I'm genuinely amazed by this in every possible way. Not only just for how accurately you were able to capture the characters and the intent of the voice acting to go with the music, but the smaller details too. The way Vox immediately deflates when he realises what they're talking about, the rose-tinted memories of when Angel first met Val, flash frames of Vox's screen being broken, the way that Valentino's smoke is the only thing that appears in colour when the pair of them are singing. All of that stuff is so cool to see and so very close to what I was imagining when putting the original song together. The fact that val says "JUST TRY IT" makes me think that he expected them to act up against him and because he is an overlord he probably could hear both of them singing in his head and became angry with both of them but didn't interfere with the situation.

Hello, two years from the future here! The first four episodes of the official series have finally aired, and it’s very interesting to see all the differences between the current, canon versions of the characters and past perceptions by the fandom & old instagrams. For instance. Vox, so far, seems far more in control of the Vs than many of us thought. He’s the clear leader of the group and (so far) the sole person who can reign Valentino in. There is absolutely no hint of any kind of imbalance between them (as of yet). The turbulent Vox/Val dynamic from the instagram days have shifted quite a bit. … And yet. Val ultimately remains a soft spot for Vox, shown through Vox’s subtle jealousy towards Angel Dust. This is while he MUST know how Val treats Angel-after all, they are partners who manage some portion of each other’s affairs. Angel’s just a “whore” and yet Vox is JEALOUS of him solely for the fixation Val has on him. Val is, frankly, an idiot Vox obviously has to manage constantly but he’s also probably the only weakness (besides Alastor) Vox has. Currently, Vox doesn’t show any sign of giving a shit about the abuse Angel endures. Angel’s trauma is every bit as sickening as we all expected. But coming back to this old fancover and animatic, it’s making me strongly hope that these two will someday, somehow find some common ground in canon and grow past Valentino’s twisted allure.
Even further in the future here! It's interesting how we finally got a look at the Vees' actual dynamic. In hindsight, the IGs did make it look like Val was in charge, what with his more explosive personality but it's clear that Vox wouldn't fold just because Val smacked him once. If anything, we've seen Vox with a subtle animosity toward Angel so I think he def doesn't care and is more than eager to get rid of him.
i honestly think Vox knows but doesn’t give a sh!t. Hell, he got HARD over Alastor dying. also in Poison, Vox sees how broken Angel Dust is and just leaves without a care. and even Velvette knows. she helped create Valentino’s toxic love potion as seen in the billboard for it’s promotion. the Vee’s are cunning and power hungry. they will go to extreme lengths to keep their souls as theirs. Valentino keeps them by contracts but also by making them feel like they have no control and like he’s their only option-their best option. and he does that by doing sh!t like what he did to Angel. I’m sure the other Vee’s also use terrible means of keeping the souls they own as theirs too.
Angel is affection-starved his whole life while Vox enjoys, even CRAVES, attention Make sense that someone like Valentino would exploit that. And they don't know that only THEY can have the power to strip him off his stature (both a 🕷️ and a 📺 held the weakness (ess) of a moth (🕸️ and💡 Respectively) Angel's the reason he's rich while Vox is the reason why he's so we'll known) then again, the word 'playing victim' comes to mind somehow
Disagree. I highly doubt Angel is the only guy he uses for money. Heck, like any other pimp, i'm sure hes got plenty goin' for business. It's also insinuated in this song that his name was being called, and if we are to assume that Angel came first before Vox, then Valentino has certainly been well-known for quite some time already. That, or he was well-known during, which works all the same for me.

