Stevos breaks clearly didnt work on the air craft carrier landing! What a fun video, loved the meetup. Love that TBM too!
Me: (looking around dashboard in my car after starting car.)
Wife: "What are you doing?"
Me: "Checking IG for hot starts, NG for hung starts."
Wife: ????????
Matthew 😂 😂 😂
Hilarious dude!
I've been calling wind directions when we leave our house as well as departure vectors haha.
@@donnie1581 That is fantastic!
Whenever I drive our car into a parking lot, I annouce that I need a sterile cockpit and the family knows to kill the radio and be quiet unless they spot a potential parking lot incursion.
Raising the gear right after liftoff? The "P-51 departure" makes for a fun ride, but what happens if you have a power rollback? I know two people it's happened to.
I thought you could do better on that carrier landing. It was a great video. Happy Holidays !!
On carrier landings you are supposed to go full throttle in case of a missed or broken wire, breaking will not stop you in time. Even I know that and the closest I've come to landing anything is a youtube documentary.
Very Like For Your Team
I did approaches to the Nimitz when it was parked ar Bremerton in a 152 before 9/11, literally! Then I flew over Banger checked out the subs. Can't do that now.
She really is one beautiful young lady. Nice touch Steveo
From my personal experience, flying a real airplane is way way easier than any sim.
Spiro I have to agree
in many ways, yes. But this simulator was clearly not setup properly. half of the guys landed and then they had brake failure on contact with the deck. I don't think this was intentional. I think it was just a real shitshow. I need a fix the simulator and do this over
I agree too!
Yup, but can’t respawn in real life, lol
I could never experience either, probably won't be able to either... my parents won't even buy me a $30 joystick, calling it a toy, waste of time, money etc... and I can't in real either as I got no support... my dreams have been crushed...
Imagine sticking that PT6 into a tail dragger like the one that crashed last summer. Could probably execute slow flight with a near zero groundspeed until touchdown
Jebus it looked like he was settling back to the runway with the gear up!
177/5000
Beautiful video, first in flight on your beautiful plane and then you showed how you feel a landing on an aircraft door with the flight simulator. Interesting and fun.
For a second I thought you were going to do it for real and not virtually. Oh well, still a good level of excitement lol.
Steve’s callsign: fish!
You did much better windy landing over the water on Orcas Island in a Carbon Cub the first time, but then the runway wasn’t moving. The Navy pilots will give you a new call sign after that crash landing...something like Waterboy, or Surfer...LOL! Nice try though, as the carrier is a moving target, so it’s like make your initial aim point the far end of the take-off foredeck and let the carrier move it to the near end of the landing deck. The carrier is moving on a course about 15 degrees right to the landing path you are trying to negotiate. It is easier to make your final approach a shallow left turn like the Corsair pilots in WWII had to do to see over the long & high nose. “Hey Cougar, anyone see a carrier out there...”
Steveo, we know you like the skateboard,,,But an aircraft carrier??? How much runway do you need for the board?
Valerie is a beautiful woman
Over the Everglades in a single engine aircraft with pythons 🐍 and alligators 😬😬😬
Valerie looks great! Hello from Germany.
What is the background music
let Valerie fly it
Steveo, looking for a charter MSP * MFE suggestions
It’s not easy to land on a carrier now is it . Crash n burns. Valerie did it
Great video. I love the top gun music
Awesome video as always, Have a great Christmas and be safe. 👍
Steveo's new Navy call-sign: "Water Ski". Merry Christmas man, wishing you the absolute best of the holiday season and a very happy 2020. Fly Navy!!
Jet Ski
Stevo "no brakes" Kinevo. 😂
Loving the ground effect departure. Great video as always.
I think we've just found Steveo's callsign! :D
Wow, Capt Val was the only pilot that didn't use the entire length of the flight deck to stop, and touched down right where a normal jet aircraft would have stopped. Nicely done!
Nice vid. Cool for me to see that the aircraft on the carrier (for example, at 22:07) with the open canopies are EA-6B Prowlers. I worked on those in the Navy :) According to the hull numbers on the flight deck, that's the USS Nimitz. Steveo - nice smooth approach, but no tailhook and no brakes - EJECT EJECT EJECT!!!!
