I'm doing the same thing! I am currently a CNA and the other day everyone was joking about how they wished they got paid like a welder so i started searching it and I think its interesting.
I would say, follow the money. Whatever pays you the best, do that.
If you want lots of money don't be a welder. Just look on indeed how much people are offering. Its only the very few that make decent money.
If you follow the money first, you can afford to follow your heart later. It's harder to do things the other way round.
I have a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and have been a phlebotomist for freakin 17 years. Yeah I’m not confused lol. I’ve been thinking about totally switching it up and going into welding.
Going to school for welding. I’m so surprised we haven’t found a way to make machines weld for us yet. I’m happy for it tho lol

Yes!! 👌 Great informational vid! I'm waiting to apply for an apprenticeship. In all apply for both welding and pipefitter. I really can't narrow down what exactly. But I bought some harbor freight welders and started practicing welds.

What would’ve been cool instead of a bunch of brags is you telling us how hard it is to get a job in this industry as a woman, any struggles you may have faced, how you learned, etc.
What are the toilets like as a women at work., also a toxic wasteland like the men's room??
:D It's a small shop...one toilet for everyone! It's usually covered with grinding dust so that's gross.

The school where I teach is building a new welding lab. I would like to make sure the space is inviting and welcoming to the female high school students. Do you have any recommendations for ways I can make the welding lab and program more inviting?
I would say tons of ventilation and windows are nice. 😁 It's all in the mindset. If someone doesn't want to weld, no amount of temptation will convince them. The allure of projects that appeal to girls perhaps? Maybe poll the students for ideas on what they wish they had and use that to tempt them.
@@makingithappen1087 ventilation we got. Windows - center room - so no outside windows but maybe some skylights will be an option.
I like the ideas about polling for projects.
Bet your career disproves the b.s about men making more than women for the same job !!!! My worked 47 yrs and always made the same as the man standing next to her !!!!!

I mean make up and baking are within the realm of my special interests but the social aspects of work are steering me more to my childhood interest in building and car work since the social prowess might not be as vital to my LIVING as other more interpersonal jobs…

I have two Bachelor Business Management and Bachelor in Nursing. I've been in the Healthcare systems for 5 years and now currently working in the Public School. One of my dreams is to become a welder though it's bad on my health. But it doesn't matter as long I love what I wil be doing
Why would it be bad on your health?
Why are you looking to leave healthcare?
