I actually genuinely very much liked this review. We are on the fence about whether to get this Kettle or a Dualit. 5 years later real feedback has seriously helped so thank you!!
@ Hey! :) the Smeg Kettle is boss, The Dualit is a piece of light plastic junk we explored in-person and ultimately the Sage the Soft Top Luxe™ Kettle, SKE735DBL, Damson Blue won us over. It’s solid, works extremely well and as always expected. Thank you for thinking of this and asking :)
Thank you for the review. The videos I watched before were not so explanatory. In addition to being explanatory, you were also quite instructive. Thank you.
Smeg kettles aren’t made in Europe they’re made in China look on the bottom of it and it says “made in PRC” only their large appliances like ovens stove tops fridges etc are made in Italy.
Exactly - SMEG broke after just 3 years due to poor electrics - once you take it apart you see rather cheap work - like cables stripped with a bloody knife - not machine. Looks like quick assembly with cost cutting in China. Not even that - poor design of elements - contactors burn off.
@@tomk3732@tomk3732 I have Hamilton Beach kettle model 40998. I had it for 7 years, and it cost $25 dollars. It hasn't broken yet, and it is made in China. Your expensive kettle broke because you probably didn't follow the instructions. To make my kettle last years, I didn't wash under sink as water would enter from the bottom of the kettle and damage the components. Only clean with with moist sponge. Make sure the water is not below the minimum line any less and the kettle overheats and overtime destroys the components.
Very disappointed with my smeg kettle purchase . Within year one and: Spout leaks Silver on handle has been peeling off I have contacted smeg but did not receive a response
Thanks for the review , I shared the video with my Mom & Sis they liked the SMEG kettle 😊 , my sis says it's expensive but it's worth it because 1) Elegant & Aesthetic design & 2) Made in Europe so quality obviously will be good. She checked on the SMEG official website , I guess you forgot to pin the website link in the comments section 😊
Plastic is in inner lid through down some parts of inside. Nice and aesthetic but not healthy, plastic particles expose into the water. I did not know that. I’m honna return it. Looking for plastic free kettle.
I just got one and will return as well… I called smeg and they didn’t understand that plastic is bad for you 😂 I hope they come with a healthy plastic free version.
I have a bad experience using a kettle by SMEG. Due to the bad taste and smell we were unable to use the kettle. This is a shame for a company like SMEG.
POS kettle failed after just 3 years of use due to poor workmanship. The contact base is very weak and overall electrics is very weak prompting burn off - i.e. contactors burn off or break off.

What did you end up getting? Do you still like it? 😊

Hi, great review is the kettle white or cream? Thanks Cathy
Hi Cathy, thank you so much! It’s white 😄

how about the paint on the edges where the lid is? no problems with peeling?

For such a price they couldn't even avoid plastic parts internally... You get way better kettles with zero plastic at 30-50$ range.
like what

I just want to know how hot the water is. Will my cup of coffe stay hot after 10 minutes? So many crappy kettles out there.

Oh that sounds horrible 😱 It sounds like it’s totally defect. Did you buy it directly from their store or from another store?
@@KatjaNordkvist from another store
At the end of the day they are the manufacturers and should honor their service/ products
@@KatjaNordkvist from a store that sells it as we cannot buy direct
Besides it actually doesn’t make a difference as it is still their product.
Can you say what is the model and brand of this silver pitcher you are using to make tea?
It’s from Georg Jensen and the model is called Bernadotte ☺️

Thank you for your comment. I have been looking for a kettle without plastic, but it has been difficult to find one. Have you had any luck?
Good point about being hot on outside and making sure to use handle only. I was surprised how hot it was. Thank you
