I went back and looked up the Batman theme cause I had never heard it before. I can see the similarity especially in the beginning. Glad you enjoyed it!
I could totally imagine this being played by 100 brass players. With Chris's DCI connections maybe an arrangement of this will end up being played by the Cavaliers or Blue Coats or some such.
I feel like this could be a good piece for DCI to use in a show. For like a the third part or a second part of a show. It's a real amazing composition and can't wait to hear the next two compositions.
Dude so let me tell you how you helped me as a player and as a musician. Before I started watching your videos ( probably around 9th grade year ) - I was a ok player. Tone was eh, I didn’t care about how I sounded or if I was playing correctly. Second to last chair. I remember watching some video about how to increase range because I was bored. Once I heard your sound, how confident you were about what you did, I tried to replicate that, and I soon fell in love with the trombone. Over the course a year, I was able to have incredible sound ( been told I have incredible sound and tone ) and since this all happened- I have been able to make progress. As I’m now in my senior year of high school, I stride to be first chair. Thank you for your encouragement. It changed my band career.
From 3:00 on this has a great, old school drum and bugle corps sound to it. Could totally see c.1980's Blue Devils playing this. To me, it has a similar feel to "La Fiesta".
I love it when you play competition pieces and we can hear peoples work. Thanks. This one is fun to listen to plus nice for people who can play technical parts.
Hey, Christopher! I was listening to your video game symphonies for what was probably around the hundredth time, and i had the idea to arrange those pieces for a band, and play it for recital at ECU in a year or so. would i have your permission to do that?
Are you allowed to base your composition heavily on another piece? Just saying this sounds a lot like Batman 1989... I understand that chord progressions aren't original to one composer or another, but when something bears that much resemblance it doesn't seem coincidental.
Christopher Bill Yo Christopher mate? I'm hoping to pull a you one day! 😃😃😃 That's how much I admire you dude! 😃😃😃 Love your favourite Englishman, me! XD Michael Galan-Diaz from Sunderland! XD Have you ever heard of Sunderland before? :)
Thank you for playing my piece Christopher! It was an absolutely incredible performance. Congratulations to all the other winners as well.

Strong superhero movie vibes from this one!
Sounds more like a pokemon fighting or even gym leader theme, but it definitely has that epic, confrontational feel about it.
It kid of sounds like Batman the Animated Series.
Aidan Yelsma True the intro with the held out chords sounds a bit like that.
Direct influence from batman 89
WOW, that really packs a punch. Congrats to Seth E. Brown for a wonderful composition! I was at the edge of my seat.
Wow if that was only 3rd place I wonder how good the top two were! Love the video keep up the good work!
He has videos uploaded of him playing the top two! I recommend checking them out

I love it when you play competition pieces and we can hear peoples work. Thanks. This one is fun to listen to plus nice for people who can play technical parts.
I'm almost done with my entry! Going back and forth on some things, but I'm really excited!
Bro, my band teacher, John A. Matthews Ii, taught this composer. We're playing one of his pieces right now
I love your vids. I play trombone too, and im in 8th grade. You are the best trombone player I have ever seen😁😁
You should look up Joe Alessi, Christian lindburg, Ian bousfield those are some good ones too
you should also look up bill watrous, carl fontana, and bob mcchesney
Don't forget Brian Hecht, and George Curran. There are so many good ones
and wycliffe gordon
I love that build at 2:49
Low key, I think this is the best composition
Listened multiple times! Well done Seth and Chris.
I play trombone too, but you're The best of the best, I love it
I thought he should have won with this piece. But I am thrilled he prevailed this year.
I was very keen to see this piece being performed by a symphonic band. It is well in style.
I play trombone, and you rly inspire me. Also the music was great.
Awesome. Congrats to Seth.
This needs to finds its way into a dci show.
Excellent work - Performance and composition!!
Прекрасно! Человек-оркестр. Успехов в творчестве, man band! :)

MARCHING BAND IDEA!!!! 😍
Congratulations, what is the name of the video editor software?
That was amazing
Funny enough, I get the Final Fantasy feels from this piece. Nice work!
This sounds like it would make a really good cavaliers show
Very good...what's with the new tenor?
When I submit, is there a way I can send the Finale file? Or should I just send the PDFs and MP3s? Thanks!
Braeden Ames just PDFs and MP3s
Você é uma inspiração 🙏continue assim vídeos muito bons e que som mais maravilhoso

who knew in 2019 this guy gets first place
Bonita composición e interpretación.
Fantastic
The 3rd place piece is far better than the first in my opinion
It's fantastic
This is great
Great!
This screams to be written for drum corps.
8 bass bones!! Nice
Are you allowed to base your composition heavily on another piece? Just saying this sounds a lot like Batman 1989...
I understand that chord progressions aren't original to one composer or another, but when something bears that much resemblance it doesn't seem coincidental.
Technically, no. I'll look into it!
Thanks Chris! I love the way you're inspiring young composers with this competition! Keep up the good work!
Very nice
How do you keep your tempo consistent across all of your parts?
Which trombone are you playing in this video?
I feel the same. Clean shave for a clean sound 😉
I see the bananas!!
how dose he do those fast notes. i am a trombone player as well and let me tell you that is no easy feat
Very nice Video👌
AWESOME! 😃😃😃👏👏👏👏
Wow!
That's crazy
That intro though...
Feels like Batman The Animated Series!!!
Can you play Destiny 1, or Halo music ?
Awesome awesome. Boo to the jerk who did thumbs down.
Do you still have your alto? I noticed it’s not hanging in the room
^it's true! But if you're asking because you want to write an alto part for the competition, write it! I'll borrow one!
Sounds like it should be the soundtrack of the movie belonging to the poster next to the trombones.
It's the poster of his album "Half-Man Half-Machine"
Probably because sounds like batman's theme song, I think
muito maneiro cara.good d #
Now that’s what I like to see! Some 🍌 Haha. Good video as always and keep up the good work!
just saying that this piece completely rips the intro from escape velocity by martin cordner a piece for brass band
Holy
3:00 sounds like something from rayman legends
How did this get third?
You should do seven nation army
Wow
My name chris too that's crazy
DCA/dci I&e ???

Batman 1989 anyone XD
Any advice on how to play a really low note but still with a good sound?
FukYoNoScope play bass bone lol
Lol true but I like playing high and low notes
FukYoNoScope well an actual tip is just try to blow warm air, open up, and use more air than you think you’ll need

Not first ;)
I hope that he performs my piece even if I don't win 😬
Primeiro Brasileiro a comentar.
heheehhe
Yeet
This would be so much more awesome if plated by a brass choir of 100+ poeple!
Batman¿
Danny Elfman Batman??
Imagine if a DCI corps marched this
That would be a dream come true!
Madison Scouts did it in 1979 :)
Lego batman?
That's what i thought
Composition competition, say that three times fast
Say composition competition 10 times fast
The Beginning sounds like Batman
That sounded awesome!
(Also,FIRST)
lego batman flashbacks