Greetings Steve and Valerie; I had the opportunity to meet you at Sun & Fun December 5 2020; Valerie and Steve thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to speak a few words with you, I always support you in your videos are very instructive; I hope to have the opportunity to see you personally again; I wish you many blessings and successes

HARY SUSANTO what a loser why do that
Steveo, Cpt Val and Eric- great vid! Saw some wise-cracking about you guys in a comment. So instead of even honoring them with a response, I decided to send you a positive comment, instead. I really enjoy riding along with you guys (on my tablet, that is). You are great pilots and I congratulate you on your accomplishments. Not just for your excellence in flying/aviating, but also for providing some really cool videos. I really like that Captain Val is all business when she is in the left seat - highly focused (as are you, Steveo) on flying the airplane and nothing else. That says a lot about her (and you) as a person and shows how focused and perfectly serious she is concerning the task of flying her airplane. You both make me feel very confident when I click the 'play' button and we zoom around the clouds together. Lol. Glad for the UA-cam platform and for your channel. It's interesting and fun, especially the trips to the Bahamas. Also neat to watch the segments of Val landing on the grassy airstrip. She puts her plane right in there in a no-nonsense way - awesome pilot. Obviously, Steveo, you are top notch and in a class of your own. I have lots of respect for both you and Cpt Val and am pretty certain 99.999 % of your viewers would not have to be asked twice to fly with either of you. Thanks for the work you put in to provide us with some wonderful experiences, entertainment and education. As for the wiseguys, just tune them out and keep doing what you do.
1.) turns prop in wrong direction on preflight 2.) Really too much chit chat about sim games while taxiing and ATC talking. 3) accelerating with low attitude for airspeed after TO to zoom up is unprofessional
Thoroughly enjoy riding along and watching your videos for a long time. Not a pilot, but totally enjoy learning from you. My association with aviation was building the L1011 from wing mate to DD250 and riding along in second and third customer flights. Other aircraft include the S3A, P3 Orion, CP140, F117, B1B and 10 years with Honeywell Defense Avionics on the F15 Multi Color Displays. Appreciate all your work on giving us this insight. Maybe you'll make it out to Albuquerque some day.
DJH , I think the little prop flip was more for video effect and was not part of the pre-flight. Chatter should indeed be held to a minimum during taxi but I saw no signs that Steveo wasn't paying enough attention to atc. Acceleration in ground effect with a near max rate of climb is not unprofessional. It's done as part of pilot training at all levels. Come on man. And, those were licensed, multi-rated pilots on board.
@@majordomo9415 I am not a pilot, but I agree with you. I think Steveo appeared to have things well under control and didnt miss a beat. Whether it was spinning a prop, doing a very cool low run on takeoff or communicating with ATC. He did not seem to misinterpret any instructions or fail to respond to any communication (as far as I could tell). With regard to the direction the prop is turned, I am wondering if it even matters with a turbo? Although I know zero about it, it seems logical that if the prop is not 'engaged' by any mechanical means while the turbine is not running, perhaps it would not matter which way it is turned? I mean, since the TBM does not have a piston engine (correct?), I assume the prop must be disengaged until the turbine spins up and then it is engaged at some point. Again, I know nothing about it and it just a guess for me. Bottom line is that I have a sense that Steveo knows his plane well enough to know what he can and cannot do with it. I just enjoy his vids and glad he keeps it interesting.
@@Wugawamp Jeffrey, I have never been type rated in a turbine powered aircraft but I have spent a lot of time back in the day around all types of aircraft engines. The short answer concerning the direction a turboprop is hand rotated is no, it doesn't matter. Depending on the manufacturer, there may be a reference to direction in the POH for a particular aircraft but mechanically speaking there is no reason the prop cannot be turned in either direction during pre-flight.
I would have loved to have seen that take off from an external shot! 10 ft off the deck with the gear up, fun!
Microsoft flight sim X has a mission where you fly a Cessna Caravan that experiences a fuel pump failure. You can turn on the auxiliary pump and keep flying, or failing that, the engine will fail, and you can then do a power off landing on an aircraft carrier that happens to be just underneath you. It's an empty deck, so plenty of room, but still a pretty fun mission.
Roger that! I hope FSX2020 also includes more challenging missions!
Always lots of views when Valerie is in the front seat!
she is a cutie
The title should be "PIlot survives flight with hottest Cougar on the planet"
I love how Stevo helps teach his viewers, this is the perfect channel to watch when you want to be entertained while getting some virtual seat time
VERY. IMPRESSIVE. SPEEDS. THAT. TURBINE. ENGINE. IS. PERFECT ! !
