That is an excellent question and I have thought that myself but the main selling point is the system of accessories that you can put within the wardrobe and the doors so for that reason with the price point it makes sense to purchase the pack system if you're on a budget
@@HomeInstallers HomeDepot sells the closet boards and any accessory can be put in to include wider shelves. White Melamine Drilled Wood Shelf 15.75 in. D x 96 in. L $32 a sheet. x 6 is what you have = $192 and you are not limited to that empty space you have on the left of yours and they go to the top. I did an entire closet with them..I am not a carpenter. Just a circular saw, drill, screws and a rail on the back/wall brackets. The walls were painted fresh color of choice. Just sharing. Good luck. Blessings.
