Hats off to the guy answering everything in English even though he was finding it difficult to speak in English. Moneycontrol team please ask your guest which language they are comfortable in and then just run English subtitles, i think then you will be able to extract more from your guests.
The first man was feeling little difficulty in speaking English... Had the team money control allowed this man to speak in Hindi and later on made the voice-over in English, i think it would have been better.... He could have also explained the things with more details when he speaks the language that he is comfortable with..
Very impressive! The building is planned from the bottom up and fulfills the needs of an entire industry showing the ingenuity, cooperation, and hard work of the small and large diamond business owners. The diamond industry in India is owned by practical and hardworking ordinary Gujaratis, not large corporations. The humility and simplicity of the official spokesmen prove it.
He himself is so comfortable talking in mixed English...... because these businessmen are used to talking in English while dealing with foreign clients and they too are able to understand the language though not perfect.... after all business is above all., and people don't mind imperfect language.
That's pretty brilliantly designed and well built massive building that can even surpass international standards. Most diamonds are extracted from mines in Russia, eastern Europe and Africa there are less than half a dozen companies on planet who control the entire supply chain (right from extracting to to displaying in the showroom) of these precious diamonds. Surat, GJ has emerged as global hub when it comes polishing and processing of these extracted diamonds from last several decades, similar to cheap sweatshops of China, you can even compare it with other legacy industries present in India such as leather industry of Kanpur and famous wood carving industry of Saharanpur, UP. Thanks to cheap yet highly skilled local labor and vision of some local traders and artisans who transferred their invaluable skill to even more and more youths the industry continued to grow and thrived and today has virtually no competition on planet. bimaru states of north India must learn something from progressive western n southern states, stop beating wild rabbits in reproduction and get things done like this. You don't need port cities anymore for development, Bangalore is best example in this regard, today IT and finance forms the largest chunk of total export that goes out of India.
Well done sir. Appreciate your vision, tenacity and ability to influence others to join your effort. My best wishes for your grand success! And thank you, Money Control
The gentleman in the interview could have been much better, the questions were repetitive and the office spaces could have also shown better. Both gentlemen did an amazing job explaining their business but this could have been a lot more informative and interesting.
The huge and unnecessary sentences being shown at the bottom of the video is blocking off important visuals. Why do you show that and ruin a good video. After a min or so I just went to another video, it's that annoying.
Alberta THIS COULD BE TARGETED BY TERRORIST. IT WOULD BE A HEAVEN FOR THEM TO HIDE IN SUCH A BUILDING AND DO KILLINGS AND CREATE HAVOC. SECURITY AGENCIES PLZZ BE ALERT AND PROVIDE BEST SECURITY TO THIS BUILDING AND PEOPLE WORKING HERE.
This is a private building. No taxpayers money has been used, and Surat is already the diamond cutting and polishing capital of the World , with over 90% of all diamonds in the world, being cut and polished in Surat, and after this project it will be the diamond trade capital of India as well, with Mumbai. Mumbai and Surat diamond industries will co exist, and complement each other.
Gawar... Historically the Diamond industry belongs to Surat and parts of Gujarat. Mumbai had nothing to do with it other than having airports and customs so our people were compelled to open offices and conduct business there at the cost of Surat.