Sweet! Practically every S1K vid features a heli; he secretly wishes he was flying one of our ships. Admit it, helis rule! ;)
Grimace427 yeah Buddy!!
I sighed with relief when he said *"virtually."*
Steveo! Always flying with the hottest women in the hottest planes! Valerie, looking really good in that co-pilot seat! What a treat to fly in the TBM!
Steveo pretending how not to land to make everyone else feel better. Such a good dude!
Because of you Steveo I practice rhe same start up procedure on Flight Sim

Yeah that’s a little rude
BEFORE the video even begins, I have faith on a pilot who can ride a skateboard up to his aircraft. Let's give the qualified carrier pilots the skateboard qualification test.
Think they'd be that balanced . . . . ?
@@paulsuprono7225 That's a fair question. They may need special training.
...bravo..... Valerie & Steve......greetings from Atacama , Chile
Are you at the telescopes?
ah that simulator was the setup for the HotStart TBM 900. that + full motion would be heaven.
Funny thing is I am flying the Hotstart TBM900 while watching this video. lol.

Salut tank you vidéo magnifique super merci
Niiice! Admit you were boasting a bit with Valerie on that take-off Steveo. I could start feeling it when you picked up speed using ground effect, well done man 😉
She gave you your money back at that carrier landing 🙃
Have a great Christmas Stevo. Your videos are truly the best you get thank you so much for what you do
@Piper Warrior Sim Project Yeah, it's high quality content.
Steveo was a gentleman pilot and didn't show off with a spot landing on the deck.........and Valerie is a stone cold beauty and a good pilot to boot......too bad we can't clone about a thousand of her.........lol
Back in February 2009, a small Commercial flight from NJ to Buffalo, NY crashed killing 50 people, including a man in his home, when the aircraft plunged into a neighborhood and exploded. The Pilot was a pilot, who was flying in terrible winter conditions that night. He NEVER should have been flying in icy weather, as he caused the crash by pulling back the yoke and stalling the aircraft, which caused it to plunge to the ground below. If Steve was flying this plane,..I believe everyone would have made their destination. Here is a link to what happened:ua-cam.com/video/7kascZP1nsQ/v-deo.html
Steveo and Val...that was all kinds of awesome ';-) Thanks
Sorry Steveo but the vid should feature Valerie more!
You definitely need to do more video with Valerie.....just sayin".

She nailed the carrier landing i think she won the competition
Great vid, Steveo! You probably already know this, but you all aren't the first to land on an aircraft carrier. Nope. On April 29, 1975, Major Buang-Ly of the South Vietnamese Air Force stole an O-1 Bird Dog, and with his wife and five children, escaped Viet Nam before the North Vietnamese or Viet Cong caught and killed them. He flew out to the USS Midway (CVA-41) where he planned on ditching beside her; instead, the crew cleared the deck of the helicopters which had been transporting personnel and escapees from the embassy in Saigon, removed the arresting wires, and brought her up to 25 knots. Crewmen aboard Midway said that had he had a tailhook, he would have had a perfect landing and caught the three-wire. One of the few good tings about that sad day.
Thanks Jim. Went digging found an actual video of the landing and later in life 6 years ago he was honored at an air show
What a sound! Dis guy right here always watch the plane video from here with my rock playlist crancked to 11. Metallica, Delta Parole, ACDC etc. AWESOME!
Steveo, yours are by far the most enjoyable pilot cockpit videos on youtube. Never boring, great destinations and occasionally a few cute lady pilots thrown in for spice. Keep up the good work bud.
Stevo make it look easy.
This is the crossover I was looking for, didn't realize you and Skyline Baron Pilot had done anything together!
When I thought I couldn´t be more amazed by Steve´s life the guys rides a skateboard to fly an airplane.... come on man! lol damn that was coooool

That take off would have been cool to see from ground view.
Place has changed a lot since 1985 last time I flew there .
Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with fun and frolic! May this Christmas bring your way plenty of reasons to smile. I wish you and your family a very Happy and Joyous Christmas season. May your Christmas sparkle with moments of love, laughter and goodwill.
