I don't care what stupid and cowardly people think of you. In my hardest times, I only had your songs with me. Thank you so much. I love your songs. I love your style. I love you. I will support you forever no matter what.
Anyone else catch this? When Manson sings "If tonight lasts forever" the music is that kind of dreamy 80's music. The kind that you'd hear during a movie like Sixteen Candles or The Breakfast Club. It's the kind of song that plays while you're lying next to your crush on a grassy hill, watching the sunset as you both try to get closer to one another without being obvious. But then when he starts singing "It won't matter-" the 80's music turns into something completely different. It turns into an unsettling, empty, single sound. It's symbolic. You think back on the times of you and her/him together, before she/he was taken from you. That right there sums it up perfectly. No matter what memory you think of, you'll always know that they're gone, and that there's nothing you will ever be able to do about it. And then it cuts right back to the dreamy 80's music, beginning the cycle we all know so well. We can't stop thinking about the memories we had with them, but everytime we do, we're just reminded of their absence.
Very astute observation of this song and the meaning of loss or the cycle of grief as I would call it Also lost someone, a few actually but there's always one loss that bruises back up to its original size and dimensions; as if the blow was first struck. It is a dark kind of nostalgia and it is what I felt when first listening to this, but I had not put my finger on exactly why it made me feel the way it did. Hugs my friend, the distanced kind, the only ones we are allowed it seems, hahaha...if I didn't laugh I would cry at the spectacle of a world indefinitely without normal human relations. It seems like a mad man's dream. Even so I hope, though it comes from an equally insane place, that we can let our pain loose for awhile in a mosh pit or dance floor of our choosing even if it kills us, at least we will have lived one last time! : )
Guys, in this world everything is divided into two, no matter where you look, good and evil, love and hate, heat and cold, no matter where you look. Manson is definitely not good, but the destruction of the soul, or rather a hook that hooks you into evil and hatred of everything good and kind😢

To me, it sounds like he's talking about grieving his loss of his parents. “houses aren't haunted people are haunted" type feel. Don't get stuck on their memories or you will be closer to death for wasting time. This is the beauty of music. People can relate differently and find different messages within the art!
His parents supported him through a lot. His dad didn’t really appreciate the music until later on in his life and then he started going to shows. I miss seeing fan photos of Manson with his dad at shows because you could see the love between him and his father at the shows. RIP Hugh and Barbs.
this is one of the most beautiful and aesthetic music videos / short films I saw in quite a while. an amazing piece of art and perfectly matching the music as well.
Sounds very Bowie inspired like a lot of his work but with his own twist. No one reivents themselves as successfully and as many times as Manson. Especially the way he manages to keep an old audience and gain a new audience at the same time. That's what makes his work as a whole timeless.
Comes down to who he works with really. Remember that Shooter Jennings was this one. Other older albums John 5 wrote most of the records (Golden Age of Grotesque for example). Tyler Bates for last two records.
@Scott Manerez I cannot speak to MM helping me through a mental crisis. But when I was 13-14 I had started to form my own opinion about politics, religion, science and society but I did not know how to express them. Antichrist Superstar was the "ah hah" moment. I had his previous albums but they were not as socially applicable. I am almost 40 and I credit that album for helping me to get a grip on the ideas I already had. IMO it is one of his most powerful albums and the lyrics never stopped being applicable to society.
@Scott Manerez Listen to In the shadow of the valley of death, coma white, disasociative, speed of pain. These lyrics made me feel like I meant something and that I deserved to be alive. The music made me feel less alone in the world.
"Don't chase the dead or they'll end up chasing you" That lyric alone probably gives Daryl some flashbacks :D Great song and the entire album by the way.