Oohh, I love how this was animated and put together. It really brings out the story of the song very well. And that ending is just so fucking wholesome. Truly worth the wait, wohoo!
I love both the potential of Angel hating both Val and Vox, and Vox and Angel sort of teaming up/empathizing with one another. I think both possibilities just emphasize how much of a wild card Vox is. We don't really know how he feels about Val yet, and he could really go either way (it _is_ Hell so it's likely he'll unfortunately go the former but I do kind of hope for the latter, for Angel's sake).
The song and drawings perfectly frame the depiction of suffering and struggling through an abusive, yet addictive relationship. Having currently just gone through one, this helps me to let go and cry out the addiction and pain anytime I find myself yearning to go back.
Holy crap this is amazing!! The art really captures the emotions of the characters and the atmosphere of the scenes! You succeeded in showing how both Vox and Angel were used and hurt by Valentino. I loved the dance/duet they had at the end. Outstanding!
You just can't fault the vocals, the way they transition in time with the art, and you cannot even question the logic behind this idea. I've watched this video 6 times in a row, sent it to friends and just WOW. this is bloody amazing.
I like how you and Raphielle II interpreted the song so differently. You portrayed it like some sort of alliance between Angel Dust and Vox that may be in vain in the end but at least they could share their frustrations with Valentino, with each other. And Raphielle II showed it as a fit of jealousy on Vox's part even though he knows that Val ain't good for either of them.
This draws a very good picture of a highly manipulative and gaslighted relationship. In those kinds of relationships, you can't just go, you can't just break out - you are addicted to this person, everything you do is influenced by them. Even the "he likes that at me so I changed it" things are a result of that and shows how much control this person actually has over the other one. Very well done, you drew a picture-perfect image of that (and yes, I mean the video, I wrote something similar under the original song, referring to the music)
Is it bad that I'd LOVE to see this as a full animated video like Addict? The song is SO fitting to the situations both Angel and Vox are in (though to be fair I don't know much about Vox as a character). An Animatic is great, but gosh just think of all that up there fully animated. The dance scene between them both would be AWESOME!
Guys...what if the 'boyfriend' that Vivziepop was talking about that Angel will canonically get eventually is Vox? O v O I mean its very obvious WHY they would/could hook up with Valentino being their abuser. Everyone is free to ship their ships, but just a passing thought....and I kinda now ship it now haha!
This captures them perfectly. I know how Val is a very manipulative and narcissistic moth, and Vox and Angel are trapped by it. Seeing them team up makes me feel mushy. I feel like they could be friends if they got over hatred.
I kinda personally want them to be friends eventually. I doubt it'll happen in canon, but it'd be nice for them to have someone who understands what they're going through.
That was the best song ever! The melody had so much emotion and the lyrics were sung with so much passion! The animation was beautifully drawn, you did wonderful in your work.
I would absolutely die to see this fully animated. I like the individual scenarios where they meet Val and how it changes from then to now. I think the only thing I would say I saw differently in my head is at the end when they're dancing I didn't see that as romantic more as them feeling fun and happy at the idea that they're on the same page together, like empowered. But even then, still loved it. Amazing work!
Now that the show has come out, and seeing the dynamics, I absolutely LOVE this. The idea that Vox is trapped too is so cannon that this feels like an actual piece from the show
This video, i discovered/was addicted too, when i had been taken advantage of and cornered by someone, it helped me get the courage to speak up on my assault, being a victim, i was 17, they were 19/20 between those ages, and i was young and stupid, pressured and just scared, i couldn't speak up until later on, but i got the police report against him. Now i'm 18 and still struggling, through the motions, thanks loves, and thanks paranoidDJ for this. I don't think i could of spoken up or have the courage i did if i hadn't found this.

Maybe doesn't seem to care about angel, but in ep2 it did kinda show that vox was used to vale abusive behavior hence why he was so chill. And when the call ended with vekvette, his smile faded away and it seemed like he didn't wanna go deal with val

I can definitely see Vox and Angel getting together, especially because of their shared trauma. I say shared because we see with Angel how Val treats those he likes, and Vivzie said herself they're dating on and off canonically, so it would only make sense it's an abusive relationship. I do hope to see feelins between them develop because of this is szn 2, but I don't think either of them would be brave (or stupid) enough to take it farther, and eventually realize they don't love each other.

What still shocks me is that so many people don’t judge Angel’s type of job. I always expect there to be people judging what he goes through. Asking questions like: “Why doesn’t Angel try escaping from Val?” Or: “Why would Angel work for Val: isn’t it obvious how bad Val is?”

I just noticed that tiny detail. When smoke appears with Vox, you can see hearts. Like illusion of love. And yeah, it's kinda surprising that In canon vox has FAR more control over Val than here, but in a good way.

