YES I was waiting for your channel! :)
Awww Thank You!!!! Finally had some time to do, but I have been wanting to put one up for years :)) xoxox, MM
Love this video, Myka! I would love a video for etiquette on video meetings/conferences. That would be incredibly valuable, especially during these quarantine times.
Great idea!! and I'm working on it!!
Just Monday I was wondering why you didn’t have a UA-cam channel❣️Now it’s Wednesday and you do..
🤗🥰Brilliant, thank you.
Yay! Thank you! haha I know i'm late to this party lol but I'm here!! :)))
Thank you for this 🙏🏾.
Gud day Dear Myka..it's never been so simple and easy.. thank you..
Kindly do teach how to pull a dining chair and at what distance you should be seated from the dining table..to maintain your posture at ease while eating ..Kindly..show in detail how to pull chair by yourself and how to seat on it like a Lady..
Myka thank you for your Channel is very helpful !
You're so welcome!
Great video... Thanks. When I first watched a youtuber post her very fun and interesting session with you I wanted to watch more videos from you and it’s lovely to see you at last. I’m learning the basics first and I’m definitely coming over to take my fun class with you too 😃👍🏾👌.
Hi Mika, as other commenters have said i would like to know how to eat pastas and small things, like rice or peas correctly. Thanks in advance!
Great suggestion!
Thank you. So many more questions about which foods to use with which utensils. And what about the ‘switching fork to the right hand’ to eat which I see quite often? So many questions. More videos, please!
You are THE best, thankyou.. it helped me alot 🥺❤️
Great video! Would it be possible to expand a bit more in another video? Continental vs. American style, with food on plate to see you actually in action etc. Thank you!
YES! i have so much to share on this!
Myka you look so polished. Do you mind sharing where you got your blouse please.
Great video and I love how simply broken down it is. It confuses me because I’m not sure which foods it applies to. Like this looks like it’s for most meats and I don’t really eat meat.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! More dining videos to come, but this applies to all dining (with a few exceptions of course). Thank you for watching! 🥰
Does it depend on what you are eating? I understand this to be for eating/cutting. How about meals where the knife is not used? How do you hold the fork then? Thanks Myka.
Yes! Depends on the food. My rule is only pick up the tool you need to eat the food you are enjoying. So for instance if you have a plate that consists of a rice dish, you would not pick up the knife to begin with. Therefore, you would only hold your fork prongs UP in your dominant hand and leave knife on the table. Does that make it a bit more clear? xx, MM
Myka Meier Makes sense. Thanks again.
@@mykameier7474 So would you switch your fork to your right hand (if that's your dominant hand) to eat rice or risotto?
well those are great tips
xoxoox
Hi Myka, I wonder is it still the same way when having risotto?
okay good question
Thank for sharing another informative video. I made the mistake of practicing dinning etiquette when I am dining out instead of practicing at home.
Great job! YES!!
Brilliant thank you
Myka as your Insta follower I LOVE your UA-cam channel !!! Thanks for making all this stuff funny and useful. I am wondering if you could show how to "rest" our cuttlery and retake it so graciously (without the 3 steps...jaja). Thank you! Be safe
Yes of course! Okay, will do another dining and include this soon!
thank you
Nice.
Forks are curved specifically for scooping so what is the point in using it upside down? From rice and beans to flaky white fish veru few things are effectively eaten by the stab method. Do you eat your peas one at a time?
Could you show the use of a spoon too?
Absolutely! I will do a future video on the spoon and how to hold and use it! Thank you for watching 💕💕

I can not get used to holding the fork knife all fancy and also why are my hands inverted the other way? (Me its fork in right and knife left) others look at me all "no no, other way" and I say I'm more comfortable this way..
Can we hold spoon in right hand when we hold fork in left hand? Is this kind of silverware combination correct?
With continental dining etiquette, spoon are only used for soup and dessert, so in cases where you have a dessert such as ice cream and a brownie where you might need both, holding the fork in the left and the spoon in the right is absolutely correct. Thank you for watching!! ❤️
@@mykameier7474 Thank you.. ! Much Love and Respect ❤️
First comment ever!
I hope I'm not too late trying to get this question to you, Myka.... I'm from Finland and also lived in London for eight years (and since have lived in the US for three decades!)... So, in Finland as all over Europe - and of course the UK - everyone gets taught to hold their silverware and eat the way you are showing, regardless of their background. Since you are so educated about this matter - and an American - I would love to ask you, if you have ever found out during your studies, WHEN and HOW did this changed here in the US? I mean most people who first arrived in this country, were Europeans - and they even managed to keep one of the languages (English).... but how come they dropped the correct way of holding their silverware? That is so curious to me? I have never been able to switch to the "American way"... so I can understand that switching to the European way may be difficult for the folks here. Thank you so much for your answer - should you see my question!
Love this! Thank you for watching and commenting, I would love to share everything I know about this. Future video! :)
@@mykameier7474 Our family eats this way. As most families take after their mother, my mother eats (she's in her 90s) this way and taught us this way. She's never left California. I wonder if there is a time associated with this switch?
The French taught us.
💞💞
It amazes me how many young people I see holding their silverware like cavemen. Pretty much everyone under 35, and I can't imagine it will improve as they get older.
It's because parents don't teach them elegance.
Yeah but the real challenge is eating spaghetti in the correct way, that’s what we really need to know because I need my fork and knife to eat things like spaghetti, or risotto like in another comment here. In the case of rice, how do you not use a knife to keep it on your fork?! Gaaaah!!!!
I will do one for you!!
@@mykameier7474 yes please do. Thank you so much
@@mykameier7474 please do the video that she suggest... it xwill help a lot of us. Thanks in advance
lol I'm starting to think that we should offer intensive courses here in Italy, on how to handle your spaghetti and risotto properly 😄🍝 (spoiler alert: knives and spoons are a big no-no...can't wait to see Myka's take on the subject ❤)
I think we have the same plates.
how do you eat green peas
Isn’t this the European or Continental way of holding your silverware as opposed to the American way?
Yes, rather than the “formal” way as is claimed here
Would super hot with a small diamond nose ring
Continental?
This is so pervasive...I am by no means elite, do not come from money, and never went to refinement school. However, I go out to dinner very often and it is alarming how many people hold their silverware like Neanderthals!!! Recently, in a very popular streaming series, I saw a very well-known, young movie star do the same thing. I was truly taken back...😟
Too much talking before, dislike
Thank you
