This footage was kindly sent to me by a cousin from Palermo, since I have lived in London for many years now - he keeps me updated on local events. He hasn't got a YT account so I have published it for him.
Song of freedom and a call for resistance from oppression that should be sung with pride and jubilation. Long live Italy and I hope that any country in the world should adopt this song whenever a threat to democracy and freedom is immenent. It's a very passionate song worthy of those that fought and laid their lives in the altar of freedom and liberty. I can't help but move to tears when I heard the song sung with passion.

This is me whenever I hear a song like this from any country.
I m not an Italian but this song was not just another song it is the voice of the people around the world for a call of resistance against oppressor, I did a lil bit research about the song and found out it was a folk song used by The Partisans fighting against Mousollini, anti facist song and all those things but I was amazed when I understood that Bella Ciao (goodbye beautiful) is the metaphor for 'Sacrifice' , Sacrifice of eveything even those who r dear to me for fighting against invadors, Facism and the fight for Freedom and Liberty that's really fascinating. I had an uncle went to Italy in ww2, he was 19. That was sad. He gave morphine to a 12 year old German soldier who was dying. He gave my uncle a picture of Saint Francis of Assisi and said "braziliano camarad". The soldier died with no pain.
It's so sad... the things he told me...he heard a voice in his head telling him to get out of trench. He ran and a grenade was thrown at that place.
He was in Monte Castello. War is just a silly thing. He would be someone that people liked a lot. He had a company of eletronics that started in his garage, but became much bigger.
And he was someone who loved to talk. He married a most beautiful blond woman. She managed to have two kids, but when we have Rh- we have problems. I am Rh- too.