Even further in the future here! It's interesting how we finally got a look at the Vees' actual dynamic. In hindsight, the IGs did make it look like Val was in charge, what with his more explosive personality but it's clear that Vox wouldn't fold just because Val smacked him once.
If anything, we've seen Vox with a subtle animosity toward Angel so I think he def doesn't care and is more than eager to get rid of him.
i honestly think Vox knows but doesn’t give a sh!t. Hell, he got HARD over Alastor dying. also in Poison, Vox sees how broken Angel Dust is and just leaves without a care. and even Velvette knows. she helped create Valentino’s toxic love potion as seen in the billboard for it’s promotion.
the Vee’s are cunning and power hungry. they will go to extreme lengths to keep their souls as theirs.
Valentino keeps them by contracts but also by making them feel like they have no control and like he’s their only option-their best option. and he does that by doing sh!t like what he did to Angel.
I’m sure the other Vee’s also use terrible means of keeping the souls they own as theirs too.

Angel is affection-starved his whole life while Vox enjoys, even CRAVES, attention
Make sense that someone like Valentino would exploit that.
And they don't know that only THEY can have the power to strip him off his stature (both a 🕷️ and a 📺 held the weakness (ess) of a moth (🕸️ and💡 Respectively) Angel's the reason he's rich while Vox is the reason why he's so we'll known) then again, the word 'playing victim' comes to mind somehow

Disagree. I highly doubt Angel is the only guy he uses for money. Heck, like any other pimp, i'm sure hes got plenty goin' for business. It's also insinuated in this song that his name was being called, and if we are to assume that Angel came first before Vox, then Valentino has certainly been well-known for quite some time already. That, or he was well-known during, which works all the same for me.

The fact that Angel and Vox are hurt by Valentino is sad, but when they sing together, my heart is stolen.
I love both the potential of Angel hating both Val and Vox, and Vox and Angel sort of teaming up/empathizing with one another. I think both possibilities just emphasize how much of a wild card Vox is. We don't really know how he feels about Val yet, and he could really go either way (it _is_ Hell so it's likely he'll unfortunately go the former but I do kind of hope for the latter, for Angel's sake).
The song and drawings perfectly frame the depiction of suffering and struggling through an abusive, yet addictive relationship. Having currently just gone through one, this helps me to let go and cry out the addiction and pain anytime I find myself yearning to go back.

Holy crap this is amazing!! The art really captures the emotions of the characters and the atmosphere of the scenes! You succeeded in showing how both Vox and Angel were used and hurt by Valentino. I loved the dance/duet they had at the end. Outstanding!

I like how you and Raphielle II interpreted the song so differently. You portrayed it like some sort of alliance between Angel Dust and Vox that may be in vain in the end but at least they could share their frustrations with Valentino, with each other. And Raphielle II showed it as a fit of jealousy on Vox's part even though he knows that Val ain't good for either of them.
This draws a very good picture of a highly manipulative and gaslighted relationship. In those kinds of relationships, you can't just go, you can't just break out - you are addicted to this person, everything you do is influenced by them. Even the "he likes that at me so I changed it" things are a result of that and shows how much control this person actually has over the other one.
Very well done, you drew a picture-perfect image of that (and yes, I mean the video, I wrote something similar under the original song, referring to the music)

This captures them perfectly. I know how Val is a very manipulative and narcissistic moth, and Vox and Angel are trapped by it. Seeing them team up makes me feel mushy. I feel like they could be friends if they got over hatred.

I would absolutely die to see this fully animated. I like the individual scenarios where they meet Val and how it changes from then to now.
I think the only thing I would say I saw differently in my head is at the end when they're dancing I didn't see that as romantic more as them feeling fun and happy at the idea that they're on the same page together, like empowered. But even then, still loved it. Amazing work!

This video, i discovered/was addicted too, when i had been taken advantage of and cornered by someone, it helped me get the courage to speak up on my assault, being a victim, i was 17, they were 19/20 between those ages, and i was young and stupid, pressured and just scared, i couldn't speak up until later on, but i got the police report against him. Now i'm 18 and still struggling, through the motions, thanks loves, and thanks paranoidDJ for this. I don't think i could of spoken up or have the courage i did if i hadn't found this.

I can definitely see Vox and Angel getting together, especially because of their shared trauma. I say shared because we see with Angel how Val treats those he likes, and Vivzie said herself they're dating on and off canonically, so it would only make sense it's an abusive relationship. I do hope to see feelins between them develop because of this is szn 2, but I don't think either of them would be brave (or stupid) enough to take it farther, and eventually realize they don't love each other.

What still shocks me is that so many people don’t judge Angel’s type of job. I always expect there to be people judging what he goes through. Asking questions like: “Why doesn’t Angel try escaping from Val?” Or: “Why would Angel work for Val: isn’t it obvious how bad Val is?”
