i do like that this comic almost humanizes Vox, the idea that Val abuses him as well. Obviously if he thinks that its angels fault then he'd get mad, and in no way do i think thats okay or that Vox is a good person, but i do think that interactiom makes him feel more real. like in a weird way (if this were canon) he and angel would have a common enemy

@@Stolasupremecy yeah, the insta account things showed that Val broke his screen twice, if I remember correctly. Not sure if that’s still canon, but honestly in the show when Val was throwing shit, Vox dodged it really easily and didn’t seem too surprised when Val took his phone out of his hand and broke it. So maybe it is still kind of canon? Or something along those lines (sorry for the whole paragraph lmao)
seems like val unintentionally ends up throwing things around, sometimes right in vox's direction, which vox either dodges or doesn't dodge

I love interactions between Angel Dust and Vox. Interesting..
I really enjoy how this comic shows two sides of Val's abusive relationships. Angel has had enough, and is finally escaping into a freedom he never thought he could have before. Sure, he's still under contract, but he is no longer a mental or emotional slave to Valentino. Vox, on the other hand...
He is powerful, rich, well-respected, and STILL the victim of abuse. His issue with Angel goes far beyond reputation. While he wouldn't admit it out loud, he is also trapped. If Angel stands up to Valentino, upsets the status quo, then Vox takes the brunt of it. It's the real reason he confronts him. And it's why he says he's selfish for desiring more.
It's sad. I hope both Angel and Vox escape Valentino's clutches if this comic continues. And I hope to hear more wonderful VAs from you!

I remember in the show he almost seemed either amused/surprised/happy when he asked if Angel had quit. I'm not saying Vox is a good person, but even he can see that Val has an obsession with Angel that goes above and beyond the norm of he normally acts to begin with.
Valentino is more pissed that Angel is actually dating someone rather than his image getting ruined. Vox knows that, he's the one who cares about image. The problem is, even he knows he can find a reasonable solution for everyone in this type of situation, and knows for a fact Angel was right about the terms of his contract. Vox only knows to just lash out or lash back, rather then be "reasonable".
I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Vox had a love/hate relationship with Val at this point. I mean he immediately dreads even wanting to talk to the assh*le when he's "in his mood again", for obvious reasons.
Makes me curious on where Viv plans to take Vox in the future

Vox is one to talk! He's the one being self centered! He's complaining to Angel about his OWN image, not Angel's! Angel's out there living his life with his friends. This isn't about himself, this is about him living the best life he can and spending time with the people he actually likes and loves. Vox, Velvette, and Val only care about their reputation, money, and and image. Angel literally doesn't care how people view him so long as he's not hurting anyone who doesn't deserve it. Especially Charlie and the rest of the friends at the hotel.

Because being selfish isn’t always a bad thing. You have things like wrath, greed & pride which are sins & peace, generosity & compassion which I’d say are heavenly virtues. Then you have selfishness which I’d say is the borderline between pride & compassion because what’s selfish is subjective to one & another.
Angel is seen as selfish as he’s decided to only be angel in the studio & Anthony outside the studio isn’t selfish to Angel/Anthony because to him it’s his job not his life.
Valentino is selfish because he prioritises profit and himself which causes him to abuse those around him. He OS selfish because he doesn’t deserve what he reaps from folk like angel/anthony

I love how Vox has these certain annunciation of words that kind of make it sound like he has an accent, it makes me think his speech patterns before (when he was friends with Alastor) still stuck around, whether that’s intentional or not, wonderful job as always!!!

I really like the idea that vox isn’t fully evil. Like, maybe it’s a kung fu panda type situation where alastor mentored vox before they had a fight and now they hate each other

I noticed that too. I think it’s because Angel sees through Vox and gets to the real root of it all, that Val is an abuser who doesn’t care who he hurts, even someone that’s his business partner. That Angel, someone who Vox sees as lower and lesser than him, can see the truth so plainly, completely hurts Vox right in the ego!
Add to the fact that Angel isn’t afraid or intimidated by Vox, but rather pities him as being another one of Val’s punching bags, is a blow to Vox’s image of himself as a strong, powerful and successful man, an ideal of perfection.

Im so amused about that so many people see Valentino as the biggest baddie of the Vees and how they are making all kinds of content around him abusing his surroundings. Especially this one where it looks like Vox isnt an Overlord kingpin, able to rip anybody a new one if he feels like it.
But the reality of the show so far is much closer to Vox beeing the dominant of the pair and he is the one driving the Vees ambition forward and he is very capable in manipulating Valentino with ease.
I like your version of Angel though.

In the old Instagram accounts, there were multiple instances of Valentino abusing Vox, cracked screen and all. Worse than in this one.
Vox gets pissed and "breaks up" with him, but he always ends up coming back.
And there was no mention of Vox retaliating at all, other than breaking up, which Valentino didn't care about at all.