Even if he is a bad person at least he makes good music, and he's very intelligent. "Is adult entertainment harming children or is harming children adult entertainment?" -Marilyn Manson
Agree. It is necessary to separate personality from creativity. If he is guilty of something, he must be punished. And if not, then that's great. However, his music is still great and will be listened to by those who really like it.
I agree with you both. I personally think he is questionable at best and I do not like Evan at all, yet I still believe her. As a partner of someone who was assaulted, that shit is heartbreaking and complicated to bring to the surface. Victims do and say weird stuff. Sometimes they mess up with the details. She can be an ahole too but also a victim. Having read his book multiple times, it's not a secret that his attitude towards others was abusive. Unfortunately, Manson was abused as a kid and he did not break the cycle. I will forever be grateful for his music for giving me courage to be myself when no one else believed in me.
This music video was most definitely worth the wait, it was so beautifully made. Manson, Norman, and Lindsey is really a force to be reckoned. Lindsey is so beautiful. I've loved Manson since I was 15-16yo but I'm so so happy he has Lindsey, he looks happy and healthy and more alive as he was in his early days. I'm so happy for them both 🖤

Magnífico como siempre, para mi Mr. Marilyn Mansión es un artista destacable con un amplio repertorio. He seguido su música desde hace muchos años y es sorprendente seguir escuchando su original sonido aún, con la atmósfera creativa que siempre muestra. Larga vida a Brian Warner.

Well said
So well said. You captured exactly what I was thinking.
Art?
I think your right, good sir
this is one of the most beautiful and aesthetic music videos / short films I saw in quite a while. an amazing piece of art and perfectly matching the music as well.
My dad died 3 days before this was released. He died of grief....losing his soul mate and wife of 23 years only 9 days before. Don't chase the dead!

Yes, of course ❤
and also life savers. His music saved me
Manson hands down has the best music videos out of any artist
Driving in a car for 3 minutes?
CardHandlers well the style was fucking sick, it was like a Tarantino movie
I tie him with what Tool did.
Nothing special about this at all
GHOST and Cradle of Filth have great Music Videos. GHOST have a very cinematic unique style while Filth have very theatrical and in your face videos.
You see boys and girls, that right there...is a real artist.
And those that don’t identify in the male /female spectrum. Agreed!
@snowsprincess It's just sooo bland and meh. Entirely forgettable.
Sounds very Bowie inspired like a lot of his work but with his own twist. No one reivents themselves as successfully and as many times as Manson. Especially the way he manages to keep an old audience and gain a new audience at the same time. That's what makes his work as a whole timeless.
was coming to post that, very bowie-ish. diggin it.
Comes down to who he works with really.
Remember that Shooter Jennings was this one.
Other older albums John 5 wrote most of the records (Golden Age of Grotesque for example).
Tyler Bates for last two records.
He's like Enya’s masculine counterbalance, if they did a serious duet, that would be infinite
Good comment
You are right , this is so much inspired after David Bowie , witch is dead .
The next single should be "Paint you with my love". Incredible piece of art.
Absolutely!
You helped me through so many mental health crises. I won't turn my back on you so easily.
@Lillian dahmer bruh. Ur kidding right?
@Scott Manerez I cannot speak to MM helping me through a mental crisis. But when I was 13-14 I had started to form my own opinion about politics, religion, science and society but I did not know how to express them. Antichrist Superstar was the "ah hah" moment. I had his previous albums but they were not as socially applicable. I am almost 40 and I credit that album for helping me to get a grip on the ideas I already had. IMO it is one of his most powerful albums and the lyrics never stopped being applicable to society.
I stand with you on that✊
Manson has always been there for me. He saved my life. I don't give a shit everybody hating we don't even know the whole story. I STAND WITH MANSON✊
@Scott Manerez Listen to In the shadow of the valley of death, coma white, disasociative, speed of pain. These lyrics made me feel like I meant something and that I deserved to be alive. The music made me feel less alone in the world.
Just when I thought Norman Reedus couldn't possibly look any hotter, he goes and goths up with Manson... I think I might faint.
🧐 No. I believe the song is better.
lol yeah pretty darn cool
