Austria is just the best place to live. I've been to so many different countries & I'm always so happy when I come back home. We have winters full of snow & hot summers with really cool lakes. There's nothing better than the life in one of the beautiful little cities in the middle of the Austrian Alps! :D
felixhalli woher bist?
Thank your video,May be peaceful all the Austria people, animals& birds from Myanmar.
Mariazell/Styria is a very nice place to visit especially during the time before christmas
+xLifewellx would love to visit it then for sure
best vacation I've ever had. Have family in graz, that showed me the whole country.
I love everything there... lived there for 3 months with my girl from there, most beautiful place ever... i can't even begin to say what my favorite area was...
I know I needed more pictures but I just had old camera pictures not the digital ones and they tend to look a bit... hmmmm... bad when I scan them in. I will do better! I am hoping to go to linz and graz if not summer 2014 than 2015 and we will have some more specialized videos on them. all the best and thank you for the nice comment and extra Austria tips. I really enjoy traveling in Austria. people were really nice to us everytime we went
Graz might be a little bit far in the south but it's worth it. Southern styria is one of the best wine regions in europe with wines as good as italian or french wines. We have the styrian wine road which leads you through a magnificent landscape and many little wine farms where you can eat and drink. If you are here, visit a Buschenschank, usually not so many tourists know them but if you want to experience good wine, food and an authentic experience you have to check out one.
The most beautiful landscape in Austria can be found in Lower Austria in an area alongside the Danube river which is called Wachau. And if you'd like to visit it you sould always make a river cruise from krems to melk or the other way. Being there is like being in paradise. You'll go up/down the river passing so many beautiful little villages like Dürnstein and also a lot (like hundrets if not thousands) of vineyards which is because the Wachau is one of the best vine regions of Austria.
I think going to Mayrhofen for a Christmas ski trip would be an awesome experience.
been doing it for the last years, it's enthralling
Alex GuangTou OK. That's all the motivation I need. I will add that to my bucket list.
Austria is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Visit Deutschlandsberg. It's a beautiful little town in southwest Styria. Wonderfull old houses, a great nightlife, good food and we have the Schilcher, a very good wine which only grows here. And in summer the city looks like it was in Italy.
mahotter79 oh yeah it is😊my moms family lives there but Ig it's not thaaaat special.
I want to go to hallstadt so bad. it looks great
You’ve come a long way Mark!
You missed out SO much what about Carinthia (Karnten)....Klagenfurt is a wonderful Baroque Town with a Large Lake-- Worthesee on the west side which has a village at the far end known as the Riviera of Austria where all the rich and famous live or holiday.
Villach with an amazing castle with a bird of prey attraction, views and monkey park. Nearby just outside the town is the Glock family Horse centre where top shows are held and the Italian/Slovenian boarder minutes away etc etc
We live here now having moved from Dallas and England and now here to stay--------
I am heading back to Austria this summer to see more :) I do love the country and the people (just not the service sometimes) so will try to check some of these places out. thank you for the tips!
Service in the cities is not so good but get outside and it is second to none...
Worst service I EVER had is in Venice and north Italy and unfortunately go there a lot as only 3 hours from here!!!!!!!
Let me know when you are coming and I will tell you more and PLEASE do not miss staying at the Schweizerhaus, ,Kreuzbergl, Klagenfurt--GREAT food and service and views and.........
Yeah, Klagenfurt is the best place on Earth! Nice people, and I love Loretto and Eskimo Eis. Alter Platz and Neuer Platz are real fun.
Check out 1 time Voralberg that's also very beautiful (Bregenz...)
Also Christmas markets (Christkindlmarkt) are beautiful ^^
Graz is soooo beautiful
Servus Mark Wolters, the greatest fan of our AUSTRIA ever! :-) Mark Wolters so enthusiastically reports about our smal Land. After all the European Capitals and Metropols i hope to see you soon in amazing Carinthia and East-tyrol the silent Corner (Herrgottswinkel) & (latest J.Bond scenery), and take a trip to South-tyrol and perhaps to visit Gorizia &Trieste. Wehre outside glue the lable "ITALIA", just have to scratch a bit and you will see, oh there plugged the beauty full old-Austria among them. My best regards to Woltersworld.
I live in the Salzkammergut in a smal village with about 500 people living there and it is awesome you schould visit a few of this villages
sorry for mistakes I am bad at writting English
Woher bistn?
I personally love the Wachau! Krems, Stein, Dürnstein, Aggstein, Melk! :D
the BEST thing about Austria (especially Vienna) is the TAP WATER (!!!) it is the cleanest most natural water EVER - it comes directly from the mountains and goes directly to the city ;)
Don't drink the beer. Don't drink the wine. (I mean do drink those but...) DRINK THE TAP WATER 😉😋👌🏻
I always found it disturbing that most of the people in the US drink only bottled water because we have such nice tap water
I love their dialect when they speak German.
You talk about Austria having lovely SMALL villages/cities/towns and one of them is Graz. Did I understand this right?
