I was in Barcelona for a month last year, the city is becoming so disgusting compared to what it was years ago. A lot of homeless people, knife attacks. I was so happy to be back to Poland where it is safe and clean. I will definitely not be back to Barcelona that is for sure !

As a Spanish person that lives in Málaga (one of the most touristic places in Spain), there's nothing more stupid that being against the TOURISTS.
We have a bigger and more concerning problem called immigrants and illegal immigration that are causing problems of safety all around the country.
Majority of people that complain are actually young leftists that don't realize that tourists are a blessing for Spain (obviously having in mind that masification is a problem for locals) and the real problem is the one that they are skipping.

I'm from Poland, and have visited Malaga the previous year, it's a beautiful city that is safer and more comfortable, especially compared to Barcelona.

the hotels will go bust simple as that, the hotel owners can not be paid indefinitely by the government to house immigrants, they need tourists not only for the rooms but for the food and the bars, immigrants will not pay for that at all. the hotel owner will then sell up and move to another country.

Spain is one of the most visited countries by tourists, but to say it has no industry is a lie.
The industrial sector is larger then tourism. Tourism is about 10-13% of Spain GDP, the third largest sector, after industry. Sure it would suck to be 10% poorer, but it is not like the country would starve.
At least is only a Barcelona thing, the rest of Spain is still good to visit
