Happy Birthday, dear Pooch. Excellent little video that gives Apple a much-deserved ribbing after they introduced their blingity-bling Studio Display. Now all you have to do is figure out a way to shore up that table a little to make it more stable. One monitor issue you missed: both the Studio Display and the LG Ultrafine Ergo have the ability to pivot for use in "portrait mode", excellent for desktop publishing.
I work for apple, and you’re right, it’s expensive, even with my discount. I was going to get the studio display with nano texture class, the Mac Studio with MAX chip but 64GB ram, and the magic keyboard for the desk setup I’m building (which I’ll showcase as my first UA-cam video), but instead I went with just the Mac Studio, the Alienware 34 QD-OLED monitor, a keyboard from satechi (magic keyboard lookalike with with backlights) and a bang & olufson speaker, looks amazinggg and I saved over a thousand dollars haha
That LG is 2 years old and only 60hzs which is what is holding me back.. that and it is 2 years old with same price almost. Just wish I could get a 32” 4k ergo with 90-120 hz refresh.
The Logitech MX keyboard is far better than the Apple one, is backlit and can drive 3 different computers and is cheaper. I guess it a function of what you need to do. I did invest in a studio display with nano glass for professional applications including engineering, AV and photography. Given my Canon pro photo gear typically costs $3k for a 5D body and $2 to $3k for a lens, spending less than $2k for a display that will likely last a decade is not too big an investment. To be clear, it’s not the same panel as an iMac 27 inch. It’s much brighter and better QA on build, edge bleed etc. The speakers are superb, like having a pair of the excellent HomePod minis close together (I use those in my study too), the webcam does need a firmware update but the tracking is excellent for my teaching online. I use an excellent Dell P2715Q as my second screen. For 6 years it’s done great service and has excellent colour calibration too. However, when I now look at photos on the screens side by side, it’s night and day. 600 nits and 1 billion colours is a pretty impressive panel. My backup tool for trialling photo shots is a new iPhone 13 pro 512gb and that set me back 1.3k. That is also brilliant for pro res 4K content. Therefore is the Studio display out of balance as part of a pro system? I don’t think so. It will be used 8 to 10 hrs a day for years to come. How much is a very high quality 4K TV? Like your new screen, it may be ‘bigger’ but nowhere near the same pixel count or brightness close up. So in summary a 40mb RAW photo taken on a state of the art pro camera and lens deserves an equal quality editing screen to ensure the best workflow end to end. Other than the top end Apple Pro display nothing gets close.

happy birthday doggo
She says thanks haha!
Happy birthday dogo
I'll probably pick up the LG monitor to pair with MacBook Air and an Apple HomePod Mini
that is very similar to my old setup, great choices!
My only concern is the base memory and FCP. If you’re only doing small projects, maybe. Otherwise you will run out of headroom.

honestly me too!
add decent speakers and a Satechi hub with m.2 that gives you storage and time machine and you improve your setup significantly for not a lot of $$$
Great stuff
thank you!
Subscribed so your dog gets more treats. ✌️
Happy Birthday little doggy!
Do you still use this monitor? Any issues with it?
I still use it and love it! thank you for the comment!

For a little more money you can get a sleeve for Cable Management
Great idea, ill be sure to include it in my next setup!
@@Vomelo also, cute dog

ROBLOX KID
“Don’t waste your money on your desk setup” - proceeds to waste a shit ton of money on the mac studio. Huge brain.
Wrong. The dude spent his money on a much-cheaper (sub-$700) Mac Mini. Get your facts straight.
Just don't buy an apple😁
Also happy late bday
haha thanks
