      @@crediblemike7266I am going to be changing the rear door handle in a few days, only concern i have is removing the last bolt at the back of the handle and it falling inside of the door frame… Does it completely have to be removed, or just loosened and can stay in the door while removing the handle? Thanks again

    • @crediblemike7266
      @crediblemike7266  Рік тому +1

      As long as the hex socket fits perfectly in the bolt it will not fall into the door and even if it does the door is built in such a manner that you can easily reach the bolt. All that would be required if you is to partially remove the plastic and use a light to look for the bolt or feel around until you find it. The bolt MUST be removed in order for you to replace the handle. Don't worry about it too much because with a bit of patience you'll realize how easy a task it is. Best wishes.

      @@crediblemike7266 Done this afternoon, great success thanks to your video. The hardest part was moving the lock assembly out of the way to access the bolt, as it couldn’t be moved a lot, i was only just able to access the bolt. 👍🏽💯

      @crediblemike7266  Рік тому

      I am happy that you were able to get the desired results. Yes, access is a bit difficult to remove the hex bolt otherwise it's pretty straightforward

      It took less than 20 minutes. Easy job. I did a video on the install of a aftermarket Bluetooth DVD player and blower motor/cabin filter change. Upper rear tail light is a common fault too. If you change your CV boots it would be great to do a video on that as that is common as too.

      Sorry to hear... If you know of anyone who is in Jamaica you probably could ask them to make the purchase for you at Fidelity or Berts Auto Parts Store. I honestly believe that dealerships are creating an artificial shortage of parts by not making certain parts readily available for non dealership vehicles. Part have to be custom order with greater frequency these days which tend to cost more. I cannot confirm this however in Jamaica it is said that dealerships will sometimes have parts in stock but only for the vehicles that they service. This seems plausible to me.

      Interestingly, both the left front and left rear door handles broke on separate occasions...with a little ingenuity I was able to repair both and they functioned quite normal...it was not easy to figure out how to do the repairs, however it can be done.

    Where can I get a new door handle for the Nissan Xtrail?

    • @crediblemike7266
      @crediblemike7266  2 роки тому +1

      They are sold on Amazon as well as eBay. Typically these days you need to have your vehicle's VIN number which will ensure that you get the right part that fits your vehicle. Your local dealership/auto parts store should also stock that part. Hope this helps.

    Do the rear and front doorhandles interchaqnge

    • @crediblemike7266

      Unfortunately no...the door handle design for the front door is different than that for the rear.

    This video is not a true representation on how to do it It is very difficult to get the screw in the small part.
    It is also hard to get the lock back in position to do the 3 screws Up.. Dont attempt this if you are not very competent with this sort of thing...

      This video simply demonstrate how I was able to replace the lock. As with all videos done by d.i.yers (with or without disclaimer) it's up to each individual to determine based on their skill set whether they would want to undertake such a challenge. No claim was made to give the impression that it is an task, yet difficult does not mean impossible. UA-cam is a medium that allows individuals to learn, and develop the confidence to do things that would not have undertaken by themselves. I appreciate your disclaimer given; it's not the easiest fix. It might not even be the "right way" to get the job done. Nonetheless, UA-cam is a medium that offers others the opportunity to view how things can be done (professionally or non professionally), so once the content is not harmful nor will create further damage and incur additional expenses then I say "go for it". Too many of us a held back by fear. Too many of us have held back ourselves because we think that something is too difficult or have been told that it is too difficult. So I encourage persons to challenge and to try things for yourself because obstacles can be overcome. "Live and learn" because we all came point of non knowing at some point in our lives. I wish that persons will driven by results and feel the joy of accomplishment a task. Full competence will come with time.
