Unknown. So much information about Black Holes are just theories, but even the Event Horizon cannot be put to an explanation. 3: You should try this one. This one actually fucking gave me a slight panic attack. As soon as I wasn't fast enough to type in "Earth" to travel back, I immediately pressed "Alt+F4". The sense of overwhelming loneliness is expressed here, which is saying something since I'm not even remotely afraid of loneliness. After lowering the galaxy light emissions, all you'll see is complete darkness, in which you'll need an EXACT direction of the Milky Way to ever see light again. You are so far from all known life, no one will ever have a chance to save you. I noted that Earth or the Sun seems to be the only place I travel to if I'm lost, since it's the only place that is not empty and unknown. If only I could really emphasize the word "unknown" more clearly, I hate it. These are only some the reasons, most of the others are why I love Space. And surprisingly, the fact that Space IS so unknown is ALSO why I love it.
Snipabee I feel amazed by space. You have to realise the truth about it before you can truly realise the beauty of it. We are insignificant in the universe, and as Carl Sagan once said, "The universe does not need to conform to human ambition."
Wait you said the goldilocks zone was between the orbit of Mars and Venus, but im pretty sure it goes a little outside of Mars. Thats atleast how it is in US2
Very nice description and tour of possible earth-like exoplanets. Your videos are very professional and informative. I would be curious to get your opinion of my latest Space Engine video "Double-Star Earth", from my channel Hap N Stance. Thanks.
i really enjoy your videos you are the space engine proffesional and ksp univers sandbox yesterday i just see the video of 20000 and i play the game norman sky tnx tnx tnx and please why univers sandbox won't start in my pc
WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT "TATTOOINE?" I AM EXCITED TO FIND OUT WHAT I CAN ABOUT IT. CAN HUMANS AND ANIMALS LIVE ON IT?HOW FAR FROM EARTH IS IT? HOW COLD OR HOT IS IT? WHAT IS IT LIKE? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
It's highly unlikely that we would ever encounter intelligent life on planets like these..Probably just bacteria and cryptids that are early in the evolutionary stages.
respect our planet because there is nothing else like . However hard you try u cant find a better place than Earth , so respect it and take care of it as long as u can , bacause this sort of mentality that ooohhh look there might be another planet like earth that is thousands of light years away , it does not mean that you start abusing earth because right now we cant even get to mars forget about the planets light years away just respect the planet earth its our home and has given us life.
Ok.. today i found planet RS 8409-1830-6-10482-699 B7 with moon that is ICE GIANT + it is in system with three stars Edit I renamed it to Twin Giants 1. and Twin Giants 2. I exported it, don´t know if someone can find it
I wish I had 20 dollars, for every time I've heard someone explain what the goldilocks zone is, on astronomy documentaries. I'd get myself a new truck ;)
The planets in Space Engine are terrific! I wish planets in KSP were as beautiful.
+MrSh1pman With Scatterer and Enviromental Visual Enhancements or Better Atmospheres it actually looks pretty good ;)
terrific like bad or terrific like good?
+Marcus Ruben good
Jim Jaxk336 We don't have 100% proof that life exists on ANY planet besides Earth.
Jim Jaxk336 No.
8:42 It is inbetween a rocky planet like earth and a neptunian gas giant. You are getting alot of things wrong, it's basically a big rocky planet..
What about Kepler 186f?
I've been debating buying space engine. Is it worth it?
yes because it's free
lol
+Anton Petrov (WhatDaMath) wow I couldn't imagine it being free. In that case, I'll download it. Thank you!

I really love space engine, I'm getting really pumped for the mac version
Same with me, I have windows 10 and SpaceEngine works really bad. My pc can barley even load in surface of planets without bugging out. I can almost tell it will work pretty darn well on my mac
What were those other synonyms for the Goldilocks zone that Anton said? Thanks.
Ok liquid water belt and ecosphere. I turned up the volume haha. Excellent! I was actually getting tired of Goldilocks zone and habitable zone and circumstellar habitable zone & CHZ.
10: 23 do you not see that this is an ice giant?
lol
I found planets way more earth-like with the star browser in Space Engine. Maybe you didn't used it. But they are very very rare.
Chester Harde Space Engine procedurally generates planeta and stars, and lots of those will be more earth-like than the ones shown here. The ones in this video are actual planets and stars that we know about, though even then SE has to randomize various conditions, such as atmosphere thickness/composition, albedo, etc.
Hey Anton will you ever make a video about Hyper Velocity Stars?
isn't 186-f the fifth because 186-a doesn't exist? idk.
yeah, a planets don't exist, it's always b onwards.
+EggRollian Yes
a is the Star.
boop boobington Yeah, i know
i can watch your videos all day keep up the good work

Theres atleast (according to NASA) 1 Billion Earthlike planets in The Milky Way alone.
actually 40 billion. they say there are 200 to 500 billion stars in our galaxy. Nasa says, "one in five stars in the milky way are earth like and similar size and mass to Earth." which they calculated 40 billion Earth-like planets in our MilkyWay and likely even more.

we're not sure of Kepler - 52 f 's geological activity so you cannot say that it is a bit off.
I just have 1 question, could animals like cats and dogs survive and possibly live on planets like Mars or Titan or in outer space with humans or could that not be possible for them?

woh a lot of comments!
Ive known of the Gliese 667 system for a long time because of it having 3 stars and a high chance for life.

I hope I live to see a mission to Europa. Wishful thinking I suppose, but imagine what could be in that ocean.
We don't even know what's in our ocean lol.

Saw title, instant like.
I don't think they updated Wolf 1061 as it only has 3 planets, no gas giants, afawk.

Yep. @CuffRox we wouldn't get that hot if earth and venus switched places. Too much volcanism killed venus.
+CuffRox There are a lot of values that you need to guess if it has life or not. There is more than just size and temperature.
3:03 No, it's dark because you went underwater...
Correct!
ok so I hate space because how large it is and for some reason I'm so scared to even watch a video of a game where he lands on the first planet ;_;

yes, mars stay at the green zone
to me Kepler 442b seems like a Scorched earth?
Make a video of a Space shuttle entering a Black hole
The mass of Kepler 62f is 2.8 not 17 earth masses. Space engine is way off on its mass.

Also, there's Kepler 296E & F.
+stagemn He looked at 442b
Now if there are other beings on those planets and they don't want us to live with them what will we do
It's highly unlikely that we would ever encounter intelligent life on planets like these..Probably just bacteria and cryptids that are early in the evolutionary stages.
Hmm Lol, nice question actually
talk about the transportation

if the last planet is lockrd it wouldnt really matter.you have 2 starts on the ither side
29 days =1yearOMG!
triple sun is extremely hot man
you mean in between jupiter and venus mars is infact in the goldilocks zone
Actually, Venus is too. Mars's atmosphere is too thin and Venus's is too thick.
Dude, venus is on the outer layers of the goldilocks zone were it meets with the too hot zone so no its not...
So is Earth's orbit
Kepler 189 f
Ok.. today i found planet RS 8409-1830-6-10482-699 B7 with moon that is ICE GIANT + it is in system with three stars

"Earth-like" / completely not Earth-like hell planets.
Like he says many times in the video in real life they are earth like.
Wait did I just see 5 stars not 3 stars or I'm just seeing things
You are just seeing things.
So the best 3 candidates are too close to their parent star and cant host life...
no they are in the habitable zone of their own system, and their stars emits less heat... class M stars
i just want to hug earth now