Because Graz is the second biggest city in Austria ^^
I have to admit that - for an American *hehe* - you got a lot of knowledge about Austria! I think most Americans don't even know that Austria exists ;). Good videos! :)
Most of them know at least that we have kangaroos here.
namenlos40 yes,they are sooo intelligent.
I live in America and know where every country in the world is. Used to impress my teachers with my knowledge of geography. I'm much more interested in the rest of the world, America sucks. I hate that ignorant fools think every American is stupid, such a small minded way of thinking. Like it's possible for an entire country to have identical thinking individuals. Hilarious.
Attacante99 Austria? Isn't that the place with kangaroos? 😀
The village of Mauthausen is very picturesque and is near a relatively well preserved death camp.
Linz and Pöstlingberg. It's very nice here!!
I live in Austria ❤️👍
Great film! I'm from Graz. =)
I have only been in Salzburg and it was worth a visit. I travelled the bus Brenner to Innsbruck and stayed there about 5 min. Beautiful view of the landscape from the motorway. I also want to see Vienna. Did you buy some Mozartkugels in Austria ?
Never heard of Steyr? It's amazing!
I found Mayrhofen less exciting than the steam train going there from Jenbach.
And when you're in Jenbach, it's also a wonderful experience (though a bit costly) to take the steam cogwheel train to the other side, to Achensee.
One area that I can recommend to anyone enjoying a variety of outdoors experiences is Zell am See - the lake itself is a marvel and you have plenty to see in all directions.
Really nice choice of places. :-)
i am from the salzkammergut..you have to vistit hallstadt...and Gmunden
The best choices for N1 and N2 cities ! agree.....
Österreich ist das beste und schönste Land der Welt! I AM PROUD OF MY ORIGIN! I AM PROUD TO BE AUSTRIAN!
No kangaroos!
You just explore the west of Austria. try carinthia, styria or lower Austria. not just the main cities, Salzburg and tyrol. :)
Hello there how are you Mark? This is great cause I am thinking about checking out Austria for a while. Oh BTW when was this filmed...... recently like a few months ago? Thanks & have a nice day.
I love the Salzkammergut most, because I am born here und live here
Schnaps - YESSS please ;)
Baden Is the best, greetings from Norway
A very nice film - but no pictures from Linz (visit the Grottenbahn and the VOEST-steel-world), the Salzkammergut-region (Hallstatt, Bad Ischl and Gmunden) and why not the Neusiedlersee?
I love Austria, and don't forget to taste a Wiener Schnitzel or Schweinsbraten, and after that the Kaierschmarrn (a kind of flavor-milk and egg-cake, really fantastic), the Sacher-cake (Sachertorte) and the Mozartballs (Mozartskugeln)
Hallstatt is a really great place to visit. The skull collection (yeah I know, sounds creepy, and it is tbh) is amazing!
When you are in Austria: EAT THEIR FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their food is very delicious: Germknödel, Kaiserschmarren, Käsespätzle and (not Austrian, but you can get it in almost evey restauant) Currywurs.
Schweinsbraten and Backhendl bro ;) try it !
Vorarlberg? Check out vorarlberg with the cities Feldkirch and Bregenz with the biggest opera on sea :)
Julian Bitsche yeah Vorarlberg is so antique. Especially Feldkirch 😊
MRS.INFIRES i live in Nüziders near by Bludenz its a small village but very beautiful :)

IF there is snow which is getting quite rare these times.
You forgot Carinthia.....OMG noooooooooooooooooooooooo....you....you know what?....Here is an official Invitation: Come to Carinthia, we pick you up and show you some amazing places here....you are very welcome...
I will be in Austria this summer :)
Hello :)

Pfirti (Bye in carinthian)... :)
Hildegard
cheers!
I've lived in Innsbruck for like my whole life until we moved to Sweden! :D
Wie lange war des?
vaduz/liechtenstein - nice, but not in austria :-)
In Austria you MUST go into a little village, with around 1000 inhabitants, if you want to get drunk and have people around you. Basically everyone pays you a drink you pay everyone a drink till around 3 o'clock. (For teenagers every alcohol is hand out to you at the age of 16)
Nur nicht gebrannter
Don't know if it's possible to enter Liechtenstein for foreigners anymore. They want to leave the Schengen Agreement and therefore maybe you would need a visum for Switzerland/Liechtenstein. What also should be mentioned: From Feldkirch or Vaduz it's only a 1 hour trainride to Chur in Switzerland, where you have access to The Bernina Express and also The Glacier Express.
Can you please make a video like this for Poland?!
Thank You!!!
Hey Mark, thanks for all your videos and for putting you and your family out there for everyone. It is amazing and your tips have helped me and my girlfriend save money, travel safe and enjoy ourselves much more. I was wondering if you could consider doing a video on Halstatt, Austria? We've been there twice and absoletly love it. We started going there 5 years ago and it was a hidden gem for us, though now it is getting more and more popular and when we were there in April of this year it was very busy with tourists. Have you guys been there?