I am a Tow Boat pilot / Captain and run mostly near my hometown of New Orleans , Ms. River.. or .. aka . LMR.. Lower Ms River and also I.C.W from as far West to Houston and East Tampa Fla. Anyway.. past 5 years or so The bigger companies are sending wheelhouse personal to a Simulator . The one I've been to twice is in Houston Tx.. Seaman's Church Institute ...aka . SCI. !!.. That place is the REAL DEAL if you want to take your skills to next level !. But.. the Simulator there, those guys train to cause an accident , collision, or Allisions . Not really looking for how well you can run the vessel from A to B... But if you are prepared if the poop hits the fan as in, what protocol and or neseccary steps and Pilot or Captain you would take ? I had a ship hit astern my tow boat and I was pushing 2 Loaded 30,000 bbl chemical red flag barges . Which when the ship collided with me astern, my tow forced my face wires ( aka winch wires that tighten up from now of towboat to the barges you push ahead on to kinda form 1 unit for better control ..etc... Anyway... I failed my 1st go miserably , Not knowing they were talking it very Seriously and not just like a vid game like I thought, !!!.. gotta hit general alarm, check on crew, get on VHF radio and call out Security, Pon Pon or Mayday depending on the extent of damage done !!!.. I REALLY FELT LIKE A GIANT FOOL that day !! But returned year later and I aced it !!!... Ironically was hit in exact same intersection, by same pilot but on a different ship !!!.. saved my crew ,the vessel , the cargo and other lives hopefully that time but came prepared to get in a bind !! Anyway... I would Absolutely LOVE to learn to fly those small aircraft y'all do in these vids and I actually see a lot of similarities !! But your moving a whole lot faster than my whooping 13 kts southbound with loaded barges !!!.. lol.. and ... I think boat may be a bit safer / closer to the ground ...lol.. but that river can get 150 -200 ft deep in spots and even more than that !!.. Current and Eddy's working all around.. that's NOT FUN either !!.. Anyway...GREAT VID
Interesting video BUT I honestly can’t see how any competent pilot couldn’t land a 172 on an aircraft carrier. I guarantee I could do it for real. When the carrier is heading into the wind for aircraft recovery, wind speed across the flight deck is almost stall speed for a 172. You could almost hover above the deck in ground effect with full flaps. Maybe there is something I’m missing here but looked like fun.
you are great, but she's gorgeous! (and great as well)
I have a request, if possible, please add the name of aircraft and location of departure and arrival. That way, I can create flight plans in sim more easily.
Thank you!
YOU GO VAL !
Hello steveo & all. I'm an aspiring private pilot & loving the channel & i'm also new to the channel (subbed too). I wanted to ask, what's going on with this TBM 850? Is this actually your own plane steve or do you hire it? Also would someone with a PPL & abit more training be able to fly this plane?
How the fuck do people get lives like this. My excitement for the day is "My 1993 Yukon started so I can go to work today" ! Loved this, thanks for letting Me peek in, it was fun.
There is a great You Tube video of Navy and Marine pilots landing on a bouncing carrier. Nuts. As a retired Marine you always get the challenge from folks when I am at Edwards AFB as to best pilots. This video shuts them up every time. Marines are watching the deck on the video screen, eating popcorn and betting if the guy landing can hit the hook on the first attempt.
Fun fact: once you land on the deck always full throttle and do it again in case if you miss all 3 wires or your going overboard.
Beautiful that woman beautiful!!!
great Vlog steveo, your the original You Tube king - merry christmas
lol 8:00 stevo thinks hes in the blue angels ...... takes off in the TBM pulls up the gear at 50 feet AGL lol. gets speed up. ready... HIT IT pitches 40 degree nose up
Captain Val for the win!
How do you know if you turn left or right on a taxiway?
18:40 I understand and know that you're a professional but do you ever have fear or anxiety when flying or landing? I watched some of your videos where you are troubleshooting while in the air and getting this under control like in the video where you were losing electrical power and needed to kick in your back up power system but apart from that you always "seem" so cool and calm that you make what you're doing look as simple and as easy and brushing teeth. Great video as always
You know why you clicked 😉
I really hope most of those people trying out the sim weren't pilots XD
I guess im just old as dirt ?
How does Valerie find time to be so extremely beautiful as well as an proficient pilot ?

I do apologize .
She is so beautiful !
Stevo, come jump in on Pilot Ryan show, we would love to have you in there.
14:43 Am I the only one who thinks the Everglades looks super scary and unforgiving?
Landing cessna 172 on carrier in real isn't impossible, I think. It's just very risky.
