- Rambutan is a fruit that is found in tropical parts of Asia and is recognizable by its bright red color and exterior that looks like messy hair (in fact, rambutan comes from the Malay word for hair).
➡️ This refreshing fruit is similar to lychee and can be eaten alone or as a key ingredient in many Sri Lankan dishes!
Today, I’ll share some of my favorite rambutan recipes with you.
As usual, I start by harvesting many of my own ingredients right from nature; join me as I walk through the countryside collecting fresh rambutan.
➡️ This fruit is surprisingly versatile and I’ll make a spicy rambutan pickle, payasam (a sweet pudding, rambutan curry, and a refreshing rambutan and Ceylon olive drink!

සිතින් තව මා පුංචි සංදියේය.සුදු අක්කලා චමිල අයියලා සමගින් තා රා ටී..කියූ.. ගල් හත කැඩූ.. අතීත මතක මට අද ඊයේ මෙන්ය.නමුත් ඔවුන් නොඑක් කඩඉම් ලුහුබදිමින් ජීවන ගංගාවේ බොහෝ දුර ගොසින් ඇත.ලෝකයම ලොකු ගමනකය.සියුම් සිතැත්තී තවමත් ඒ වපසරියෙන් පලා ගොසින් නැත.
වෙසක් මාසය කලඑලි බහින්නේම විවිධ වූ මල් ,පළතුරු වලින් වටපිටාව පුරවා දමමිනි.පේර,කාමරංකා,රඹුටන්,උගුරැස්ස,චෙරි,වෙරලු,කජු,දං,ඇඹිල්ල,නමිනං,ජමනාරං..🐿🍃මෙන්ම වන පලතුරු වලින්නම් මේ දවස්වල ගමට කිසිම අඩුවක් නැත.මිදුලෙහි කොනට වෙන්නට රඹුටන් ගස් කීපයක්ම තිබුන ද මස් රඹුටන් ගහ දකින ඕනෑම කෙනෙක් ඒ වෙත ඇදී යන්නේ කාන්දමක් සේය.උදේ හවා බත් කන්නා සේ කෑවත් මාත් මල්ලීත් රඹුටන් වලට කෙල හලන්නේ ඇඹලයෝ දෙන්නෙක් වාගේය.හොදට මස් ගැලවෙන රඹුටන් මද වලට මිරිස් ලුනු ගම්මිරිස් කලවම් කර රසවත් අච්චාරුවක් දමා ගත්තේ එය මාගේ ප්‍රියතම කෑමක් නිසාය.අච්චාරු කියූ සැනින් කට ඇදකර ගන්නා අම්මාටනම් ඉතිං මොන අච්චාරුද?..😃
එළකිරි වලින් සකසාගත් සවු හාල් මිශ්‍රණයට එළගිතෙලෙන් බැදගත් මුද්දරස්පලම් සහ කජු මද එක්කල විට දැනෙන්නේ අපූරු රසයකි.ලිපෙන් බාගන්නට විනාඩි කීපයකට පෙර සිහින්ව කපාගෙන ආ රඹුටන් පියලි සමග ගිය වාරයේදී සකසා තැබූ ඇඹිල්ල ජෑම්🍒ස්වල්පයක් එකතු කලේ එයින් නැගෙන ලා රෝස පැහැයට
මා බෙහෙවින් ප්‍රිය කරන බැවිනි.අමු ගොරකා සුද්ද කරමින් සිටි අම්මාගේ මුහුණ පායාසම් පුරවපු බොකුටු තසිම දුටු සැනින් මගුල් ගෙදර වීය.හද්ද අවුවේ උදලුගාමින් සිටි තාත්තත් සුමිත් මාමාත් පායාසම් ගිල දැමුවේ උගුරට දෙකටය😍