Carinthia or klagenfurt not even mentioned once :(
You should check some information! You won't regret it
man sko Rip, ich habe gehofft dass er Klagenfurt erwähnt. :(
I´m from Carinthia and I have to say that Carinthia should be on your list :P
Been to Klagenfurt, and really liked it. Wish I'd been able to see more of Carinthia.
Truee
wolter can I'm dieting to know what do you do for a living and how do you get to travel so much!!! its my dream to travel only been to 9 countries at 25 you have been every how what kid of job you have?
Ha, I just imagine the heads of the Graz inhabitants explode when they see being called a village - after all, it is the second biggest city in Austria, the capital city of a federal state.
Well he is american and they don't seem to care about that kind of thing.
Graz is a fucking Kaff.
aragornthebrave I'm not sure if "they" don't care. It's more that American cities are just "a little bit" bigger than Austrian cities.
JoniOdin
It is ignorance.
JoniOdin
Yeah, just 'a little bit' xDD
Forget Vaduz zzzz
Must see the Wachau region with towns like Krems & Dürnstein
Famous ski resorts St Anton & Lech am Arlberg ( voted the most beautiful village in Europe 2004)
Hallstatt & Bregenz for the summer festival & Bodensee
It is a beautiful country with beautiful landscape and beautiful cities. But making a top ten list is kind of funny I did not even know that are more than ten cities in this country.
Mark, i hope u will read this ! :) If u wanna see the most beautiful village in Austria ---> then go to Deutschlandsberg/Steiermark. :) Special tip for u ! U will enjoy ! Have a nice day ! Liebe Grüße :)
Sinjuri I will have to check it out. I have not heard of it.
Visit Sölden or Längenfeld in Ötztal
What about Kufstein? Awesome and friendly little city.
Klagenfurt and Villach are also nice (villach especially because it's trilingual :P)
hey wolter, if you like wine, old buildings and a lot of history you should visit the wachau which is a region at the danube in lower austria! if so, give me a call we can meet for a coffee and i make sure you get a good service at the restaurant ;)
You should visit Hallstadt
MrFeexxx believe me it is on my list :) want to go there so much!
Yes, but it is in Salzkammergut lakes, quoted in the video.
Did you visit Gmunden? It's a town
in the Salzkammergut
It's where Conchita Wurst is from right?
why video near the river ?
The water noise makes it hard to hear him and because he is shouting !
.
Aren't there any parks, in that city?
Or, would doing a commercial video in a City park, require a license and fee payable, to the Ctiy ?
o0o
Lichtenstein isn't in Austria
sind iwelche vorarlberger do?
Definitly! :'D
Enns ! (ok I am biased cause I live here, but it is the oldest city in Austria)
Visit Reutte :D litte city in tyrol! :D greetings from Austria!
what's about Vorarlberg
Which one is the second largest city after Vienna in Austria??
Graz
Graz is the 2nd biggest City...
cool, and a super cool city too
Velden is great!
ich habe gehoert falerschine sin eine nett stadt
Graz is not small, it's almost a megacity for Austrian conditions. ;-)
Have you been to Hallstatt?
you should have visited wachau, look it up on google
idk if u did Russia but you should!!!
What about Klagenfurt and Velden, both on the incredible Woertersee
My House is like 500 metres away frrom where are you talking
And you should visit the Hafele Kar in Innsbruck
You are a lucky guy!
No Hallstatt?
what about kitzbuhel?
SchootingStar only famous for the skiing resort
the town isnt special
ps: im from tirol
and very expensive
Where's Kitzbühel
what about Villach
this, from someone who is totally clueless and doesn't know Austria at all!
as an asutrian i have to say that 1) the hohe tauern national park is not a city
2) you should defenitely go to krems and generally the wachau and southern styria
3) most of the vine is grown in the wachau in burgenland and styria
and you should go to klagenfurt as well
+Lolo Lustig Krems? What a Tourist should do in Krems?... I think the Problem for a visit in Carinthia (generally) is that the public infrastructure is not the best. So it's much easier to go from Vienna over Linz, Salzkammergut, Salzburg to Innsbruck because they are all accessible via the Westbahn Railway.. easy and fast.
I mi a ;)
Have you ever been to Fucking?
hittingtax26 Are You silly?
wienerneustadt is besser :D
I'm an Austrian. Thank you, for your kind words about my country. BUT. You forgot to mention, we are the owners of the worst humor around the globe.
OK, but it is not so bad. I visited Austria some years ago and no had problems with the people. I love Austria and I will return there in october.
Hallstatt Hallstatt Hallstatt!!!!
wachau
Beautiful country Austria but nothing beats my AUSTRALIA
touche my friend, touche :)
woltersworld hahaha Good on u bro nice work
champion 1 I was born in Australia and its one of the most boring and uncultured countries in the world. I can tell you haven't traveled much, you need experience more than "your" Australia and Bali....
Waltzing Matilda and Ned Kelly are the 2 best Aussie national treasures... lol
Sydney Opera House = Designed by Danish
Habour Bridge = Designed and Built by the British
Ayers Rock = Access has been banned for public
Go ahead list 10 places in Australia that no other country "beats"...... lol
