I have a rolling box a lot like yours. I got it as a gift many years ago (It had a cover which has long since come off.). At the time, "my thought was, when will I ever use this?" A few years later, I got married and realized that it was a perfect box for dice rolling. It is big enough for the dice to roll well and the felt bottom makes the dice fairly quiet so as to not bug my wife. On another note, I always roll the d20 with the 2 d6s. That way I don't have to do an additional roll when a split result happens. Thanks for the well done video.
Excellent, excellent video. Twenty-six minutes in and you've taught me so much. I just received the 1962 season and am learning the super-advanced for the first time. Please keep the games coming. I love this. By the way, Dean Chance was one of the worst hitting pitchers of all time!
I’ve watched this one numerous times and understand SADV so much better now. (Or at least it is not as intimidating as it seemed at first. ) But I think I would need a check list to remember everything to check on a play!
when attempting to steal you roll the d20 in order to see if there is a pick off on a 1 roll or a balk on a 2 roll. if you roll a 1 refer to the base runner's secondary steal success rating and roll the d20 again. runner is picked off if the roll is not within the base runner's secondary steal success rating. if your initial d20 roll is not a 1 or 2 then roll the 2 d6
Remember to add your pitcher hold and catcher arm rating first. The maximum range is -5 to +5. Also, it's-2 when using the first jump rating and -4 when using the second if held on base.
That's right. At 7:22, when Horace Clarke does not get the jump, I understand the rules to say that you should actually deduct -4 from his second steal success rating. So in that case, it would be 12 (second steal success rating) - 4 (failed to get jump and he is being held) + 2 (pitcher hold + catcher arm) for Clarke. See rule 23.3.B. Great video! Very thorough. I learned a lot.
When Gibbs flew out in the 2nd, you rolled a 9 with a 1-8 HR chance. This should invoke the outfielder robbing a home run rule which you did not do. Chance that Gibbs could have gotten a HR depending on fielding rating of outfielder and dice roll
You make a mistake in the top of the 4th. Stottelmyre batting you rolled a 4-4 but looked at 5-5 on Dean Chance card. Still an out but you read the card wrong.
I realize it's your choice not to dl mantle on the injury, but super advanced requires anal detail.......even though it's just one game. The baseball Gods are watching.......

A 1 roll of the d20 means there is a possible wild pitch. A 2 roll of the d20 means there is a possible balk or passed ball
LOVE SUPER ADVANCED
gotta apply the injury to Mantle bro..lol. You should never ignore that even if its a one game play.
why? then he has to go through the hassle of finding another player in the lineup, what if he didnt have extra players ready?
Great job. Do one on the computer soon.
He said he was using some but not all super advanced rules, as is his choice
4:20 until the first pitch.
Treat of Versailles
The Treaty of Versalles had less tenets (i.e., factors) than Super Advanced Strat-O-Matic Baseball.
Yeah years ago learned it in about 4 days

Wow
Funny watching us old white guys trying to pronounce Spainish! I’m bad at it too ,lol
Where do you get that score book

Not a good card for the mick

At ten minutes, I stopped watching. You're playing super advanced, and then ignore an injury to Mickey Mantle. Umm...NOPE.
I think because it's a one off game.