පහු ගිය දින කීපයේම කලු මාමා සහ ආරි මාමා සමග තාත්තාත් කුරුන්දේ කරට කර වැඩය.සති දෙක තුනකට උඩදි කුරුදු තලා ඉවර කරගත් නිසා දැන් ඇත්තේ කුරුන්ද සුද්දකර ගස් බදින්නටය.උදේ වරුවේ වැඩ අහවරකර තාත්තා දවල් කෑමට එන්නේද ටිකක් ප්‍රමාදවෙලාය.තෙම්පරාදු කහ බත සකසා පොල් සම්බෝලයක් කොටා තැබුවේ අමු තක්කාලි ගෙඩියකුත් දමාය.මිදුල මැද ඇති වල් රඹුටන් ගහේ ගෙඩි ටිකක් ඇඹුල නිසා කුරුල්ලන් කන්නේද අඩුවෙනි.පොකුරු පිටින් බිමට නැවිගෙනම ඉන්නවා දකින විට දුකේ බැරිය.කලු කුඩු,පහේ වර්ග පදමට දමා පිසගත් විට හරියට ඇඹරැල්ල මාලුවක්🥘මෙන් රසය.මලිලිටනම් ඉතිං බැදුමක් නොතිබුනොත් බත් බෑය.මීට සති දෙකකට කලින් බාසකට් එකක් පිරෙන්න අල බයිට් හැදුවේත් කිරට කාලා එපාවෙලා කියාගනය.ඒකේ අන්තිමම ටික අම්මා මේසෙට තියා තිබුනි.😃
තෙම්පරාදු කහ බත වටා එක් රොක්වුනේ රඹුටන් බොරය සමග මාලු පිලි කීපයක් වුනත් එහි ඇති රස ගැලපිල්ල ගැන විස්තර කරන්න නම් රසාස්වාද සීයක් ලිවුවත් මට මදිය😍
රස්නෙ කාලෙට බොහෝ දෙනා දොලට යන්නේ සීතල වතුර ටිකක් නාගන්නට හැකි නිසාය.දෝණිලා එක්ක මමත් දොලට ගිහින් ආවේ ඊයෙ හවසය.මග දිගට අලුතින් පීදුනු වෙරලු ගස් මහ ගොඩය.දත් හිරි වැටෙනතුරුම තරගෙට කෑවාය.වෙරලු ඇට සූප්පු කර උඩු තල්ල බලිකූටු ඇන්දා සේ සීරී ඇත.කාරි නැත.පසුවදා මේ සැරසෙන්නේද වෙරලු ඇහිදින් එන්නටය🌿
කහ පාට රඹුටන් ගහ ඇත්තේ වත්ත පහල කෙලවරට වෙන්නට මායිමේය.හොදින් මස් ගැලවෙන ඒවාත් මී පැණි වාගේය.
පැණි රඹුටන් ඉස්ම සමග මුසු වුනු වෙරලු බීම එකට තිබුනේත් ඇඹුලත් නැති,පැණිත් නැති අමුතුම රසයකි.ලා කොල පැහැති බීම වීදුරුවේ අතරින් පතර කැලතෙන කස කසා ඇට දිස්වෙන්නේ දෙකට පලපු කිවි මද 🥝ගොඩක් සේය.දහවල් හිරු රශ්මියත් මදක් සැරවැඩි නිසාදෝ බීම වීදුරුවෙන් ලැබුනේ අමුතුම පණකි.විනාඩි දහයක් ගියේ නැත.වටේම අදුරුකරගෙන කඩාපාත්වුනු වරුසාවට අමුතු පණ දෙපිටින් ගියේය.නාස්පුඩු සිරවනු දැනුනේ ගල් පතුරු දෙකක් නාසයේ සිරකල ලෙසටය.මදක් ඔලුව උස්සගන්නට හැකිවූයේ අම්මා සාදාදුන් ඉගුරු කොත්තමල්ලි කෝප්පයෙන්ය..😃

I am a Sri Lankan living in Europe. As winter approaches, I feel what a beautiful country our motherland is. If not evil politics, with our values, we can have our own identity. Corruption and abuse destroyed it. All wretched founders, we should ironically thank Mahinda Rajapaksa. However, the common people are content with what they have and live in peace and harmony. They really don't know what high natural values we are blessed with.
I am amazed at how beautiful your videos are. You bring back to me my nostalgic feeling of Mahagedara (ancestral house). My parents passed away today and words cannot describe how beautiful we were with them. This girl is a blessing to her parents. It is the youth who can make the real change that will prevent our society from deteriorating. These parents are also kind and gentle people. There is no doubt that Sri Lanka is a paradise. Not forgetting the lovely dogs and cats, peacocks and other cute birds that make it unique to our nature.
